MS and Sony(especially Sony) need to just grow some balls and both say they are implementing the DRM. If people don't like it, they can go play mobile games, WiiU games, PC games or games from previous generations. The only people that care are the type to read forums, and I doubt 90% of them have the will to not buy either console if they go the DRM route.

It really makes no sense that one console will go that way and another won't. It's not just Sony and MS that want the DRM, so I don't see how MS would put themselves out there like that unless Publishers are planning on withholding games.

I'm sure they hate MS too, the threads on /v/ after the xbox one reveal were classic. I think it's more of them not seeing how using twitter and online petitions will do anything to stop a multimillion dollar company from making their decisions.
 
Truthfully I´m not hopeful or positive things will change for the better, but GAF, you inspire me to be hopeful for everyone!

Nope this is bigger than gaf, you think its only gaf that buys second hand games and has issues with online drm 24 hour check ups? youd be so wrong.

Quite the opposite. Most of the people that care probably don't even know the PS4 exists yet. A HUGE amount of normal people are only able to afford games by buying them second hand. Think about it.

why would they? they are not stupid, they see the unhappy customers complaining and damming MS over this. Smart move is to lay low, let MS take the big hit and then announce that we are not doing this!
 
The people that trade games to the next new game aren't the ones that read forums.

They're the people who play a bit of Call of Duty multiplayer while their friends are in town but mostly just trade it in to the big January game.

I'm not sure how a system that has to check in everyday can succeed. What if I'm a gaming baller with a next gen system and plenty of games and I go broke with nothing left but my system and games? I can't afford my Internet anymore. Now I'm depressed because I have $$$ worth of games that I can't play.
