Bugger, my bank account is empty. Need to go to town to get some PSN credit ;( Will have to go on Friday so i can grab HD Adventures of Rotating Octopus Character. Minis version is awesome.

I think brightness is okay, it's the volume cap that I truly hate.

can they MAKE a handheld that is playable/seeable outside?

I know we are usually vampires but it's ridiculous.

I can put on headphones to alleviate the "not loud enough" problem.

I'm pretty much free of hard freezes with the current firmware, but buying and downloading content on the Vita's PSN store has become atrocious for me. I used to look forward to the Tuesday updates, but the new PSN store on PS3 is a slow, glitchy mess and the PSN store on Vita is freezes/become unresponsive when trying to complete purchases and the subsequent downloads. I've owned the PS3 since launch and made the weekly PSN store updates part of my routine; but over the past month or so, I can't even be bothered to boot into the store.

For a company that is making a heavy push for digital purchases on their devices, you'd think that creating and maintaining a smooth, snappy shopping experience would be SONY's top priority. So odd that things seem to be heading in the opposite direction.

Nope, they haven't. PSO2 is, by far, my most anticipated Vita game--if they don't announce something by the end of the year, guess I'll be importing a copy and dealing with the Japanese dialogue.

Yeah I have been frustrated the few times I really wanted to play the Vita in sunlight. It's completely unplayable.

Game Boy Advance SP was somewhat ideal, with front-lit reflective LCD.
It looked bad compared to backlit LCD inside the house so it's really a tough decision.
 
I know it makes be a bit of a shit for mentioning it, but, I have no freezing issues at all. My downloads are fast as fuck and I've only once* had to reset / reboot my Vita. I buy a lot of shit too, so I'm surprised not to have had any issues.

I feel for you chaps with issues. It can put a real downer on things.

in Knytt Underground. Lost about half an hours progress. It just died and asked me to send an error report.
 
I was thinking about this and besides Walking Dead, Killzone, and maybe (that's a big maybe) FFX, there's nothing I'm looking forward to on Vita....

play it on computer. translates everything but the items to english.

I'm done with the game after 400 hours. That damn Monster Hunter.

If you want western console type games, they'll come. If you want JRPG, sell for now :)

I can't say I feel your pain but I understand it sucks not to have anything to play or look forward to, sorry for the grouchy post. Had to sell GR, Shinobido 2 and the PS3 version of PSASBR today :( (£7 each at CEX, Game wanted to give a lot less..)

It worked for me. I had the mandatory 2.11 and the I saw someone update to 2.12.

I looked for it, updated and never had the problem again.

Anyway, before that, I used the webstore, purchased the games there and then, on my PS Vita, I downloaded games from my "download list" and never had the problem either.
 
I know it's hoping against hope, but I really really really want a new Armored Core on a properly playable (read: dual analog) handheld. Not this armored core V stuff, but a proper Armored Core.

If there was a big surprise announcement at E3, that'd be ok.

Just thought I'd throw that out there. I'll start holding my breath now.
 
does the rotating octopus hd version have any improvements/additions aside from the resolution and trophies?

i'm jealous of our european friends for getting velocity hd and this game! i hope they come to canada soon.

If any Italian fellow vita-muffin is interested it was all thanks to an offer from Gamestop Italy running till sunday, you just need to bring 3 recent PS3/360/Wii/WiiU games in a store and you get a Vita for 29€ or a 3DS for 1 (!!!) €.

I have the games to trade-in, but I don't have Italy. :(

That's a pretty insane deal, though. Especially if you can trade in recent-ish cheaper games.

I traded The Last Story Limited Edition (nice little limited but I didn't like the game, already wanted to put it on ebay or something), Dragon's Dogma PS3 (not very recent and totally useless if you own Dark Arisen) and Dark Arisen PS3 itself, but I will buy it again when the uk price drops even lower. I also had Deadly Premonition DC ready to give away in case they had any issue with the games being from the UK but it was all good, the clerk didn't even check for discs or anything btw O.o Good for them I keep my games immaculate, but still...

Aww Skyard got banned? Hopefully it wasn't permanent or anything.

I wish we could see more about the Jak & Daxter Collection. I'll be disappointed if it's 30fps, but the trailer made it look even worse than that. I am interested in it, but also very skeptical.

I'm still waiting for Dragon Fantasy Book 1 here :(

EDIT: Oh, and no Muramasa announcement for Europe either. DJ Max Technika Tune is also missing (though I believe Pentavision have practically said they won't be releasing it here - at least physically)
