Man, Hylian. Your post lately in this thread tell me you need to adapt to situations outside the box.

There are many items viable for each hero apart from the ones in the suggestion box.

But 1.09 and the higher skilled players were shitting on my ideas a few weeks ago that Blink Dagger was good on anyone with carry potential (TA in the particular example I'm talking about), so why would it be any better on Sniper? That really made zero sense to me.

Blink dagger on Sniper is awful. Dendi did it in a serious stomp and that's about it.

Well, if they're trying to justify it with the Blink Clinkz, they didn't watch that game either. Blink Clinkz was used because of Clinkz' inability to hit people past his attack range after he Orchids them. Sniper isn't going around picking heroes off and blink serves no real purpose.
 
I just remembered when I was a kid and had WC3, was wondering about this popular map called Dota and got in few times without being kicked from lobby. Oh boy were those games bad.. I heard Mask of Madness was amazing item and only bought it, had no idea what to do etc... :D

The early mask couldnt be dropped. You bought it and you were stuck with it

nah, paints don't drop. they never did. Valve handed them out for free to everyone that had an unusual courier. For each unusual courier you had, they gave you a paint. Just woke up one day and they were in my backpack. Blue, Gold, Red, Orange, and Green.
 
Are you sure? I know for a fact procarbine got a paint to drop a long time ago in a matchmaking game. It was the only paint I've seen drop in >1000 games.

Edit: Actually, looking online, I could be wrong. I know I saw it 'drop', but it could have been a display thing because I think he got an unusual around the same time too.
 
so I played a handful of games at that IH League where pros hangout (ixmike, rtz, korok, etc.) that was posted in this thread earlier... and oh boy that was stressful

first game got matched against a couple top 5 rank that destroyed our defensive trilane so bad and I was playing the main hard carry (lol). I never got yelled and insulted so much haha.... Next 3 games we won, but I found it more comfy to play offlane, not so much pressure from the team.

It was nice to have a SERIOUZ game but I find more fun and relaxing playing MM, even considering how shit can be
 
So, apparently my brother plays Dota 2.

Not only that, but he's in the top 15 highest win rate in the world according to dotabuff. I didn't believe him until I checked.

I've been fucking around with no-raze SF and it's pretty funny. My KDR is super high but I get trash talked every game regardless of how well I do. It's hilarious going mid against another rice hero like Invoker. They get 0 CS or denies because you get so many souls up with Presence.
 
With all the copious free time I have, I was wondering that with the PS4 indi dev incentives to publish and sell on ps4, do you think valve will setup shop on there and come out with some dota2 portage?
On that note how would one play a game like dota on a controller, even one with touch pad and motion control like what the ps4 has?
But then again they could just do like Media molecule and add keyboard and mouse support to the app...
 
I really doubt Valve will attempt to port Dota 2 to a console. Now, I could see them porting the current version of TF2 to the PS4, and maybe bringing the Left4Dead games to Sony's systems.

A DOTA-like game for a console would have to be designed from the ground up for controllers. I don't think there's anyway to port it without having to do an overhaul.

In my mind, a console MOBA would play like a top down ARPG, where you control the direction and movement of your character with the analog stick, and most spells are either buffs, autohoming, skill shots or AoE with a static range. Attacking is done manually and would have to be "aimed", kind of like in Bloodline Champions. Auto attack and spells would be mapped to ABXYRL, items with actives can be mapped to one of the sub analog sticks in a context wheel.

Can you sell a Valve hat on a Sony console? How many ways would your cut be cut.

they could try just implementing it with kb/m only? who doesnt have a usb mouse and keyboard? consoles offer usb ports so they could try it.
 
If you have a KB/M, chances are you have a PC that can run doto at some reduced setting. Dunno what would be the point of playing it on the PS4 with a KB/M.

Comfy couch? I never bought into that line of reasoning.

There was a peripheral on PC that used a grid to allow for a non-mouse control scheme to work efficiently in Dota 2 (basically the pointer would hop from grid cell to grid cell, there were something like 9 cells in the version they showed off), but I forgot what it was called.

EDIT: It should be noted that in that game, he was only 4-0-7, so it's not the kind of GPM inflation you usually see in stomps. Just pure and unadulterated ricing.

yeah those are pretty given. I was thinking that with D3 being of the top down nature, and have played wc2 on the psx back in the day, if it would be an option to port doat2. I would give a lot more exposure to the game from the desktop to the living room, and could increase esports prize pools as well, seeing as the market audience is now bigger.
It's a long stretch but damm it would be cool, and I'd totes play dotas on my PS4.

Man, everytime I fight against a natures prophet they get a 1:50 midas and is able to push and take towers within seconds with just a shadow blade.

Then when I get prophets they cliff jungle and die and ignore nearby fights.

Why? I had very close game that lasted 71 minutes and ended with us wiping 4 of them without buyback and killing anicent which was only thing left standing there, while I defended vs 5th our acnient which had 1 tower standing :D

was fun but team had OK communication and weren't all bad.
