Anyone think since SEGA has a facebook page that they intend to announce the game at E3?
I would love if they brought over the 3DS games too, I played the demo for the first one and thought it was fun, but $70 is a bit much for one 3DS game for me to import...<_>
Even further behind on Weekly Diva Station, but a digest will have to happen later. For now:
6/5: A contest for user-submitted module designs for DIVA f/F is now running at piapro. Submissions will be taken until 7/8 5 PM.
I take this to mean they intend to stick with DIVA f/F as the current consumer game for the long haul.
Interesting that it calls f/F a "series".

It's happening! project diva f August, demo tuesday!
When was this brought up originally? I've forgotten.The leaked August release date on that Spanish site was true after all, this confirms once and for all that the FB thing was just a publicity stunt and the game was going to get a release regardless. Time to triple dip!

Unless you already have a Japanese 3DS on hand, that game is going to cost a lot more than $70 lol.
Ah right, that. I still maintain the same thing I said about it earlier:Around the same day as DIVA F's release in Japan actually. Here was the thread: http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=520455
Some discussion happened in this thread as well, page 41.
Also Koi-Nya is being cocky as hell with their news article reporting on the confirmation, adding a note that they "exclusively" had the August info back in March.While it's nice to have peace of mind that it's definitely coming, it kind of ruins the fun a bit if we get a peek at the man behind the curtain, so to speak.

I torn with this. On one hand I want Project Diva F in English, but at the same time I don't want to support Sega's decision to shit all over the Vita.
I can't help but feel that they just earnestly want to give the franchise a shot here, and the logical move is to start by targeting the largest install base. If this release does well maybe they will be willing to branch out from there, but outright not supporting the franchise can't possibly help anyone.
Releasing the Vita version in digital-only form would require almost zero effort on their part. They're just being assholes at this point. About half of the people on the Facebook campaign asked for the Vita version. They're deliberately ignoring them.
My interest in seeing the Vita become a viable platform that publishers actually want to release games on is greater than my interest in seeing Project Diva becoming successful outside Japan.
The VITA and PS3 versions are essentially the same game, piss poor effort not bringing both across when all you need to do is copy and paste the text. Not that there is even much text to translate.
I wouldn't say the effort to release a game on Vita is as simple as flipping a switch; besides the usual need to pass through rating boards (a fixed cost), there could be all sorts of extra costs involved in getting on Sony schedule (which we know from DJMAX Technika Tune to be a hilariously bad game of hurry up and wait) and being charged to store the game on their download servers. If there was no risk involved they would just do it without being asked to.
So the game is available for preordering at GameStop now.
Some terminology changes observed in the demo (secondhand - I'm still at work):
Sad -> Bad
Worst -> Awful
MISSxTAKE -> DROPxOUT
Demo only appears to have romaji lyrics. It's like the JP demo in that there are less options available than the full game though.
That's kinda sad. If the full game is also romaji lyrics only then the only real gain from that localization will be the ability to use the Edit Mode editor.
If they won't have translated lyrics then I'm not getting it for sure. That was really the only thing that would have pushed me into triple dipping in spite of their decision to kick PSP/Vita owners in the balls in typical Sega fashion (yes I'm still bitter over Valkyria Chronicles 3).
Of course if they change their mind and release the Vita version as well I will totally quadruple dip without hesitation.
Tried the demo earlier (never played any Miku games before). Question...
What do you do when its an arrow with a "w" on it?
You need to hit both the arrow and the corresponding face button (so, for a Down arrow, you'd hit Down + X).
As for the "W", it's a common way for Japanese to write the word "double" as the pronunciations are similar. (Not to be confused with a lowercase w, which is Internet shorthand for laughing, like "lol".)
After playing the Project Diva F demo on the PS3 for hours today, I seriously want this game on my vita. Would it be wise to import project diva f this late in the game? Even though they haven't announced the vita localization, I wonder what the odds of it happening are.
DO IT.
I just got it last week. I can speak and write basic Japanese, but even if you don't, navigation is very easy and there are good guides on the net that explain everything.
I got tired of waiting. Import it and enjoy it now.
Because I own the PS3 version and Vita, I should be able to get the extra songs for free, correct?
Not for free, but with 50% off. Not sure if that promotion is still valid, though. Do you have the retail or the PSN PS3 version?
Okay! It'll be my very first imported game![]()
Ah, I think I know what the problem is. You should have gotten "Tell Your World" for free. The pack you're trying to buy has all six new songs (incl. "Tell Your World"), but since you already have that one song, it's blocking you from buying it. There should be another pack with just five songs, this is the one you have to buy. I don't know how to type Japanese, so I can't give you the exact name of that pack, but it's listed with all the other Project Diva f DLC (at least on PS3).
Edit: Copied the name from the official site, it's "追加楽曲セット"
