I'm holding out for a hero.
Ask in the book thread.
Just a characters recap from GoT at this point (S3-EP9).
You might be confusing Alton Lannister (Jaime's cousin, who was locked up in that cage with him) with Gendry... they kinda look alike. He's the guy next to Brienne. Gendry is at 11x4, next to the Hound.
In regards to the story... I'm not sure where they go from here. All the good guys are pretty much gone.
Remaining "good guys":
-Jon Snow
-Arya
-Bran/Jojen/Jojen's sister
-Rickon/Osha
-Tyrion
-Daenarys (let's ignore all the sacking)
-Brienne (who is now totally free of her duties so maybe she'll just do one)
-Jaimie (he just hides it well).
At this point I hope the story for Arya becomes about her training to become an elite assassin. Get trained in brutal swordplay by the dark hound later leaves to search for the magician/assassin to learn magic and be a stealth assassin. Probably won't happen but the red hair witch did say to Arya that she would have lots of bloodshed on her hands or something like that.
Jaime as a "good guy" lol.

He's an utter prick, but you saw the bath scene. He's got a heart of gold, he's just massively in denial about it.

-Daario (I BELIEVE IN DAARIO. His motive (shagging Dany) is fair and just, and he seems relatively incorruptible... for the time being
-Brienne (who is now totally free of her duties so maybe she'll just do one)
-Jaimie (he just hides it well)

Anyways, great episode. Now you know why Tywin has been writing letters all season. And to clear something up, "The Lannisters send their regards" is not a family saying, "A Lannister always pays his debts" is. The "sends their regards" line comes from what Jaime says to Roose when leaving Harrenhall. Something like, in regards to the upcoming wedding, "Tell Robb Stark the Lannisters send their regards." Naturally, Roose was nice enough to pass along Jaime's message, although it had a much different meaning from what Jaime intended. No, Jaime had nothing to do with the Red Wedding; he was too busy being a prisoner, getting his hand cut off and fighting bears to have any part in planning that.
Jaime actually is a good guy. In the books, you have the benefit of seeing things from his point of view (from the third book on), and it turns out he's just misunderstood. Just a dude that really loves his sister.I personally like Jamie, but you've got to have some pretty messed up morals to toss a child out of a window. He's not a good guy, he may have been humbled by recent events, but I don't see him every being as good as any of the rest on this list.
What are you referring to, the "Lannisters send their regards" message?Did you just both confirm and discredit the idea that there's a connection in that message?![]()

The next bright star to bring up the books in here is getting punted for a good long while.
I don't understand why everyone is so angry. I kind of think Robb and Catelyn had it coming. I mean he really shouldn't have broken his promise and it's not like he didn't have blood on his hand either. He should not have killed the guy who was obviously acting out of the pain of having his son killed and not getting any justice. Catelyn has been getting on my nerves also because of her dumb decisions undermining the effort to win the war.
I'm still happy because Jon Snow is my favorite character anyway.
....
Why do people say Brienne is free of her oath? She still has to get Sansa doesn't she? Just because Cat is dead doesn't mean that she is freed from all obligations.

Don't count the Starks out.
Call me crazy, but I still think the end will be a time for wolves.
Book Shit
Wasn't her job just to get Cap. Hook home?
I really hope it doesn't end with the Starks having a happy ending. That would be too much of a fairytale ending which wouldn't fit the series at all. As in real life, the good guys don't always win (actually most of the time they don't) so I hope this story ends that way too.
I have liked Jon from the very beginning. I relate to him a lot.
Interested to see what happens next week
Shagga is the only one who can save us now.
