The pregnant belly stab was the most fucked up thing about it to me. It actually lessened the impact of Robb and Cat's deaths because it was just so horrific.

I wanna believe thats sarcasm....

It's certainly going to happen if the show passes the books.

Just talk about the stuff you have seen on the show and there are no problems, start talking about stuff in the book that i haven't seen is.

my only contribution so far ha been telling the non-book readers to disregard that stupid "GOOGLE THAT THINGIE" advice - because, again, if you want to be unspoiled regarding this series you don't google anything about it or read youtube comments. If you, as a non-book reader, are worried about some character and want to learn his/her fate, you should PM a book reader or go to Tower of the Hand (a website in which you can "customize" the information, depending on how many of the books you've read). Avoid the ASOIAF wiki, it's spoilerific.

That's all dudes and dudettes :)

You've just described every character in the show who seeks any element of power. A person's name is how the line of succession works, and where respect is received. It's why it's viewed as such an insult and a detriment to be given the Snow name.

At least Rob Stark actually went out on his own and fought with his men for what he felt he deserved. Tywin went out there and fought battles. Ned Stark gave his life for his family.

Daenerys not only has no right or reason for anything she wants, but she has the audacity to order other people to get it for her while she orders the next plate of biscuits and wine.

But I'm not particularly attracted to any of the characters who crave power. I love Arya, littlefinger and Tyrion the most because they don't give a shit about being boss king and having everything. They just do their own thing.

Haha, it's ok buddy. I did go searching wiki though, for a plot summary because I was sure that wasn't in that scene!

About the "bedding" did anyone notice that the girl looked like she was being carried off to her death? I mean I've heard of bracing yourself but that was crazy. Didn't she know that was gonna happen when she was laughing and eating grapes beforehand haha.

Y-you spoiled us? Duuuuuude.

What he said wasn't a spoiler, as 1. you've already seen it now, 2. it wasn't in the show and doesn't impact anything down the line whatsoever.

Also man, the talisa stabbing was whack. Her face was just really uncomfortable to watch.

I dont think you understand how this works

Ha, this is how I felt. Even though there was no reason for Frey to let them stay alive, there was still some small hope (apparently, in whatever fantasy I'm living in) Robb and Catelyn could still survive some how.
I kept telling myself somehow this was going to happen as the scene played out. Reminds me of that short film about the guy who concocts a fantasy in his head about the rope snapping and his subsequent escape as he's being hanged. I refused to believe it was really happening...

Feels bad man.

I was expecting something bad to happen... but not this. It was revolting, disgusting and suitably awful. Amazing hour of television. Michelle Fairley deserves an Emmy for that scene.

Yeah that was really fucked up, I thought that guy was just gonna go straight for the neck of something. Poor little Ned Stark the second. :(

Yeah, Dany would really be a lot of help out on the battlefield. Especially with that lifetime of arms training by an experienced knight like Ned and Robb had (and probably Tywin). If you dislike her, that's on you. But your arguments are just so unjustified.

People said the same thing at the end of S1. As much of a gut punch this event was, it sets up a whole bunch of interesting things to come.

meh you could see that coming though... This was WWWWWWWAAAY worse... I just don't care anymore.. there is no point... I'm just gonna watch to see how it plays out but caring is pointless now. Plus its all expected now season 4 ep 9 something will happen.... I really hope ratings don't go down but I will not be surprised if a lot of viewers quit the show from this.
I love Arya and Dany's characters but if they died meh... thats game of thrones..

I truly want what Dany seen in the warlock castle to happen though soooooo bad... King's Landing all fucked up..

Are we watching the same show?? Littlefinger is hardly a person unconcerned with power.

a slit throat would have been quicker, and i guess people are more desensitized to that than MULTIPLE STAB ATTACKS TO THE PREGNANT BELLY

I think that was easily the best ninth episode in the show's three-season history. So much juicy plot stuff, and everything handled pitch perfectly. I really have to applaud the show creators for outdoing themselves tonight. The cast too.

Right? Fucking brutal, that moment.

Can someone explain Daenerys' right to the throne real quick?

last living descendant of the previous ruling family - the Mad King was her father, Robert Baratheon's rebellion ended that dynasty and the Baratheons became the Royal House.

Daenerys believes the Baratheons are usurpers and the Throne is hers by right.

Her brother (not the douchey dead one from Season 1) was overthrown by the Starks, Baratheons, and Lannisters. I imagine since she's the last of her lineage, she's the only one capable of making a claim to the throne.

Thanks

And Gvaz below too :D

Dany's father was the mad king Aerys. Her and her brother were removed and sailed across the sea. Dany's cousins were murdered in the red keep, so her and her brother are all that's left of the Targs. The throne was forcibly usurped by the Baratheons. Because his brother had the throne and died, and joffrey is illegitimate, Stannis by right has the right to the throne in terms of succession.

However, Dany sees the baratheons as usurpers to the throne that's been in her family for 300 years, so she technically has a "right" to the throne.

That seems pretty legit. What is that guy complaining about?

No idea really he just been crazy lol

Dany and Stannis have the strongest claims on the Throne at moment

Stannis because of his brother Robert and due to fact Joffery is not a true Baratheon

Bish in the house, I still just feel like a pile of mud after this episode. I sitting here all stoned with my headphones on and then blah, a little far IMO.

No, it was her father who was overthrown (Aerys, the Mad King). Dany had two older brothers; the oldest was Rhaegar, and then Viserys after him (the douchey one).

Man fuck this shit seriously. I hope the dragons just burn everything.

I won't want to live on this Westeros anymore.

:lol Seriously I want them to lay waste to the world

Just what I was thinking. The whole series i have been putting off feeling any kind of sympathy for dany and her dragons, because I think she has no real claim to the throne, her father was the mad king! A crazy bastard that deserved his fate.

But after this? I want to see everyone but bran, his brother and their respective entourage and arya survive the sea of fire the dragons bring. Burn everything! even the wall, I dont give a fuck anymore. Let the white walkers and the wildlings pick whats left of this fucking land. Damm it I hate the lannisters! I want to see twyin and joffreýs head being roasted slowly before this is done.

Wow, so that happened.

I knew that Robb wasn't making it out of this season alive because I had googled him a year ago and saw his date of death in the FIRST FUCKING GOOGLE RESULT, but wasn't expecting it to be like this.

I wonder how Edmure is going to take this. Is he in bed with the Lannisters like Roose was?

and since Rhaegar was killed by Robert during the Rebellion and Viserys... well, was crowned by Drogo back in S1, she's the only one remaining.

Yeah, Google is pretty much one giant spoiler for this series. Stay well away if you hope to enjoy the show with fresh eyes.

Ah, oops. I knew it was Aerys, but was thinking that was her older brother for some reason.

I need to read the books. Too many details to keep and lose track of.

They are not. What her capabilities are is irrelevant, if she isn't willing to go out with her slaves she has no business being entitled to anything. Arya is leagues ahead of this girl in every way as she's brave and honorable despite weighing less than 100lb.

Daenerys has no strategic or leadership experience either but she has no problem pretending she can approve of these decisions too, because it's in the safety of her home. She is a complete egomaniac freak like Joffrey.

Are we watching the same show?? Littlefinger is hardly a person unconcerned with power.

I didn't mean to suggest he was unconcerned with it, just that he doesn't claim rights to ownership over everyone and everything based on his name. He fucks with people and does sneaky shit here and there in order to put himself in nice side positions, but I don't get the impression he would be interested in being king.
