Boo hoo, you went into a thread to try and instigate shit, and got mad when people treated you badly. Now you're coming back to your "own" thread, to complain about these "other" people with people you're more comfortable with, looking for sympathy and hoping for group support where others can also shit on these perceived "enemies" of yours. Don't give me that shit. That's not what this forum is about.

Generalizing on a large group of people based on a few bad eggs is a bad outlook on life. :P

I don't give a fuck about them, it was the principle of the thing. If I got butt hurt over people being assholes on the internet I wouldn't last very long here or anywhere else. I don't give a fuck about sympathy or support, that wasn't why I was posting. I replied back to their shit talk. Is that an issue? I'm not in that thread anymore because I feel I made my point. I was made aware of the continued shit talking via spoiler tags after I'd left by someone that PMd me. I told you about it, rather than going back and getting into it with them and actually causing a problem. So I'm not sure I see why I got that kind of reply from you based on what was said. If I was still going in there and going back and forth I could see that but I'm not.

Not worth it man, let it go. Just stick to this thread and work with everyone here. Best you can hope for is that there's one thread on the damn internet where book-spoilers are banned.

Getting worked up over assholes in other threads will just get you a headache and cause drama and be no good for all of us, we should really just focus on having fun here and now and hope the jerks are weeded out faster than they can spoil.

That part kind of threw me off. I get that this dude is basically friendzoned, but christ. It's like watching someone kick a puppy.

So my wife is hella into the show. I thought she would be severely turned off by what happened in episode 9 but it fucked me up more than it did her. That was a role reversal. She's hella gung-ho about going forward. She doesn't much care if things are spoiled so I think she's actually read the wiki all the way up to the latest book.

I was confused about Jorah and crew getting ambushed. Then suddenly popping up saying all done. It was a little disconcerting. Was it a trap? I keep feeling I missed something. I might need to watch that bit again.

The soldiers of Yunkai were all slaves, so they lay down their weapons with the promise of Dany freeing them.

I hear you.

After this past episode, I'm a bit hesitant to care about the rest of the characters you know? Like Dany could be amassing this army and then get stung by a scorpion and die just because of this attitude of "Hey anything could happen!" I realize people dying, main characters dying, is a pretty big shake up to the usual tropes we see in shows but at this point, I'm not sure how much more they could do without disengaging me completely. The starks at this point had been setup pretty much as the good guys, especially in the face of monsters like Joffrey. With what happened now its like "Fuck man, who is there to root for?" I don't particularly find Dany's army building that interesting. I don't like the new dude that's rolling with her. The only real interesting part of the show for me now is what's going to happen to Jon. I'm still kind of laughing at him busting Iggritte's ass and running.

If you have a problem with something posted on the forum which you feel is against the rules, you can PM a mod. If you are offended by what someone said about you, you can PM a mod. Whining about "other people" on the forum almost always derails a thread, and turns into meta-discussions about something else rather than the thread's actual contents.

It's a problem everywhere, and needs to improved one step at a time. If you don't want to make the problem worse, you should stop doing the same thing they are doing. You were upset that some people in the other thread are basically whining about behavior in this thread. Yes, that's stupid of them. But after engaging with them, you come back in here to do the same thing. Don't you see how it's just a childish cycle of pointless spats?

That's why I'm not in there still getting into it with them. I didn't know pointing it out was whining but if that's how you want to classify it, cool. It's not my forum. Carry on.

Might want to be a bit careful with gifs, especially if they're massive spoilers. With E3 around the corner, and people looking for material to make gifs with, it would really suck if inconsiderate spoiler-gifs started popping up in unrelated threads. :/

don't worry, GAF will be too busy being down for anyone to post any spoiler .gifs during E3

:V

I have a problem, I keep listening to The Rains of Castamere over and over again on youtube....

The wait for season 4 is going to be soul crushing. Like waiting for new Breaking Bad episodes.

Aye, for me Jon is a key character now.

He seems like a good guy and as he's a son of Ned Stark so he should be able to do something about the killings.

Also can't understand the hate he seems to get on messageboards around the world.

Does Jon Snow have any claim to Winterfell? I guess not because he's a bastard and member of the Nightwatch? Which of the two prevents his claim to winterfell?

Yeah, same. I don't get it.

Also, anybody else get tripped up by the fact that the family was almost back together? When I saw the look in Kat's eyes, what struck me about it was this is a woman who thinks her entire family is dead. That look of surrender at the end was horrifying.

I still find it funny that Joffery not only has no right being a king, in fact his incest background would be looked down upon, yet there he is acting like he thinks he's a god. It's hilarious.

I'm one of the ones who loves watching Joffery on screen, the guy is hilarious.

People underestimating him is one of his greatest strengths.

I'm on the Jaime train. Along with Varys and Tywin, he's my favorite character. Saves half a million from being burned alive and is condemned for it because he hid the facts. Tries to murder a small child for finding him banging his own sister and coldly kills his cousin to escape a cage, and later on saves a woman from rape, imprisonment, and likely death. Once a cocky swordsman, now missing his sword hand.

Just an awesome character.

How do you know the book backstory won't become relevant in the tv show? Can you be 100%?

Example: Some gaffer commented a while ago that Robb's tv wife was NOT from the books (in this form) and they were combining two characters.

A seemingly harmless commentary about the books.

But after 5 seconds of thinking, this means that her actions may not actually be that impacting on the series as a whole. They can't be, there's at least 2 more books coming without this character.

Then after she reveals she's pregnant, this means that a character who wasn't relevant suddenly has a VERY important role. But since GRRM has written 3 more books past this point (another seemingly harmless commentary) this means that her character's pregnancy can't be part of the main story.

Which means either

1) She'll be irrelevant to the greater story by default.
2) She HAS to die. And no, the argument that "anyone can die" does not work, because there's a difference between inevitable and possible.

See what I mean? Her entire character ruined by a single harmless comment on book backstory.

And as a final salt for that wound, after some jerk ruined Robb's death for me, I already knew she and her unborn child had to die with him since there was no way they'd be able to incorporate a WHOLE NEW character into the next two books.

Demonstrating that even knowing there's more books ruins things too.

I know you mean well. You seem nice. But please realize literally ANY COMMENT FROM THE BOOKS CAN RUIN ANYTHING. Even if you don't think it will.
Exactly. Once I learned that she wasn't in the books, thanks to this thread, it was pretty damn obvious. Same with the whore chick as a matter of fact. The one Joffrey tortured/killed. I remember reading that role was expanded or created for the show. No surprise they'd eventually run out of use for her.
