I dont think you understand how this works

HBO isn't likely to sit on their hands waiting however long for GRRM finish the series. They're a business and they intend to keep some level of consistency in their programming. What GRRM and the rest are hoping is that his books are written in a time span that allows for them to be ahead of the show. But that is hardly a guarantee, and it shouldn't surprise anybody if they lag behind. GRRM can fairly easily tell them what happens, and already has to some degree, and they'll just adapt that.

Interested in getting into the series, where can I watch season one? Of course season 2 is on demand but not season one
Netflix has it on disk, but I'm not sure that's what you're looking for. I don't use their streaming service anymore so I'm not sure if it's available through that.

I am not sure whether to hate or love the show right now.

Flaw free execution, but I am getting a bit tired of becoming invested in soon to be dead characters.

He has said that he has more pressure now to finish the books quickly.

Even still I think it will probably be another 3 to 4 seasons before we get to the end of the latest book, ADWD.

First time posting in this thread because this episode just kicked the shit out of my brain.

But now i'm reading spoilers about the book. What the fuck? Guess it's time to leave this thread.

I just finished watching tonights episode and holy fucking jesus christ what the fuck did i just watch? Oh my lord man. I can't believe that just happened. I couldn't take that shit. They fucking killed the baby and the way the mother was crying out for Rob. Somebody help me please.

Yes, i had manly tears in my eyes. I don't give a fuck. This is fucking bullshit.

at least they are already dead...

daaaaaaaaamn... what a way to go out... winterfell...

robb!

he should have married the girl... she was worth it!
he should have kept the kingslayer hostage!

he could have had a decent army to fight the lanisters. his sister could have been home

damn... fuck the wooooorld!

They are not. What her capabilities are is irrelevant, if she isn't willing to go out with her slaves she has no business being entitled to anything. Arya is leagues ahead of this girl in every way as she's brave and honorable despite weighing less than 100lb.

Daenerys has no strategic or leadership experience either but she has no problem pretending she can approve of these decisions too, because it's in the safety of her home. She is a complete egomaniac freak like Joffrey.

I didn't mean to suggest he was unconcerned with it, just that he doesn't claim rights to ownership over everyone and everything based on his name. He fucks with people and does sneaky shit here and there in order to put himself in nice side positions, but I don't get the impression he would be interested in being king.

Again, your arguments are unjustified. What opportunities has she even had to fight with the troops? She uses the Unsullied to attack Astapor, and she uses her dragon to burn the slaver. Then, she goes to Yunkai. She isn't able to attack it directly, so three of her best soldiers sneak into the city in an attempt to open the main gate and let her army in. Not sure where Dany is supposed to come in with all of this. Maybe she could have some scenes walking among the Unsullied so it would look cool? Not sure.

Also Dany doesn't have a lot of strategic experience, hence why she has her knights advise her. But she has also been able to make strong decisions of her own. If you're really comparing her to Joffrey...I just can't understand where you're coming from.

And yet he's been working on a 16 trillion page coffee table book instead.

Which'll be nice, but get your priorities straight, broseph.

They can't put as much time into characters as the book can with exposition or internal monologue but I think it says volumes if something like Ned's beheading or the Red Wedding scene get people rather emotional. Yeah, they died but their arc was pretty much over or it had to happen to get the plot moving again.

a non-book reader asked a question about the book.

I mean, i stand by the mod's ruling but seriously now. The change in the characters is irrelevant.

It's a spoiler about the book. Some of us would like to read the book someday. What he just said, without tags no less, just spoiled one of the differences I would have enjoyed to read on my own.

It's shitty.

This is not a book thread
Indeed, but someone DID ask:
the multiple stabs to the belly is in the book?

I would have just PMed the guy or put it in tags, or just not answered at all, I guess (then again, don't ask these questions maybe?)

It's not a big thing and he didn't spoil anything, FWIW. So don't worry non-readers. But yeah if someone here asks a question that a book reader can answer but that would spoil something, just... don't say anything and pretend no one asked, ok?

Doesn't mean I have to like it.

The plot better get its ass moving. I can only deal with so much bad news.

So does Edmure Tully now become the king of the North? Isnt he gonna be ticked off that all the people he came with just got murdered?

Then take it to the book thread? It's STILL a book spoiler. If its not in the show its not in the books thus making it a book spoiler no?

Book readers should not be answering questions, and show watchers should not be asking about the books in this thread. If you want to ask about the books, go to the book spoiler show thread.

I don't think this was mentioned much but did anyone else love the Unsullied leader guy's fighting? He was a badass with that spear, spinning it around and just a badass.

hot damn. I wish Episode 10 would air tomorrow so I could have a bit of resolution to what just happened.

It's shitty.

You're complaining about something on the level of someone having a different haircolor that doesn't work into enjoyment of a character or spoiling future events in any way.

I won't spoil anything by talking about the books, I'm just pointing out the asinine argument being put out there. :|

Anyways I'll leave you to your devices and lurk instead now.

Yes, Grey Worm was pretty badass considering I thought he was just some lanky fool with a shield and spear.

Ok i said i was going to bail because of book spoilers but I need to be talking about this show.

I don't know how Rob's arc was done. Is his arc that he made a mistake and died? That's not nearly as interesting to me as the proposed siege on Casterly Rock (sp?). And is the mother's arc that she watches everyone die and then dies? Because that's shitty.

Half of me wants to watch next week's episode right now... and the other half wishes I never watched this show.

Thank you, bish. <3

I'm sorry, I'm kind of embarrassed with this thread as someone who has read the books :( Sorry guys.

Hugs to Kisaya. Gurl <3

There is no argument. I mean damn guys its in the OP no book spoilers. Asking about it and answering a question about it... Like gurl bye @ that mess

I don't think I have ever been as completely and utterly destroyed by TV before. There are no words.

Who the fuck do I root for now?

I sat in disbelief after the show. My GF walked in and asked what's wrong? I looked distraught, I told her everyone I care for is dying.
