I'm standing up for my rights as a consumer to choose no disk DRM and buy an Xbox one.. doesn't make me any more of a nutjob than who you are describing

Work for MS, huh? Because that's about as brain dead as a woman saying she's standing up against women's suffrage. So clearly you work for M$ or you just can't think for yourself. Go back to reddit you shill.

MS locking up TitanFall as a one year exclusive tells me they're going to push it as the killer app. I'm interested in seeing it tomorrow at the conference.

god damn cboat just unleashing everything. MS telling third parties to not talk about PS4 versions makes me think they are not confident about their exclusive line up.

That's a lot of bait right there lol. I disagree, in fact leading up to this years E3 show MS has been more confident in there lineup of games then Ive ever seen. that could just be reactionary after GAF and many gaming websites shit on them for focusing on multimedia at the console reveal. but all these news stories and tweets about 15 exclusives in the first year of the X1, and investing 1 billion into games, and formations of new studios makes me feel that MS is quite confident in there games studios, but not as confident in their PR which is understandable considering the failures of that branch of the company in the past 3 weeks.

Sony does it. Nintendo would do it if they could garner some 3rd party support. Its typical for companies to try and create the illusion that these games may be exclusive.

Yeah, to me Destiny is starting to feel like a PS game...it's smart for each of these companies to try and make that connection to certain titles if they can, even if it's not an exclusive.

Because they have no exclusives aside from first party and some of those go to pc also. MS has demonstrated a complete inability to keep exclusive content for over a decade. People called me nuts on the TXB forums years back for warning MS that not having genuine exclusives will back fire. Now add that with their anti-consumer stance on DRM/used/trades, their complicity in spying on customers since 2007, take further by the fact that your Xbone will monitor your home 24/7 for thought-crime, and their general assholeness about their new console and basically no one has a reason to buy their machine. Unless you want the N.S.A. watching footage of you Kinect 2.0 Fitnessing...Personally I'll buy the PS4 and/or PC versions and keep my privacy and ownership of my games.

Staying at my friends house about a half mile from the Galen Center. Will be there at 8am ready to get my mind blown(Hopefully!) C'mon Microsoft, do us proud! I can't wait! Hype train has rolled into the station and is unloading passengers now! Got to get to sleep now! I will also be attending the EA conference. This is the first time in almost 5 years I couldn't get in to Sony. Oh well!

We know of several third party exclusives that will appear at E3.

None of which will remain exclusive. Or maybe you missed the memo this gen about how M$ became a complete joke by having to pay for timed exclusives while Nintendo and Sony got genuinely exclusive content that developers didn't even consider porting to Xbox 360. Hell they can't even keep an XBLA game like Dust: An Elysian Tail exclusive and it was built on XNA and development proceeded with prize money from MS! Now it's at least coming to PC and a PS3 port will inevitably happen too just like with every other "exclusive" XBLA game. MS can't keep XBLA titles exclusive how the hell are they going to do so with large budget titles that developers have higher marks for ROI?

Why do I bother? Just do as you're told and go buy your SurveillanceBoxOne along with the 5 other proles who'll be shelling out for it.

Mmm.. this attitude is not good, being aggressive against users is not good for the forum, I guess.

You do realize that Dust was published by Microsoft on PC, right? They get your money either way.

Our Time Travelling Train tells us that many amazing things will be shown tomorrow!

You have to be joking. We have 15 confirmed 1st party exclusives, 8 of those being brand new IPs, this not including any of the third party exclusives-timed or DLC- we have a high chance of getting.

On the topic of Prism, if you're really worried, you should be more concerned about Google your ISP and Mobile Provider which know more about you and more than Microsoft ever will.

Gotta love these juniors with month long accounts and 50 + posts of anti-MS post history.

I guess it's acceptable now.

The mods just popped in and said it was OK to do that because it creates a balanced environment.

No bubbles or shells for anyone.

Emergency broadcast...

This post started kind of on topic...then went on to spew lies about how the kinect is a spy tool that is always on (which Microsoft confirmed that it can be turned off). Even if the kinect was required to be on, the system only needs an online check every 24hrs not perpetual connection...and who at the NSA would want to watch you or any Joe Average do whatever you do while at home? Unless you are a terrorist, then I guess you deserve it. (Not to say I think they should be able to spy on us or I would like it if they did, I'm just pointing it out is all)

Back to your regularly scheduled topic...

