Just been watching the new Sonic Wii U video. Looks amazingly good. But also makes me depressed for several reasons:

- Exclusive to Wii U (not really a problem, as I'll be buying one)
- Another seemingly great platformer not on a Microsoft console
- Microsoft has had every opportunity in the world to make a great platformer themselves with two of the best franchises in gaming (Conker and Banjo), and has instead squandered it terribly.

Every time I hear one of those smarmy MS execs claim that they're "first and foremost a gamer" I want to punch them in the face. How can you claim to be a gamer, buy the rights to Banjo, and then leave him to die on the vine like that? Those assholes.

As for now Xbox One is a hybrid digital distribution platform, regardless of how they do it, it's.
Having now ditched XBLArcade and Games on Demand by unifying into one whole sole marketplace, it might enables to smaller budget games being digital published or more risks be taken without the disc printing and others distribution costs, am I right?

I always wondered if it was MS or Rare that chose the direction for Nuts and Bolts. Did MS want them to evolve the IP or was it something Rare already had in mind.

In theory yes, but you also have to take into account that visibility on a digital marketplace is quite difficult to achieve, especially for smaller pubs that can't afford dashboard ads.

Which is why I'm hoping a portion of the dash will be devoted to a Netflix style list of "Games you might enjoy based on your previous purchases". I know they have a small section of the games tab on 360 that kind of has that, but it would go a long way towards incentivizing people to check out stuff they haven't heard about.

However, I think now would be a perfect time for the traditional platformer.

Yea it's hard to believe, but at one point military shooters were not really that popular, or open world games. For platformers to come back someone needs to take a risk and if it pays off they'll have the next big thing on thier hands.

Edit. All it takes is for one dev to lead the way.

Yes. I'm getting windows 8 (hate it, but I might as well get ready for 9 :/ ).

As for windows 8 features, what about sharing gamesaves and stuff between Xbox One and PC versions? 0_0 .....







Actually guys, the main reason I want it on PC is so I could use it, say, on a surface or surface pro. See, ya'll know Viva Pinata doesn't really have stopping places, and I having to go somewhere when I'm in the middle of romancing for cinnamonkeys or whatever, so playing this on a tablet or laptop sounds awesome. (Of course, I do want to play it on my desktop as well).
