That's exactly what Forza needs, less tracks.
No more Jank Passengers. I want them off my train.

Turn 10 you good bastards you, don't let me down this time. Please, for the sake of all things carbureted, don't let me down!!
I think Thomas said that if the XBOX 360 Wheels are not compatible with the new XBOX he will make some sort of upgrade
He said he would.. if he could.
I just got on here to post about this or check to see if any discussion.
I have been doing some reading and it is starting to worry me that they won't. I think by way of usb the ps4 will be ok. Which I feel and wish xbox had.
This is by no means a fact but just what a friend told me. He has a friend that works for microsoft and said that fanatec and mico-xbox is having some licensing issues and unless they can get them worked out we may be screwed.
Are no 360 USB accessories going to work on Xbox One, then?
USB and wireless. New protocols.
But Kinect 2 is cool, so it's all good. Brum brum!
/shitebox
Where was it said USB stuff is all-new? I haven't read that anywhere. Seems weird.
Imagine if FM5 turns out to be everything we've always wanted. Then imagine having to play it with a gamepad.
that's all i got
Still no official comment from Fanatec.
That would be a complete 'no buy' situation for me and most others probably. I dont need absolutely perfectly replicated tracks. 'Very close' is good enough for me. I absolutely NEED quantity when it comes to track. Forza 2 was great because it introduced me to online racing, but I could never go back to such a sparse amount of tracks.I'd be completely fine with that. In fact, I think I've been asking to "GT3" the franchise for a few years now. Cut WAY back on the numbers, so you can bring something truly new to market.
Fuck, any of em. Just having them able to model suspension movement would be huge and open up a world of choices. Specifically:Speaking of which, what kind of open wheel vehicles do people want to see?
guise, i can't open the 1080p mov from xbox wire media assets page !
Even Premiere refuses to open it, says codecs missing or unavailable.
Downloaded it twice, I can hear the audio but no video.
What gives ?

Download VLC. Works fine with that for me (it plays everything).

Oops! Dee Pee!

I think the biggest improvement I want to see, track-wise, is the road surfaces. They've improved in small steps with Forza 3's Nurburgring GP track and then with Forza 4's tracks, but its still far off what it should be. This is something that actually affects the driving and racing. Whether or not a track is the exact 14.56 meters across and the signage on the sides is accurate does not whatsoever.
Fuck, any of em. Just having them able to model suspension movement would be huge and open up a world of choices. Specifically:
- Multiple Caterhams

I'd like faster ones like GP2 and F1, but honestly, the LMP1 cars in Forza are already a tad too twitchy and sensitive for me. These would be another level beyond that. I probably wouldn't drive them much. Some vintage F1 cars would be excellent, though. With rFactor, I always found the low-to-mid level open-wheelers to be the most fun to drive and race.
EDIT: Oh crikey, thats the actual box art? I was hoping that logo was a placeholder. Its shit.
Assuming we get a different trailer for E3 (and Christ, I hope we do. I'd hate the arcade/festival 'vibe' from the current one to be perpetuated) then I hope Turn 10 go totally balls-out and show open wheelers, night racing, the new tracks, wet tracks, precipitation, headlights (not DRLs), pit stops, helicopters, blimps, new cars, Porsches, leaves on the track, marbles, variable TOD, hi-res liveries, upgrading, body kits, qualifying sessions...
I'm still not sure what that first trailer was trying to say.
Speaking of which, what kind of open wheel vehicles do people want to see?
Thanks, it works !
Would have hoped it would install codecs to allow me to open the video in premiere and do a frame by frame analysis, but it still won't work with other players.

