I love how Jaden is cropped out of this.
Why doesn't this game look like this with even more finesse from the WiiU additional power? ugh, so underwhelming.
I think it's pretty obvious when looking at the games that Lost World is going for a more cartooney-look than the last few Sonic games.
Yeah, Nintendo assets look pretty damn good blown up to HD with some AA, as Dolphin proves.
Are people really that underwhelmed by this graphically? What's wrong with it? I thought it looked amazing. They were transitioning from CG to gameplay and it looked almost the same

I think it looks decent, but I'm not really the best at determining whether or not the reason is artistic direction or technical ability. Are people really that underwhelmed by this graphically? Betting this game is made by the Sonic Colors/Secret Rings team, it looks like something right up their alley. That makes me guess the third Wii-U exclusive Sonic game not announced yet is being made by the Generations/Unleashed team.
Like the look of it, in the team that the first thing I thought of was Sonic X-Treme. Not what I was expecting, but I will go with it.
Also calling Eggman is the game's main villain. The dead give-away is that there are Badniks around. Story will probably be Saturday cartoon-styled like Colors/Generations was, and these characters are being duped by him. There's also probably a seventh one, as someone pointed out they match the colors of the Chaos Emeralds perfectly, but the white one is missing.
We also can say from the teaser pic the game, looks like after Green Hill we will have at least a forest, desert, volcano, ice, and ocean environments:

Just my speculation, but I believe it's to cut corners. With regards to anime and manga, everything is about cutting corners.
In anime, such a pose is much easier to animate. You really only have to animate the legs. A standard running pose is a lot tougher to animate in that there are more moving parts. Most anime is done on the cheap. Plus it looks cool.
In manga, the same reasons apply. It's harder to do a good running pose. Arms out is easier to draw. Plus it looks cool.
In short: time/money constraints and it looks cool.
Game looks really good btw.

I haven't bought a Sonic game since Sonic 2 on the Genesis.
Might be getting this....

I hope they don't bring in Jun Senoue as the lead musician. Generations' best tracks came from Kumatani, Ohtani, and Tokoi, not to mention some others I'm forgetting (Nanba?).Yeah they had pretty good composer for Sonic colors.. but Sonic 4 music was piece of shit...
As someone who has never cared for Sonic...that looks incredible.
Is that the Wii U exclusive?
I love it... people should worry about gameplay more than Graphic..
Yeah, Muñoz's was pretty cool! It was a great final to watch; CA messed up big time.Dude looked like he was going SSJ on the slo-mo anyway.
I still contend that the best moment of the match was when the GK got the goal and tied it up.
That's probably going to be the case, man. A few 3D sections at most.I never played any of those, but if it turns out to be a normal sidescroller on the 3DS, I doubt I'll buy it.
This screenshot in particular gives me a lot of hope that this game will essentially be 2D Sonic level design philosophy, reimagined in 3D. It seems like just a straight line at first with some enemies to bounce on, but look at the sides of the screen. There are walls you can run on with rings, the top of which have springs and paths which lead to the top of that rotating set of platforms at the end of the cylinder. You can clearly run around the tube in this level, which likely leads to even more unseen paths.
This is gonna be a very different type of Sonic game, it looks like.
Graphically this is nowhere near Generations. Its very simplistic with pretty basic geometry choices (the grass tufts are... stylistic I guess), while Generations had full 3d layers of comprehensive shit in its backgrounds. Here the "Background Galaxy" is most probably a skybox and if its not I'd have no idea why.

There is a Wii U and 3DS version.
Its look like a N64 game
