Just got stomped by a Warlock. How can you counter that Ult? Linken's Sphere?

Someone also said that when someone abandons that it shares their gold out to other people, is this true?!

If Warlock is destroying you in team fights, pick up a BKB and pop it as soon as the team fight begins, since he will likely drop it asap when your team is grouped up. That's the other thing, don't group up when a Warlock is on the other team, he will either drop is ult on less people or be too worried about wasting it and wait, allowing you to take him out first.

As for your other question, it essentially boosts the amount of gold the remaining people earn as the afker gets none of the split gold from towers, assists etc.

The game also does do something though where their gold gets split evenly among the rest of the team. I think it might even sell their inventory if its early enough.

Purge instantly kills the golems. Use those diffusal charges!

Also, a good pick up if you're playing certain heroes is a diffusal blade, since it instagibs the golem. Stuff like PL and Riki should always have one, but if you're Slark, BH or even stuff like Kunkka it's always a nice addition (purge is great on more things than the golem) with decent stats to help you with.

Since no one adressed one critical error I will: Linkens only blocks targeted spells. Warlocks ult is targeted on ground so Linkens will do nothing.

Yeah use diffusal blade.

Does purge universally kill illusions/summons? If it does shadow demon and the new radiant int hero would be amazing against warlock.

And what if you're near sentry wards or a hero with a gem? You aren't getting any usefulness out of that SB. Any good team will buy these things for a Slark.
Yes you are, you are getting the stats and the burst. Why would you pounce near the hero with the gem if you're trying to escape?
When it is commonly known that the skills don't stack, there is no "try to understand." The first time I saw someone do that I assumed they were trolling. Nothing tells you that other than Googling it or reading a forum or something, so when it was discovered, of course few people knew. Before I knew and someone in a random doto on the internet told me that, do you really think I would believe them, especially in a game where people can troll like that?
So google it and google slark shadow blade instead of flaming people just because you don't know shit.

How am I flaming you exactly? By disagreeing?

I've played Slark a bunch of times and had a bunch of moments where I thought I could really use a Shadow Blade. I usually go Orchid, but even after the nerf, Shadow Blade is still a really cost effective item.

I could say that about every hero in the game. That doesn't make an item viable on someone.

Orchid Slark is awesome though.

Cancer Lancer got nerfed...trololo

I randomed him while I was on the phone. Somehow when I paid attention to the game I found myself mid vs Sniper. Got first blood on him and then left my mid lane for ganks right away.

Was fun, in the end I was fighting them inside their fountain while they were trying to kill me with no luck...got an Ultra kill there while the cannons were trying to kill an illusion. Not to mention the rampage I got at like minute 15 or so at bot tower 1 vs 5 with DD.

Slarks initiation range is pretty low. Shadow Blade allows to get solo kills a lot more easily. Again, the attack speed/damage are still really good, even without the invis.

had a horrible day of dota. lost 5 in a row,.. :( usually things go well but I'm playing bad and my team mates have been equally so(meaning worse)

I'm finding that I'm spending more time recently watching Dota, talking about Dota, and listening to people talk about Dota 2 on podcasts than I have been spending playing the game. Admittedly I'm not very good at the game but I still find it fascinating. Anyone else like this?

sblade slark is fine, even post-nerf. One of the biggest factors you guys are ignoring is the fact that sblade also gives slark alot more burst dmg with that 150 shadowwalk, while still giving him as+dmg for sustainable damage. I mean, the hero doesn't really need that many tanky items, since they buffed his str gain and he's slippery as fuck. Even tho i'm always a fan of armlet slark, sblade slark is a fine build. Also hylian, you should really consider not trying to spam dagon 5 on nyx if you're gonna play him this much. Blink, sheep, euls are all much better pickups that you could be spending that 7k+ gold on.

Sometimes when I'm not in the mood to play dota I watch games, or read up on warding etc. So, yeah?

I don't think you've been keeping up with the debate at hand here, bud.

I've been keeping up kind of, hylian whining about people building dumb items and throwing games with awful plays when he build dagon 5 on nyx which people consider a dumb item. So he really being a hypocrite but I stand it saying dagon 5 nyx is fun as shit, fuck useful team items when i can one shot people.

All n All another day in the life of Hylian7, that pretty much it right?

With all this talk of Shadowblade on inappropriate (or appropriate, depending on your perspective) heroes, what about shadowblade on Nyx?

I know that blink or dagon generally offer him more, but it would mean he could essentially combo without his ulti and if the damage stacks with his crit (which I'm not sure of) could possibly be used in conjunction with his ulti to do even more damage.

Been considering this as a possibility on him, despite the inherent disadvantages of having it instead of a blink dagger or dagon.

Blink is just all around better. The right click stats are wasted on a caster like Nyx.

Demonic Purge works the same as diff blade, but some purges only do additional damage like the satyr purge. And some like the purge on unstable current dont affect summoned units afaik.

When exactly is Dagon 5 appropriate on Nyx then? I was always under the impression the rule for Dagons was "5 or 1, no in between." I remember someone here said that once or something along the lines of it.

The rules for dagon on any hero are get it until it starts to lose effectiveness. Nyx gets dagon too late in most cases and that's why you see pros going blink on him instead. Honestly, the only hero I really go dagon seriously on is Tinker late game with Eblade.

Had a game where Razor fed mid Pudge like 7 times, then top KotL never bought wards and fed pudge some more and they both never called miss on Spirit Breaker.

I am Lycan and we have a PL on our team, so I think even if we are 0 -16, we can win lategame. So we stall the game and PL and I manage to get some farm.

So after 44 minutes, we start winning some teamfights and PL starts to get scary.
PL has something like 4k gold in the bank, with a Manta or quick butterfly I feel that we could win.

PL goes to buy a relic because he wants a 46 minute Radiance.

We lose of course
