I've been looking forward to this ever since I bought my Lightning PS3 and got that beta code for the coming-in-2010 PS3 version (which has never been used)!

Let me ask a stupid question: what is a "Digital Collector's Edition"? I mean, the bonus soundtrack can be digital, and the in-game items are of course virtual, but does the artbook become a PDF or something?
 
So Best Buy needs to hurry up and put the CE up for sale

I have $60 Reward Zone money towards it, so the CE costs me only $20... Weeeee!

Also how are we paying SE for payment for the PS3 version?
Is it like DCUO where you can buy chunks of time through PSN store or go through SE's own store to buy time?

Are any non-SE store preorders available yet for the collector's edition via online retailers in the US? I've looked, but no one seems to be offering it.
 
The PS3 version doesn't look too bad (that's the version I'd have to play anyway because I don't have a PC strong enough to handle it) but the difference in framerate throws me off. =(

I hope that's ironed out by retail release. Though if they announce a PS4 version I will def jump on that.

For now I'll wait 'til E3 is over.
 
When do applications for GAF Guild start?

Was 75RDM + 75BLM every other class 30+, every HNM defeated, every Dynamis won except killing Shadow Lord (FUCK YOU!)
Left before ToAU released
Will be on daily 5+ hours everyday!, if Trophies, yeah that Platinum will be mine, oh yes!
 
If I already own the original FFXIV, do I have to rebuy A Realm Reborn or just resubscribe?

I would like to give it another shot, but dont want to spend another $30.

PS3 version supports keyboard for typing.

It also requires at least 12gb of HDD space if anyone's interested.
 
Anyone have a high res of the CE box art? Not the box that everything is in, but the box that the disc is in. It's in the center of the image of all the CE goodies.
 
I know it's been brought up once already, but shipping from the SE store is done by Digital River. I've used them twice and been screwed by them twice— hope for the best and expect the worst, people.

Thankfully I don't need to actually have the CE to play the game this time :P

Man im probably going to end up buying the CE again. I guess I could sell the actual access code/ disc to offset the cost. I just want the extra physical stuff since all 1.0 CE accounts get the extra DLC automatically...right?


EDIT: Do they charge you before the game actually ships?
 
I guess this is a good time to mention that I am doing the OT and need an artist to put stuff together. I want it to be image-heavy and a very noteworthy OT. The reason I signed up was to create something that will impress.

Btw, now is the time to start blurting OT titles in hopes of inspiring me. I have my own idea for one, but I don't know if it is the best possible one.


This will be first actual cent I will spend on the game. I got a friend code from a friend and then the game went free. Pretty good deal for having spent so much time with it, but then I suppose that's its own cost.

Now I need some advice, to make things clear. My brother wants to play for the first time on PS3 and I want the CE stuff for my account (I'm also disguised with myself for that, but we have our vices). If I preorder PS3 CE version will I be able to use the stuff for my account? Will he be able to play on a PS3 (my PS3, to be exact) after I take the codes? And also, will I be able to play on the same PS3 with the same disc with my own account after he signs up? Finally, does pre-ordering the CE version get me the mog hat, etc pre-order bonus?

That jungle setting is probably the instanced 'out door jungle dungeon' Yoshida alluded to in the last Live Producer Letter, he even mentioned wanting to show a sneak peak of it hopefully soon. The dragon is probably one the bosses inside that might require specific spawn conditions to keep him grounded (you notice he disappears as the Warrior gets closer and takes off) maybe you need the dragon to spring a trap that you set elsewhere in the dungeon so you can actually fight it.

Sounds like fun. Actually sounds sorta like what playonline FF was envisioned long ago (anyone remember that promo video with the FFVIII style environment).

Really got a thing for dungeon areas with puzzles and seriously involved boss battles...and an excuse to post that old video lol.
 
I really can't wait to get into the beta, but the monthly fee is very off putting. Even if I enjoy it I'm not sure I'll sub. Is the Gaf Guild planning on reorganizing? That may give me some added incentive, the GW2 Guild is run pretty well and still very strong.
 
I won't mind buying this again (I picked up the original for like $10 on a sale), but will I have to buy it again, or can I just resubscribe to my old account? I didn't subscribe long enough to get any of that legacy status or whatever.
 
If I still have my physical copy of FFXIV 1.0 from launch (which I played a whole month of), do I have to purchase 2.0?
