So does Edmure Tully now become the king of the North? Isnt he gonna be ticked off that all the people he came with just got murdered?

He's probably dead, too -- or we'll see him die next episode.

The only Tully that might live is the one that left to take a piss, unless he was in on it.

Tully has no claim to the North at all. The next in line is Bran I believe. Then Rickon, then Sansa, then Arya.

Quite honestly, I wish more fiction would disregard their audiences' attachments when it's necessary to tell a good story. It's hard to have really memorable ups and downs when you know a show won't risk going to extreme places.

Another show that pulls (well, pulled) no punches is Spartacus. Makes for really engaging TV.

You're complaining about something on the level of someone having a different haircolor that doesn't work into enjoyment of a character or spoiling future events in any way.

I won't spoil anything by talking about the books, I'm just pointing out the asinine argument being put out there. :|

Anyways I'll leave you to your devices and lurk instead now.

Well here's the thing... I don't know how big of a book spoiler it is because I haven't read the book. Which is why nothing about the book should be discussed. It might be small but it immediately is going to shade everything I think when I'm reading scenes with her character.

I was on her side when she was sold/given away, as that's horrible. I wanted her to get revenge on her brother/family and all of that.

Then within basically 2 episodes she loves her rapist. Why. This is the moment I began to dislike her.

Then she bends over backwards to learn the rituals and language of the rapist community she's been forced in. Then acts like she's actually part of it after a whopping month or however long she was with them, this includes of course ordering around slaves who are only her slaves because she was the wife/mistress of the leader. What right does she have to order these people around? To have them bathe her and cut her apples for her. What is this shit.

Then the unbelievably rage worthy entitlement complex comes in. "I deserve this huge castle and throne and this and that because I was born with a certain name." An entire season dedicated to WHERES MUH DRAGONZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ WHY U NO HELP ME GET MUH THRONE BACK.

Then she appears naked with her dragons and all is well. The stockholm syndrome having, commander of slaves, entitlement driven monster is given a godly weapon to exact a plan she has no right to exact.

It makes zero sense to me. I don't understand how anyone can like her or her quest. What makes it worse is every time something "epic" happens with her the camera and music are shown in a way that is supposed to evoke this sort of 'HELL YEA' response from the audience, and I'm completely bewildered. I don't feel that at all, I roll my eyes and grind my teeth.

lol If I thought like this I wouldn't even waste my time with the show... smh

LOL This thread is moving too fast. Feel sorry for the people mentioning the B**k.

So can we talk about how idiotic Robb is to let his guard down like that.
I know right. I Felt like it was so ominous that he just threw caution to the wind and no one really said anything after. Even I brushed it off a little since no one reacted. Then the Lord of Daughters (sorry I'm terrible with the names) was just like "oh ok bring another Stark its fine brah" after such a strenuous demand to gain access was weird.

As a strategist he should have known not to go back, and to bring his new wife.... wat. She even said at the wedding when he was trying to smooch her, "don't ruin it" or something. Wow.

I don't think this was mentioned much but did anyone else love the Unsullied leader guy's fighting? He was a badass with that spear, spinning it around and just a badass.

It was good to see the trio perform their different fighting styles. Wish we had a chance to see more of that. Its crazy how the 3 of them killed like a company of soldiers on their own. That's some superhero type shit right there.

Ok i said i was going to bail because of book spoilers but I need to be talking about this show.

I don't know how Rob's arc was done. Is his arc that he made a mistake and died? That's not nearly as interesting to me as the proposed siege on Casterly Rock (sp?). And is the mother's arc that she watches everyone die and then dies? Because that's shitty.

Half of me wants to watch next week's episode right now... and the other half wishes I never watched this show.
Mistake is putting it lightly. He was like the worst Stark, breaking promises. I mean, Ned had it pretty bad for being too trustworthy (a problem they seem to have) but Robb just kept flip-flopping the whole time and it finally bit him in the ass. The fact that none of the Starks have any realpoliticking in their bones, it's almost expected everyone ends up taking advantage of them or they end up getting themselves stabbed in the back.

You really are an Angry muthafuckin Fork :lol

As a book reader I apologize for the others. I just want to talk about how awesome cat's acting was I cried again
Oddly enough, the scene that got me the teariest was Rickon and Osha leaving Bran. I didn't expect that. I think it was seeing Osha's affection for the little Starks that did it for me.

Rob may have been good, but he was not honorable. Stannis would not have broken his vows, no matter the cost to himself. Ned would not have either. Stannis is more like Ned than Rob

except Stannis is a shitty character and Ned wasn't...fuck him and hot ass Mel The LOL can suck a dick.

#teamwhitewalkers....

I thought Frey was killing Robb for his daughter to be queen?

Nah Frey is pissed because his daughter would NOT be queen due to Robb marrying someone else. Agreeing to the Edmure wedding from Robb was just to get them close enough to spring the trap

I see what you're saying and I agree that this is probably the point. I just don't know that I enjoy that point.

