I just played support to an Anti-Mage, in safe lane, who had as many last hits as the game was long. 33. I think I'll swear off playing support in solo queues for a while.

Good solo queue policy is that you (try) to take everything he's missing. If he's just autoattacking from minute 0, don't even bother waiting to see, lol.

You can't just go and add context to #outofcontextquotes

Which support were you? What was the lane like?

When exactly is Dagon 5 appropriate on Nyx then? I was always under the impression the rule for Dagons was "5 or 1, no in between." I remember someone here said that once or something along the lines of it.

Really, never. I may sometimes upgrade it to level 2 or 3 if I want a bit more burst damage right then and there (Since farming up 1250 gold is far faster then getting anther big item, and at times that could be all you really need to finish of someone like AM), but I usually opt for ether a Desolator or a Heart.

I rotated out with a ranged carry, hoping they'd get the farm, didn't pan out.

I was Shadow Shaman. Me and Anti-Mage were safe lane against Huskar and Lane Lifestealer. Huskar's harass was pretty effective, Lifestealer was just sorta there, didn't do much of anything. I did what I could to try to zone them out, deny them last hits but I burned through my regen pretty quick doing so. Anti-Mage would hide in the trees and wouldn't go for any last hits, absolutely none, he wouldn't even try under tower. He'd idle in exp range. We had a Sniper getting dunked on in top lane by a good Ursa/Rubik combo so I swapped with Sniper, hoping he could outrange Huskar, get some space for him and AM (who wasn't doing anything) and maybe get fat. I went top lane with Venomancer but when the five man dota began in earnest we were down one hero. AM would sit in spawn and call GG and ask them to finish fast. Our Sniper didn't get much in the way of farm and our mid Zeus was doing well but couldn't deal with a fed Huskar or Ursa. I had the only real disables on the team but got shutdown pretty effectively by Rubik and/or Witch Doctor, I couldn't stop Ursa or Huskar from manfighting consistently each fight and our team was pretty squishy.

Who is a good support to play in a dual lane with hard carries like PA or Medusa? I always find these lanes hard to contest if the other team has a lot of harass. I usually don't feel like I can go and pull because the carry is low and can die if I'm not there.

Like the other day I was Rubick with AM against a CM SF lane. People were raging at AMs lack of farm later on but I don't see what he could really have done when he's losing a bunch of life every-time he goes near the creep wave. I felt kind of useless.

Maybe a defensive supports are better, someone like Dazzle for example since he can at least keep the carry in the lane and your not going to get kills anyway.

Yeah, Venomancer works well, Shadow Demon is anther one that can work wonders. Witch Doctor works pretty well with his cask, Lich can pump out a good amount of damage once he reaches level 3, and can pull the lane back.

I swear, Mask of Madness on Sniper is the "zerg rush" of Dota. It's so much an "all in" strategy, and if your team isn't spiraling out of control, winning every fight and such, it's going to leave you 1900 gold down the drain for an item that is going to end up hurting you more than helping you. Sniper isn't tanky enough to handle the extra damage, nor does he have Chronosphere or something like that.

A Sniper on my team asked at the beginning of the game if he should do it. I told him "Hell no, they are going to focus you and you'll melt damn near instantly in fights."

He didn't go MoM and we won that game. Against this team (or almost any team), it was the right decision.

It really depends on the carry and the lane you're up against. Medusa has enough range to last hit without really worrying about harassment from basic attacks, but she has a tiny starting health pool and is vulnerable to getting ganked. Anti-Mage's Blink makes him extremely difficult to gank if he's at full health, but he's vulnerable to harassment. Phantom Assassin can be similar to Anti-Mage, as long as her support knows how to position properly.

In your case, Anti-Mage should begin with a Stout Shield, and upgrade to Poor Man's ASAP. He could even start with a Poor Man's, if a support is willing to help him out and buy him some regen. Pair him a healing support and he should be able to deal with the harassment. As a Rubick though, your only option would probably be to try to force them out of the lane, ideally with the help of your mid. He's an aggressive support, best when either initiating a gank attempt or countering your opponents' gank attempt.

If you go Shadow Blade/Blink Dagger into MoM, then its ok lol

Just played a bot game as Timbersaw and noticed the mana cost for his ulti is still 125 for me, instead of the reworked 75 mana cost. Thought this was strange, perhaps my client is out of date, or maybe they didn't update it in bot matches somehow?

It's updated in the Learn section though, so maybe it's just bot in-house. Can anyone else confirm this?

Paint changes the color of particle effects on unusual couriers.

I think they still drop, but they're incredibly rare.

75 is only for level 1 chakram...it increases by 50 per level.

That's a joke, right?

I guess you missed Dendi sniper recently eh? Sniper requires positioning...guess what Blink Dagger offers? Same with Blink Dagger Clinkz we saw in the Eastern Quali's...

I think you need to start thinking less rigidly and be more open minded about items...

I just checked the replay and it was in fact level 2 at that point, my bad. Thought it was only level 1.

To be fair, Dendi was trolling like crazy...

2150 for absolutely ZERO stats, damage, armor, or anything other than the blink on a hard carry. How about no.

Shadow Blade will do that job well enough. Gives you all that and even if they have detection, you have more movement speed to get into position.

compedium matchmaking is enabled now

Sniper is probably one of the few heroes that MoM is acceptable on. The hero has no hp or escape mechanism anyways, he's gonna die if enemy heroes start hitting him regardless of MoM or not. The extra MS combined with phase and yasha make him slippery to catch, and his dmg output is kinda sick with MoM headshots.

Here's a screenshot of an ih where MoM Sniper prevailed against #Finalstack

Can also, pick fav team + player and get items if you win and shit. Fun.

Went 10-0 Luna in my first game, dotabuff doesn't seem to be updating those games yet though.

Rush Aghs on necro, dumpsterhouse indeed.

Is there any way not to be matched with eastern players (Russians, Croatians, Czechs)? I only search on Europe WEST and English.

Posted about Warlock a couple of days ago, thanks for all the replies. Had a better game against one recently. Purge is... super effective. Also, didn't realise Linken's was single target abilities only

Look at that huge ass Silencer, who is he anyway?

Probably a good player.

He probably bullied the shit out of Medusa in mid and then went on to ball so hard with the 14 second global Doom.