Off all the hype that I have for all of the conferences tomorrow, I really fear that Microsoft may not be trying to retain me as a customer. There are a lot of unanswered questions about the console that I am personally hoping to get the answer to soon. I want to know if my space bucks transfer over to the new system and what the family sharing actually consists of specifically. As far as the conference itself, I can imagine that the first half hour will be all about the 360 and the games coming to it, maybe even a new dash redesign to align it more with the X1. The second hour will be all X1 games and services. I want to know what they have improved with XBL and what value they are adding if any at all (do not say the cloud :/).

As far as games. Oh man, I hope they surprise me. As it stands now I will be getting the Playstation 4 over the X1 at launch. There are a few f2p launch games already announced for the PS4 that I am interested in and unless Microsoft can grab me with a game I will be waiting it out until the have a Halo game.

That rant was entertaining to read. Don't let logic get in the way of the tin-foil paranoia too, Surveillance-box is a creative nickname. I, for one, embrace whoever will look at my amazing physique on my Kinect.

And with that last gem above me im out folks. Cant wait for the press conference tomorrow finally see some games, many of which i am legitimately excited for. Forza 5 and Ryse gameplay at the top of my list and the hope for some MEGATONS. (comn banjo)

You stay classy NeoGAF

This is cute, especially that last part

You obviously know nothing about business. Even a small exclusive window is very important. Most of the sales come from the first 6-8 weeks. Most consumers, especially hardcore, don't want to wait. How did Bioshock and Mass Effect do on PS3? Look at the disparity in sales in the US with COD, Fallout 3 and Skyrim with just timed DLC? Believe the ROI is there. GTA IV was known as a Playstation property and they sold almost dead even because of the exclusive DLC.
Once again it's about mindshare. Once people associate a game with a system, the sales take care of themselves. Microsoft AND Sony realize this. every single advantage is important.
That's why I have to buy both consoles to satiate my needs!

I think this opens up the conference because I don't think COD will be there.

I agree that CoD won't be there. The single player reveal was already done and that would have been their tried and true thing. I would say open the show with 360 stuff. Transitional game between 360 and X1 could be Titalfall though. "And one more thing..." Moment should be a bombshell or an unexpected/amazing looking first party title. Start slow, end hard and fast.

I think nowadays MS prefers having a few big blockbuster few for its platform instead of having a wide diversity of exclusives like Sony and Nintendo. I mean franchises like Halo and Forza are huge in terms of success and sales. Some might say this is due to the low quantity of exclusives but real talk whether you like it or not a lot people find a good value and a strong userbase/community for these games. As for XBLA, I think MS has something in store for us. Yes, they discontinued the XNA platform but I'm pretty sur
e something new will replace it.

If you don't bother about these things, I don't see the reason for you to assume XB1 buyers are shelling.

Timed exclusives are a business choice.
If MS wanted almost ANY game exclusive (truly exclusive) they can throw enough money to get one.
The question then becomes: "Why am I paying X amount for true exclusivity, when people will buy it on our console at nearly the same rate if its timed exclusive?"

It's not about "keeping" as many franchises as they can just for the sake of portfolio, they run a business. Whats there to be mad about?

Do you think a dev like Insomniac simply "chose" to make games for Sony for any other reason than them being courted financially by Sony? Don't be daft.

I'm eagerly awaiting MS' conference tomorrow, but I don't think any game will persuade me to get a system that literally takes away consumer rights and shoves DRM down our throats. If Cboat is to be believed and he's been right about much of the information he's leaked so far, MS is literally heading towards the death of console gaming.

Edit: I can't support a company that outright went after anti-consumer policies and acting like it's the publishers doing the pressuring.

It's a stark jarring change thats for sure but it's kind of difficult to see a future without these changes occurring somewhere down the line and in some way, shape or form. Maybe not exactly as MS has laid out, but definitely in the same vein. What Sony chooses to do in the DRM space will be eye opening.

Tomorrow is gamer's Chrismahanukwanzakah!!! Can't wait to see what gets announced. I'm not getting my hopes up for tons of new IPs though.

I'm hoping Microsoft drops bombs tomorrow morning.

That's the best part of any Chrismahanukwanzakah, when you are a kid you get hyped up and exited you are going to get something new and amazing but you end up getting another pair of socks for the year.
