Well, not all of them were innocent, the sudden influx of vocal and probably "professional" juniors was quite obvious, and that suspicion was somewhat confirmed by bishoptl. But it must be harsh for the "real" juniors, who have to face the suspicion of everybody else, and risk the quick punishment of mods (although nobody is safe for that ).

Anyway, I think that come Sunday evening, I'll go on a blackout until the conferences. I don't want to have anything spoiled, and will enjoy them all one after the other.

Game.co.uk put out their E3 schedule out on Twitter, looks like they have 4 meetings with Microsft over E3 and a meeting with every publisher except Sony. Looks like they have picked their side for the next console war then.

eah, I guess. I mean, it's probably a good way to gage how bad meltdowns are going to get with these people. If you approve them at any other time, you may not know how bad they can get, and you'll have a whole lot more banning to do when the time comes. Still, some of these bannings seem a little harsh. Oh well, I'll be careful. :/

Really? The GAME nearby me seems pretty even with their PS3 and Xbox space. There is a poster of Xbox one and no PS4 one. The one in Westfields even has a Vita section.

Two of MS ones are the press conference and a tour. The other's a party they were invited too. Seems more like MS courting them then GAME making a decision which is silly to begin with because the best case scenario for GAME is both consoles doing well.

EDIT: It seems there are actually 5 places where MS appear.

Just as you said the real juniors need to take care and not break the TOS. Lots of juniors will be getting banned but I think bish will be targeting all the suspicious e-mails he mentioned.

Same in my area and in Tesco, it's not really surprising given 360 sells more than the PS3 in UK tho.

So I got a question guys... How would you feel if MS would have just done away with discs completely for the next Xbox and gone all-digital?

To me, I'm looking at what they're doing, and that's clearly the future they are headed towards. Physical games are now just another method to install the digital content like Steam does with their Steamworks DRM (you activate the game, install it from discs, and the discs become useless since it's tied to your account now). It wouldn't surprise me if we got a digital only SKU for the first refresh of the system actually. And when they do, since all games previous to that, even the games you bought at a retailer, would work on the new console since they're tied to your account and don't even need the disc.

When I look at what the 360 and PS3's digital game DRM is, the Xbox One is actually an improvement from what we had this gen, because they're trying to make digital games be like physical games. For example, all members of my family group can share all of the games we buy, people can play any of the games on any of the consoles we own. Right now, when I buy a digital game on the 360, everyone can play it on my primary console (which right now is in my bedroom), but only I can play it on the console we have in our living room. The Xbox One fixes that thankfully. I can now give games to other people, and post-launch we should hopefully get the ability to loan and rent games. It would have been best if those features would have been there on Day 1, but hopefully they come during the launch window (after all, they're designing the system to be much easier to update so that it all happens without you knowing). If I were MS, I would make damn sure that adding all of these features to make the transition to digital easier the highest priority.

I totally get peoples complaints about the fact that you can only play for 24 hours if you're offline. Personally, I wish it would have been longer, but at its current state it won't stop me from buying it. However, it's likely that they need this limit so that people can't abuse their system by unplugging console A which has game X installed, then go to console B and give away game X to someone, and still be able to play the game on console A.

I mostly agree. Digital content is obviously what most companies are aiming at, and the next generation will mostly be a transition generation because the market may not be ready yet.
In the light of a digital only market, most of the new conditions make sense, but of course it comes with the downsides of that distribution (mostly being service-based instead of product-based).

What is somewhat ironic, is that such an evolution of our entertainment is in somewhat a return to the past. "Owning" your entertainment is a rather recent trend in our culture. Only one or two generations ago, if you wanted to listen to music, you would go to a pub or a concert, if you wanted to watch a show, you would go to the theater. Entertainment was a service, before technology allowed mass recording and distribution, and turned it into a product.

Too late? GAF has a reputation outside of it for being a Sony hivemind. Not that I necessarily agree with that.

Meanwhile, I think it's best for the mental health of all concerned that we should just ignore the externalities and focus on the thread topic.