Anyway, If that's the kind of IQ we can expect from FM5 in 1080p (and it does look entirely real time) then holy shit. 1.2TF or not, the leap with the X360 is huge already.
And those shaders and textures. Damn.
Cool! Thought it would. I've used VLC as my default video player for years now. Not sure if it's the best out there, but it's never let me down yet.

situation xbox is already fucked up beyond repair
last thing we need to do, is raise expectations to unrealistic levels for forza.
I am betting that T10 again is running on a tight clock (proven already, since f5=day1),
so you know that at one point they are gonna tell them "start compiling you bitches with what you've got ready" or something in those lines.
so lets not set ourselves for disappointment here. there's no way in hell that all tracks are redone from scratch. also there's no way that all the racetracks we wanted will be in, too.
one "citiy" most probably takes a lot more time and effort to make than one racetrack.
since they showed one city already, I guess there will be more than one. right?
microsoft apparently runs this franchise as the 'jack of all trades' car game. hopefully they dont fuck it up beyond repair, too. (helios take notes!)
I think I completely hate this piece of shit new xbox, and that's definitely a first for a game console to make me think like that,
but dat 1080p forza day 1 ..... 8)

I love racing games at the beginning of Gens...they are the perfect games to show off new technology.
I dunno, Forza 2 was one of the ugliest early 360 games.
PGR3 looked amazing though.

Talking of videos, this Audi R8 advert literally just came on the telly, and I froze, convinced it was an ad for FM5 for some reason*. I'd not seen it before. Got a slight chubby.
*Edit: Just realised why. It's very Autovista-like. Be a nice template for FM5 AV, actually...

Fuck man, a dyno!
That sounded incredible. I'm convinced that's what the dyno and sounds are like in FM5 aye Turn 10?
Aye?
To be honest, I quite liked the trailer. It was fresh, it was fast and exciting. A step away from the norm. I mean, it is a city track after all so the festival atmosphere fits in quite well.
Having said that though, I agree in that the next trailer would need to go back to it's stomping ground...the track.
I would like to see Turn 10 pretty much put all their eggs in one basket as it were. Come out fighting and wow the world with all they have to offer.
Close racing, new locations, new features, new graphical/sound effects..etc. Get us all excited and don't hold back.
If successful in conveying all there is in that one trailer, I guarantee people will sit up and take notice, and let's face it, MS need all the positivity it can get at the moment and to show off your premier racing title in the best possible light is definitely a step in the right direction..
Maybe PGR gets Porshe as wellYep, I've just realized that too. It seems that EA and MS/Turn 10 struck a deal.
EA will give Porsche access to MS, while in return, MS gives access to EA for Ferrari...
Why didn't those games have 600 cars?Hey guys. Maybe the 360 just wasn't capable of doing open-wheelers...
AhahahahaSeriously, what is so fun about this game?
Online is so basic and a joke on Forza 4. If you have the right tunes you gain a few seconds on your opponents and its not even playing field.
Because it's all about quality, not quantity. PGR never had 300 American muscle carsWhy didn't those games have 600 cars?
If the 360-compatible Fanatec wheels don't work with the XBO then I'm out.
Main point is that the resources were prioritized differently. Dont think at any point Turn 10 claimed that open-wheelers weren't possible on the 360 hardware. They just never invested time into creating the modeling that would have to work on hundreds and hundreds of cars and not just the open-wheel ones.Because it's all about quality, not quantity. Why didn't those games have 600 cars?
And man, I'm tired of hearing about PGR! And Mustangs! lol
Oh, I've been nothing but batshit crazy since PGR wasn't announced on Tuesday. So it's not silly as such, just completely mentalJust seemed like a bit of a silly comment to make! Anyways, would be great to see, but I wouldn't get my hopes up. The game hasn't been in development for that long. With all new hardware to work on, I doubt there was a ton of time for all kinds of time-intensive new features. Hope to be proven wrong on that.
So, the Nord debate will rage on into next gen as well...looking forward to it.
Anyway, the Nord can die a bad death if it means Spa and Bathurst are in instead.
If the acquisition of the HDT/Holden/Ford/FPV licenses are still on the cards, holy shit!
Mount Panorama and Peter Brock.....fucking epic!!!
....and here we go!!

Oh man, I'd seen your tag a million times but until I've seen this post in here and in the Outrun thread, I never realised how accurate it was. In a great way, obviously! The PC has and will always be the no.1 system to play racing games/sims. With pCars, Asetto Corsa, rFactor 2, F1 2013, GRID 2, iRacing, and a *shitload* of arcade racing games via emulation at your disposal, there is NO reason to get an Xbox One! None!
Come on over where the grass is greener guys. I promise you won't regret it.
You should join us in the PC racing sim thread, because I don't think I've seen you around those parts.