I'm not giving up on the show. I'm just devastated. I like any sort of storytelling in which you actually believe that characters are in danger when it presents itself in the story because the author isn't afraid to kill main characters.... but, man, that episode was just too much for my brain to process. I liked Robb. I loved the mother. I liked Robb's wife. I wanted to see Casterly Rock fall. I feel like I'm sad for the loss of the characters *and* the loss of that whole story line going forward. :/

That was my thought as well.

Or that pretty girl was never his daughter in the first place.

That part I did find odd as well. Does he advertise his ugly daughters, yet he has some nice ones hiding in the castle as a reward for people who marry into the family?

I'm just wondering how Edmure handles all of this. He wakes up in the morning and learns that his family was all just butchered at his own wedding. That's gotta be awkward at breakfast....

Could those asking please stop fishing for book spoilers, if you are that interested you can go and fucking read the books you don't even have to drive to a book store or library anymore and your potentially getting other people in trouble. Stay out.

Winter is Coming. More like... "fuck you Winter ain't coming. It's Summer."

Seriously I feel dirty after watching. Seeing a beautiful pregnant woman prison shanked along with her cries of pain just made me physically sick. Then Robb and Cat. I'd like to think Brienne will avenge Cat, Little Finger will pull some strings and fuck some people because of his love for Cat, Arya will become Death Incarnate and slaughter every wicked person in Westeros, Danny will bring T-Rex-sized dragons and burn everything to the ground.

And then I woke up and realized GRRM will be like NOPE FUCK YOU LOL!

The Lord of Light will probably just bring about the apocalypse remiscient of the ending of the Berserk anime and all the loved characters will die a horrible death..

Damn, rewatching the scene for a 5th time. Just noticed Grey Winds face at the bottom of his stall as he dies. I truly thought Arya would free him too.

What a waste of the dire wolves too. Two dead, one ran off, and the others are an afterthought now.

I'm going to be thinking about this damn episode all night and for most of the week. All hopes dashed, all speculation for the future out the window.

The one true god is death in this world.

So can we talk about how idiotic Robb is to let his guard down like that.

While it was dumb, from his perspective he was safe. He ate bread underneath his host's roof. In Westeros, this is a huge deal and means that your host can't harm you. To harm someone after they have eaten your food dishonors your entire family name and essentially lets everyone know they can no longer trust you. It would be unheard of to even think of doing such a thing as it's political suicide.

I forgot what episode they talked about that, I think it was an earlier one.

The Frey's already had a pretty bad rep, but now it's going to be dreadful. Hopefully that at the very least ruins whatever they were hoping to get out of the deal.

Imagine if this was the season finale and we'd have to wait 9 months for the next one. How brutal would that be

Well i know hes pissed about the breaking of the Oath by Robb, but he says a line like i have to give my daughter a wedding gift. Wish i thought he meant he was trying ot make her queen, which is why he really wanted Robb to marry one of his daughters.

The crowd demands blood! Book reader blood!

Only then will the unquenchable thirst of the Lord of Light be satisfied.

Great episode. God damn.

Walks to breakfast table yawns looks at walder

"sup father"

I'm surprised by all the Robb love in this thread. Once he decline to marry one of Frey's girls I thought he was a selfish twat. I knew he put the whole north at risk. I didn't hate to see him go.

Robb Stark just died right there... That's not how king should die. Poor Stark Family! :(

That was the worst thing i have ever seen on TV. I still feel like shit. My eyes are still watery.

George is going to need security from now on i think. That was just plain ruthless .

The one true god is death in this world.
I bet all the gods exist, but Death doesn't have to do jack shit, the old and new gods are tired of trying and the Lord of Light is totally the new guy on the scene trying to be cool and hip and shooting miracles and shit left and right. He'll get tired of it soon.

lol If I thought like this I wouldn't even waste my time with the show... smh

I might have to quit if this series is dedicated to Daenerys and she's supposed to be the super duper good person victorious leader. It will upset me too much if she's really who we're supposed to root for.

I watch for Arya, the Lannisters and littlefinger who are all really interesting and entertaining. Rob Stark's scenes were mostly boring this season, but it felt like that was about to change this episode and things would move quicker with the Stark family ...then the ending happened lol.

Gonna be very upset if the series doesn't end with an apocalyptic battle between the various gods, and the Lord of Light shows up fashionably late, torches everyone, then leaves.

Unable to watch the episode right now but I've read the books. Where does the episode end exactly? Do we see any aftermath or is everyone slaughtered and cut to black?

Remember when Robb executed one of the Lord's earlier this season because he killed the Lannister boys who were being held captive. He lost that Lord's banner and men after executing him. That sure came back to haunt the Starks. He wouldn't have even been at this guy's castle if he would've listened to the "damned fool" Edmure Tully and not executed him.

I don't really like Robb so much as I like the Starks as a whole.

Exactly. Even though cat and rob were acting dumb as fuck, I wouldn't like Arya having an even worse childhood than she is having.

It's kind like family, some are a little slow but you don't want them to die because of that
