It really would. Played Crackdown about 2 weeks ago and was just imagining how it would look on the Xbox one with a better detail world and better graphics. Man oh man.

Been saying this for months.

Went back to C2 and the thought of what could be accomplished with Next Gen tech and the right developer just makes me wonder how is it even possible that this hasn't been greenlighted.

I would want a reboot to start a fresh or maybe even ignore Crackdown 2 and make a new Crackdown 2 sequel.

I agree. I say make it years and years after C2. At the end of the Day, they could even take the Sony route and avoid the whole number sequel thing and try a reboot that way.

If I they asked me what would have made my head explode at E3 (other than Crackdown 3 & Shadow Complex 2) for the MS presentation it would have been a line-up that rebooted these games

Panzer Dragoon
Otogi
Shenmue

Morning folks, 4 days til dem megatons start dropping.

Of all Microsoft Studio's IPs, I can't think of a single one that will benefit from the vastly increased RAM (for world detail) and graphics (for...graphics) than Crackdown. Except possibly Conker
but lol you can't have that

It's most likely Crackdown 3 at this point, but I'll take an Anniversary too.

Damn your time machine! It's still 5 days here =P

I'm hoping for something in the MMO sphere...something unique, large scale, exclusive, addictive lol

And Infinite Undiscovery 2...i loved that game, favorite JRPG of this gen >.>

If your gonna go the RPG route for Megaton then I'd go Lost Odyssey 2 to make all of us spit our drinks out. But 'Knights of the Old' would make tears roll down OG Xbox fans' eyes.

Crackdown 3: I want to be able to blow up buildings. I want to be able to level the city in my aimless attempts searching for orbs.

IMO the city needs to be a lot bigger. That, aaaaaaaand:

- 1080P
- 60 FPS
- MOAR of everything
- Slow down the level up speed.
- 16 player online
- MOAR

If you're gonna go OG like that...

why not a sequel to Sudeki, JSRF 2, KOTOR 3, Beyond Good and Evil 2 and Psychonauts 2?

Throw a sequel to Jade Empire as a X1 exclusive and I'll take a 3rd job just to buy all the games.

Ridiculous wishlist...but hey, a man can dream right?

A wise friend once told me, "Always shoot for the stars, because even if you fail you'll just burn up in the atmosphere or reach terminal velocity and cake the ground with your remains. An honorable death."

I used to know a guy who loved Infinite Undiscovery, you ain't him right? :P

I have reason to believe LO2 is a thing and with Osaka available to potentially reboot old Japanese orientated franchises, IU2 isn't out of the question.

Also in before Dinner Dance.

Unless you're in Washington, it would be pretty hard for me to be that guy. It's almost a guilty pleasure with the hatred it got.

So what if the map system was terrible...and the VA was laughably bad at points? It was still an awesome game.

LO2 does sound like a good possibility. I still haven't finished the first though >.>

Only RPG that lets you go through an entire funeral ceremony.

Never got around to infinite. But then again I never finished Star Ocean 4 back in the day either.

LO was the most successful out of the bunch and it would be amazing to see if they could top that intro cutscene.

definitely play IU. It feels like a very traditional JRPG, but there are a bunch of really interesting design choices.

For all the people that played FFXIII, to think that they couldn't try this game out and get a better experience...

This thread seems so empty =(

I really, really hope Microsoft impresses on Monday. Most of my friends have Xboxes, I'd hate to have to be the black sheep come this time next year.

Oh dear god, I just read through the Forza 5 60 FPS thread and I can't believe the lengths the hate train people will go over gaming consoles.

I'm just glad there's this one thread with some sanity left. I think I'm done going into other Xbox One threads for awhile. It's going to be worse after E3. Unless MS unveils 40 JRPGs, it seems GAF isn't going to be happy.

I definitely want to see what Black Tusk and Lionheads MMO like game is, even if it's a Fable MMO. I think Lionheads is going to do greater things without Molyneux.

I'm going to post this here because i find it hilarious:

Thanks FordGTGuy
Hilarious for many reasons.

Let's not straw man the entire board.

Hmm, I'm pretty content with the current confirmed/rumored lineup, plus all of the exclusives I know will come in the future like Halo and Alan Wake. But what could they announce that would have me giggling like a little girl?

Either of these...

1. A next gen Altered Beast done like a mix of Dante's Inferno/Dark Souls (open world), or...

2. Star Wars done Borderlands style but with full loot/equipment not just guns.

*sigh* A man can dream.

