UC2 was not only an unbelievably well crafted game, it was also technologically stunning. Next-gen might not be here, but it's already embedded in the press, TLoU isn't going to wow people on that level.

why not, Super mario galaxy wasn't anywere near next gen
it killed

You're joking but after all the positive impressions today I'm a little hyped for Remember Me. Seems to be a good one to play until next Friday.

Yeah Remember Me actually looks kind of fun, I mean Alpha Protocol didn't score so high but I love that game still and many here seem to have liked it.

Wow that Uncharted 3 thread is awful.

Can't believe you said such a nasty thing to Jim Acqui :( Hopefully you changed your stance by now!

Stance on what? Destructoid is the pits, just to a lesser extent now. And I didn't say it to him; he wasn't even a member back then. You're allowed to call someone "fat" on here, just visit any Adele thread, but add a "fuck" afterwards and it becomes unacceptable? The problem was, it was intended as a flippant remark, but it was a remark made in a thread that was quickly becoming tumultuous, and when things get heated on here the last thing you want to do is anything that could be seen as fanning the flames. I know that now.

To this day I still find it amusing that I appeared three times on a wall of shame revolving around a single 8/10 review, without ever actually once protesting about said review. One of my posts on the list was edited to cut out what I thought about Eurogamer's score, leaving the part where I expressed unabashed joy that IGN gave every component a perfect score... so what. I was hyped to the gills - sue me. The other post was blatant sarcasm in response to what a mod had said. Whether some people didn't pick up on that or chose not to, I don't know, but I made it clear it was sarcasm after it appeared on the list and Mama Robotnik chose to ignore me anyway. *shrug*

Sorry to go off-topic, but if people are going to keep bringing that thread up then I had to clear the air on a couple of things.

People need to calm down and just accept Naughty Dog as your new developer overlords.

Also, just going to say, Uncharted 2's 96 based on 105 critics is more impressive than SMG's 97 based on 73 critics. Both very impressive scores, true, but UC2 is the game of the generation. People should just come to terms with it. It's been years now.

While i appreciated most of Naughty Dog's work in the years i can't of course be sure of the quality of The Last Of Us.

Everything i've seen till today screams quality however, and Edge's review surprised me, a lot, considering their attitude, they've always been critical of everything, and always low on scores.

Could be moneyhatting of course.

Or maybe not...

I think we can all agree that Portal 2 is the game of the generation.

If this game has a real sad ending (like they make you shoot the girl or you shoot yourself or the girl shoots you), I get the feeling that it will be more susceptible to a hyperbolic honeymoon period. "Sad" gets special treatment as far as emotions go, in fact some people go as far to treat it like the only "emotion".

As BIONIC-ARRRMMMM will attest to, I play all my games for emotional response.

Red Dead Redemption was my GOTG until Bioshock Infinite, but I've always held the belief in the back of my mind since E3 2012 that The Last of Us will probably end up being my GOTG.

Bioshock came out of nowhere, I wasn't really expecting to like that one as much as I did (the first one is good, not great, and I'm completely apathetic towards the second), but TLoU is the real deal I've been waiting for.

So what if Sterling gives it an 8 or 9 out of 10? It's his opinion and those aren't bad scores. The only thing that would bother me if he didn't give me a good reason for those scores.

The Last of Us |OT| Are You Gonna Eat That?

The Last of Us |OT| Feast or Famine

The Last of Us |OT| Shhhhhh

The Last of Us |OT| 8/10

The Last of Us |OT| Truffle Shuffle

I'm only buying this game if he gives it a 10/10.

I'll be too traumatised otherwise to concentrate while playing the game.
