Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn Collector's Edition revealed, releasing August 27th

Didnt we have a title already? Some quote from Louisoix?

I really can't wait to get into the beta, but the monthly fee is very off putting. Even if I enjoy it I'm not sure I'll sub. Is the Gaf Guild planning on reorganizing? That may give me some added incentive, the GW2 Guild is run pretty well and still very strong.

We're still pretty strong with some non-gaf help:

And yes, Yoshi and crew need to up the LS member count. Then again, isnt the player run grand company supposed to be the main grouping?

hnnggggg

Love the Amano art for this CE. Better than the v1.0 art and I liked that.

Just noticed SMN between MNK and BLM. Have we seen any SMN/Arcanist footage yet?

In all honesty I thought this game wouldn't see a release until the fall. I bought the standard digital edition off Amazon for $10 so I'll be looking to upgrade to the digital collectors edition whenever they make that possible.

There's a Gaf guild? Count me the fuck in.

Man this really sucks for me. I wanted to try this again, but now that this game is officially relaunching in August I'm out. Just not going to have the time to play because of school. Really sucks

The Collector's Edition digital upgrade offers customers the ability to upgrade their standard FFXIV account to Collector's Edition status via the “FFXIV Service Center” website that is scheduled to be opened at the launch of official service, which then grants the in-game bonus items included with the Collector's Edition. Customers in possession of the Collector's Edition for either version 1.0 or A Realm Reborn will receive these Collector's Edition items without needing to purchase the upgrade.
*Characters that have already been created will be able to receive the items.

I have the regular version of 1.0. I'm looking to buy the physical PC Collector's Edition and I'm wondering if anything has been said if we'd able to use the in-game item codes with our current account or is that only with the digital upgrade?

Thanks for the OT suggestions. I don't think I'll go for something too "serious" though. However, if people could answer my questions above... that would be swell.

Final Fantasy X|V |OT|

Yes, already plan to do that. Thing is, I don't want to mess up search.

From what I know back during the XI and XIV 1.0 days:

The extra preorder stuff will be seperate codes you can add to your SE account. You should be able to use the items but still let your bro activate via the PS3 disc.

Now as far as using your account with the same disc...I dunno.

So if I played FFXIV 1.0, I can get a digital download code and download ARR for free?
And I also plan on buying the collectors edition for PC. So I will eventually get two keys, right? I need that collectors edition...

If you have FF XIV registered already on your SE account you can download the client and play on release day.

If you get the CE you get another another key, yeah. I don't know if you still need to use that key to get the in-game items.

Are they going to make the CE avalible on Amazon? I got the XIV CE, and would love to have ARR but honestly I'm not a fan of buying directly from SE.

I'm in. I just hope I don't lose years of my life again. What are the odds that we see a PS4 port? You'd think that would be obvious to everyone at SE if this game is going to be actually successful long-term.

And game + subscription changes? It's like they want this game to die.

Hasn't a PS4 version already been heavily hinted?

I want the CE goods, pre-order items and PS3 trophies... but am not terribly thrilled at the prospect of putting another $80 down.

The PS4 version seems all-but assured, too. So I'd have to have to then want to pick that up, as well.

Thank you.

Will wait for the PC version as it's the only way I would want to play and MMO, but I'm sure if they have the PS3 version up they will eventually have PC.

PC version CE is exclusive to the SE online store in the US.

Set for an August 27, 2013 release, FINAL FANTASY XIV: A Realm Reborn will be available for $39.99 on the PlayStation®3 system and $29.99 for Windows PC. The Collector’s Edition will be available for $79.99 on the PlayStation®3 system and the PC version will be sold exclusively at the Square Enix Online Store for $69.99. A free 30-day trial is also included for new accounts. Monthly subscriptions for new accounts start at $12.99.

Hmm guess I won't be support that version then. Shitty.

Actually I just realized this means I won't even be getting it at launch:( My bro and I want to play FF XIV together, but he said he will be waiting until the first of next year when he upgrades his PC again. I was just going to get this because of the awesome boxset.

Damn, well at least I will be able to get it at a much cheaper price (base game) by then. Still can't wait to see the video's that come out of the game. ARR looks amazing from what I've seen.

I'll be your trophy whore companion

I'm vetted if you need qualifications =D

Guess I'll be ordering from the SE store since I want the PC CE :( Why is this happening >.<

Wait... it says cross platform play...

Can I just order the PS3 version on amazon and then download the PC version from their website and play it on PC? is that how it works?

I think I'm going to hold off on the pre-order until after E3.

It seems like it could be a launch PS4 game, and I would imagine those would share the same trophy pool like cross-buy games do.

If it's anything like XI, you won't be able to just download the PC client free. But should you happen upon it, you'll be set to play on both platforms.

Doubt it. What it means is that PC and PS3 players will be on the same servers, playing together at the same time.

It is crazy frustrating that this is coming out at the end of the summer holidays and not the beginning. Does progress in the PS3 beta carry over to the retail game? That might be my main chance to get some playtime in.

Not until phase 4.