They're dragging this out aren't they! At GamesCom we'll then have to wait for TGS :)

I'd rather each game gets time for a proper showing rather than the Sony style sizzle reels or half a minute nebulous CG trailers.

Crackdown 3 needs a new city. They can't go to the same well again.

I really hope we get a new Crackdown.

I don't think there can be much doubt about it, even OXM is talking like it's certain.

Good morning, fellas, let's do this thing.

TGS would be a good place to reveal Osaka's game, assuming it's ready to be shown.

E3 would be a good place as well, since the game is probably meant for the worldwide audience. Lost Odyssey and Blue Dragon were first shown at E3, right? I can't be bothered to check, but I think they were there in 2005.

OK guys, State of Decay - Great XBLA game or greatest XBLA game?

Morning dude.

To be fair, I'm not sure MS Osaka's game(s) would be ready for any decent showing before TGS, could be wrong. If rumours are to be believed they've absorbed a bit of talent from Feelplus and others, so I'm looking forward to it regardless.

Which reminds me, it's coming...

That moment was incredible the first time I saw it.

I suspect Microsoft is going to go on quite a bit of a hunting spree for talent in Japan, now that they've got a studio over there. The rumor about that Cave producer joining them has already been mentioned, but what other experienced developers could they be eying? I already mentioned it half-jokingly, but surely they would at least attempt to get Ueda on their side now that he's not with Sony anymore?

I don't post often, but just wanted to say - "Thank GOD for this thread!" The insane amounts of vitriol and hate the XO is getting makes for tiring reading. Console warriors are a strange, strange breed. The frequent posters in this thread deserve a pat on the back for remaining hopeful in spite of all the negativity.

Still 4 days guys. 4 days. :) (Put me on that train)

You're crazy for wanting the highlighted to happen. I would suggest making many more available levels and upgrades through continued play instead. I remember in CD1/2 I was getting direly bored of playing to level up abilities I didn't care about or were just a pain to level up in general. Instead of 5 levels for each ability make it 50 and add more nuance into the abilities themselves as you hit each 5th level. For intance, leveling up the driving would still evolve the look of your agent cars, but when you hit level 30 civilian cars also evolve. Then at level 40 you gain the ability to remote control any vehicle in the game, and at level 50 you can remote detonate any vehicle (including the one you are remote driving).

Obviously there are better options to keep people playing for longer instead of drawing out each level to being unbearably long in the tooth. I would rather see them make me want to keep playing through contant upgrades by naturally playing, not forcing me to play a certain way to make it so my character wasn't useless. If only I could make decision for these peoples :'(

Yes. I hope Class 4 happens on Xbox One.

A friend told me it reminded him of Dark Souls. It's that good.

Ueda would be a sensible choice, a betrayalaton sure, but I think Microsoft are investing for the long term and I could see them trying to get him on board.

There will almost certainly be a talent hunting spree, I'm thinking Capcom, being also in Osaka, could provide choice pickings.

Those are interesting ideas, but I'm not always convinced by games trying to add more depth and complexity to a simple gameplay.
I may be alone on this, but I liked for example how the first Diablo on PC was a fun and straightforward game : just beef up your character by collecting anything in your path, and you'll end up with a powerful character. Then came Diablo 2 with skill trees, customization, crafting etc. Most found it great, and I enjoyed the game too, but I still prefer the original recipe.

What if Lionhead's MMO is them finally making the Halo MMO? I don't think it's too likely, especially since I would hope Microsoft wouldn't trust something so important to a first time MMO developer. Just contract one of the veted teams to make it: Blizzard, NCsoft, Turbine, etc...

I think if there is one franchise they would bring into full blown MMO territory it would be Halo over Fable. Fable doesn't have the following for a long term MMO play in the marketplace. I would wager they would have better luck with a brand new IP over making a Fable MMO.

It doesn't seem like Lionhead's game with MMO elements is a full-on MMORPG.

This is to assist in the development of a major brand new IP that is being targeted for the future generation of platforms and will be an RPG based game with a radical new take on how co-operative and multiplayer gameplay feeds into the experience, while blending online and single-player into one complete experience.

...complex progression system, multiple routes through the campaign, and an MMO like multiplayer experience that will affect the outcome of the player experience, and many other attributes surrounding their profile (such as the environment and the outcome of certain actions).

I imagine it will have some persistent world elements to it, but I doubt it will be anything like your standard MMO. In fact, with promised cloud processing, I can see a lot of Xbox One games being like that.

Morning fellas! Who's excited for more Microsoft Studios' games?
This guy is! Bring it on!

Just 4 days! I almost can feel the smell of new games :D
