I don't know how much the rest of you know about Japanese culture (I'm an expert), but honor and shame are huge parts of it.

Holy shit it fits perfectly :lol

It's amazing that a dude who, as far as I can tell in the 10 minutes I've heard of him, exists solely in social media on twitter and youtube... is dismissing social media as a tool.

I mean if he doesn't think it's going to work... fine, that's perfectly valid and possibly correct. But to shit all over the idea of it seems like he doesn't understand the world we live in right now. If people can lose their jobs on twitter for pigheadedly defending their company (as opposed to a racist rant or something completely insane)... a social media campaign atleast has a chance to create some change.

I don't know WTF a total biscuit is but he is going off on everyone that is challenging him on that statement. Like completely and totally going off on them.

Shut it down guys, "total biscuit" thinks it's lame.

I was willing to cut him some slack because I'm also conviced that in 99% of the cases, hashtags don't do shit. This is a slightly different occasion, what with Sony going all "hardcore focused", E3 at the doors, Xbone's reception serving as a lesson etc.

But after he posted that this campaign may actually be harmful because "japanese companies see this kind of stuff as an attack"...yeah, he's just talking out of his ass. When you're on the same page of 4chan, something's wrong.

hashtags do some stuff. they really can (and actually) get the attention of the media. the whole journalism seems to be depended on twitter.

I haven't participated because...I don't understand Twitter. I don't fucking get it. I don't even know how to read it, let alone write with it. I just see a lot of these things - "@so-and-so's-name".

I put out a tweet after seeing this thread. I think it's cool that yall are pushing for this. Keep up the good work. :-)

How the fuck is writing a letter any more persuasive than messaging SCE directly via twitter?
Does TB really think correspondence via a letter would make it more legit? What century is this?

I resurrected my old twitter account (and deleted a load of old tweets for competition entries, which was all I'd really ever used it for!) to make a tweet for this. I really hope as many people as possible add #PS4FreeOnline and #PS4NoRegionLock as well as the used game ones. Free online is my biggest concern for PS4, as I don't play online enough to warrant paying, but I'd hate to miss out on next-gen LBP style user generated content.

As for region-free, I've never used it (though I have considered importing games from the US on at least three occasions across PSP and PS3) but it's nice to have it there just in case. I barely ever buy used or trade games in either, but it would still put me off buying a PS4 on principle if they were restricted.

I got blocked on twitter and got several insulting tweets from TB. This thread just got even more awesome.

What was this thread about again!?

E: Sorry Bish, i hadn't refreshed.

Hey guys n gals, remember back when new games were $30-50 and you'd go to the store and buy like 3-4 games every month? I wish those times were back again. Now we have to worry about if the game require internet or not, if we actually own the games we legally bought, and how much space we have available.

This shit is depressing, man.

Free to play online will be on the PS4. It will have Playstation Plus again from premium services like demos, free games, discounts, early access etc.

It'll be interesting to see if these guys carry on posting as normal, or if their Twitter accounts will go quiet till an announcement can be made/E3.

edit: Just answered my own question, Shuhei is posting.

Posts are organized by date and time. Newest posts are at the top. When you do a "@<username>" it means you're sending a message to that person, and a "#<tag>" is a hashtag that adds your tweet to that hashtag's pool.

Every person who has added #PS4NoDRM #PS4USEDGAMES to their tweets will show up in the pools for them. Likewise, if you were to add "@SophiaAlex120" at the start of your tweet, it would appear on my feed.

The fact that it adds everyone to a pool is what makes twitter such an effective tool.

Some of this is already going on, but it would probably help immensely if we asked more renown people on twitter to help us out with this hashtag. If it started trending worldwide, that would be kinda big.

About getting Velocity Ultra to the US.

Price rising was inevitable. Look at gas or mcdonald happy meal.

Drm or anti used games on the other hand is just plain awful.

Games have always been 60 euros where I live, as a matter of fact games during snes/n64 were more expensive than now.

Let's get our feather pens, bro.

I may be slighty incapacitate and hurts like hell to type but this tweet has got me riled up. A couple of months ago I got charge twice for my electrity bill and the company line was email them or use their webchat. Needless to say this got now where for near 3 days. So I decided to voice my displeasure on Twitter and low and behold was refunded within 3 hours. A letter in a private conversation where as a tweet the whole world can see.
