I gotta take a break from this game..

I'm constantly losing lately, I get matched up with horrible people. Which kind of turned me into an asshole for a while there, but lately I decided I didn't want to be "that guy", so I started just being as friendly as I could, helping the people I could tell were less experienced.

So today I had a gyro on my team that was terrible, He would throw his ult out against one person running and still at like full health, with no stuns available. So it would make only like the first drop hit and the rest would miss. So I asked him to try to use his ult only in team fights when they are clumped. And he told me "qq kid". He also complained later that I was "stealing his denies" during the laning phase (I was CM). It's infuriating playing with these people.

I know I'm probably in the trench, but I think it's mostly because I've been playing with a lot of friends that are just starting up lately, and since we lose some of those it must bring my mmr down.

I dont get Na'Vi..
Half of their games they stomp(like 15 min gg) but the other half they throw so hard!
What's up with them?

I wish there was an easier way to tell how you can get out of the trench seeing as how I've been stuck there for a long ass time and would like to play on a higher level. And no, I'm not playing Batrider mid 24/7 lol.

The best way to exit the trench is to play high impact, op heros. The "pubstomp" heros.

But that's no fun :/

I mean I could play Luna or Nyx or something every game and probably maintain a 70%+ winrate on them, but it would get boring quick.

This. I have fun playing All Random and Random Draft because the moment I pick All Pick, I swear some kid is going to pick Pudge thinking he's Dendi and feed like a buffet before he rage quits halfway through the game.

Remake!

I hate weekend Dota so much. Must have lost the last 6 games. I really need to play carry but I much prefer support. The thing is that the ranking system only track wins so I'm stuck in hell.

I can already tell it's going to be a disaster 5 minutes in when I'm alone buying wards and mid doesn't have a bottle and picking up runes. Or when I'm alone buying sentries and dust when the other teams has invis characters. Hate it when people use random. In that ranking level they don't know how to use all characters so stop using random or gives me an option to have matchmaking without it.

The worst is when they pick Drow, Sniper or Slark and they tell you they are OP characters but can't play them. They then whine about how they can't farm because the other team is killing them.

Just tuned into KP vs EG, oh good, its at 77 minutes right now.

Why is there a random smoke on the floor of KP's base?

I got flamed so hard by gaffers recently. I was having a bad game, but I was genuinely trying and all 4 of them berated me for the entire match.
Make sure you call them out in this thread so we can figure out who the jerks are. That goes for anyone who has an asshole gaffer(s) on their team.

People in the channel all have different skill levels so people should expect newer players when they choose to join a random GAF stack.. Just chime in that you're relatively new and hopefully one of the more experienced players should give you some direction

Xboct is "Havost".

I've been so confused for so long.

Protip: If you ever have the chance to get something signed by multiple Dota Pros, don't let Xboct touch the thing. He will make his signature incredibly large and often will sign over artwork.

Anyone know of a good tutorial for Visage? I love the hero but absolutely suck at playing him. (or any other hero that has multiple controllable units with distinct abilities- brewmaster's ult excluded for some reason) I know how he's built and laned; I just have no idea how to switch between my hero and the bats effectively, when I should be paying attention to one instead of the other, when to reset the dmg on the bats via the stun or hold the cd for a fight, etc. The fine aspects of playing him, basically.

So I've been learning how to play #5 and I've been getting weekly 1 hour coaching session on it. You guys can watch the vid's here: with this being the second video in the series (the first one has audio problems but you can still watch it. )

Thanks for the vid. Most of my dota watching outside pro matches is Merlini and Purge- who pretty much always get a farming role on their streams- so when I started queuing with my friends, I'd go Shadow Demon, who's neck and neck with Rubick for my favorite support, and hope to get mid. I pretty much up always end up in 5, though, after the picks are said and done and all of my bot practice and spectating had been from a position of mid SD. (which I love, but sadly never get to see in action in my pub games or in pro play) I need to get a better feel for how to play him in 5.

Discovered that single pick or all random is the only way to play public games, since everyone is much more forgiving of mistakes and the atmosphere in general is more relaxed.

You need to make use of control groups. Bind one bird to Control Group 1, anther to Control Group 2, and make good use of your "Select Hero" button. It can be hard to bind them if you summon them mid fight though, but if you have a few seconds of downtime, make it happen. I would not focus to much on landing the stone form stun at the start, and more with just keeping the birds alive. Sadly, there is still an annoying bug where one of the two birds will not keep its control group between resummons/upgrades.
