Tom Clancy's The Division - Ubisoft + Massive, MMO Open World TPS RPG

Made a different version of this gif. A little artifacting is present, that is not the games fault.

the turret lol

This one came from no where and looks really interesting. Titan, this, and Destiny all looked great. It's sad to say but I think I'm over "Watch Dogs" already somehow. : /

titanfall isn't an open world shooter.

but yeah all 3 made killzone look really boring in comparison. never been a fan of the franchise though so i may be biased

I dont know im afraid killzone 3 is making same mistake as Halo 4 did adding too much stuff that hides the core gameplay. Saw a couple of glimpses but i saw Hard light shield and hacking flying bot. But then again KZ multiplayer always a bit more like battlefield with classes and such so maybe it could compliment the multiplayer. And not really a competitive arena based fps.

I was so excited to see the gameplay segment didn't end up in fighting some crazy zombie horde or anything. I'm super relieved that we're just fighting regular people.

And yeah, game of the show for me. It looks insane, the interconnectivity is fascinating. I just wonder how this game is played solo. I mean, there's a big emphasis on teamplay, but I'd like to know how it when you're not playing with friends.

I asked this in another thread for this game and I'll ask it again here:

Has there been any confirmation that this is genuine gameplay footage and not just a slick target render?

I mean the animation seems too good to be true. If it's real, I am amazed and it's instantly my most anticipated next-gen title. But I want to make sure this isn't Killzone 2 redux.

Haven´t followed the entire thread - are we convinced this is (was) actual gameplay from PS4?

Or have we been "watchdoged" again?

There was a guy onstage with a PS4 controller "playing" it. Whether or not that was faked...
This is why I want to know if the press is getting any hands on time.

Probably the best graphics I have ever seen. My God.

However, Im already sick of this trend of MP and SP being "merged" together... Yuck. I want to play games by myself sometimes.

Yep can't be said enough. Love the look of this and if there is no 'offline mode' than I'm out. Such a shame because its a real looker.

Dont know all we saw was a yellow lighted ps4 controller.
I find it weird how a third party devs beats Killzone:SF a first party dev in graphics and scope.

Personally wishes hope it has is an mmo but faction based kinda like RF online and shattered galaxy. Where you need to hold onto parts of New york and at the end of every week. The faction that holds the most of new york gets a bonus multiplier for the next week extra exp or currency. But there are 3 factions so when one factions gets strong enough the two weaker factions can join together to take down the stronger factions. Maybe some politics in it like voting for faction leaders and stuff. Not sure if something like Eve can work when there are a lot of clans or factions.

The entire shootout seemed kind of fake - especially how he closed the door of the car while passing it. I also noticed how the squadmates commented on everything he did - sometimes even ahead of time.

I wish it was all true, but I can´t believe it.

Any word on if the press will get hands on time?

I thought the gameplay shown looked highly detailed and well lit. Very impressive overall. Other games might have impressed me more, but if this is what we are getting from an open world game on PS4 (and Xbone) then I am suitably impressed.

Lag confirmed :p

But its a ubisoft game so downgrades incoming next E3 i think.

If this were true, we would be seeing more reports of it, unless I completely missed them?

They're only doing behind-closed-doors demonstrations, but I'm not sure those are actual live gameplay demos or just screenings of the video and additional information.

So far this is the one new game I'm most interested in from this E3. Hopefully it doesn't turn out to be half baked like so many other Tom Clancy games.

I was discussing this last night with a friend. I am really loving the intimate feel this presents...I am glad the engagement seemed ,not slow per de but, real...I am needing a game that doesn't rely solely on the biggest guns known to man with Hollywood style explosions. This is looking like a must buy for me.

Ubisoft's PR answer to people asking about a PC version.

We are optimizing the experience for next gen consoles (PS4 and Xbox One), as we are creating a next-gen game. However, we are not ruling out any platforms for the future.

What's wrong with Watch Dogs? It looked pretty damn impressive in the conference

Not as impressive as the reveal. Actually, the WD reveal looked crazy levels of good just like this Division game if I remember right. Now it just looks like a new game.

Is this the first Ubi game where characters react properly to stairs? Looks really good, but after AC III I'm iffy about touching anything Ubisoft.

WD reveal really didnt look that different. There are other next gen games that look quite a bit more impressive visually than the WD reveal.

it's the concept and animations that have me so excited, plus it's by massive.

so yeah i'll be cautious since it's ubisoft publishing but i'm still excited. moreso than watch dogs which i had little faith in from the start once i found out ubisoft montreal made it.

This.

The Division looks amazing, but so did AC3 and so did Ghost Recon. I'll have to rent it first...good thing I'm getting the Ps4, so it won't be a problem :P

I have a raging boner for all things post-apocalyptic. The insane graphics make it even better.
Not sold on the MMO concept yet, I hope I can go solo against the others.

MMO?

I didn't get that from the press conference. Really no single player?

Yep, no singleplayer it seems. Which is a shame because the world looks fantastic for a "nation collapse" game that could have a wonderful singleplayer. Kinda "The Last of Us" but less "The Road" like that is.

In fact if Ubisoft played their cards right having a gigantic singleplayer-campaign where players can jump in like "the Crew" and "Need for Speed: The Rivals" showed off in their conferences would be really neat for this game.

Most high end gaming PCs just cant run this game.

Kidding, right? They could shuffle things around to get it to run on PC. GPU isn't the end-all-be-all toward porting things between platforms.

Yep, same for me. I have no interest in any game that is purely multiplayer focused. I'm certainly not against such games existing as I know many people play only for multi, but they will never appeal to me.

It might be free-to-play, that's what a rumor said Nirolak posted. That just sounds too good to be true. I wonder if they'll change it based on the great reaction its getting.

I cant see having a game with Micro-transactions in a game like that. Picture having Micro transactions in DayZ hahah

But Ubisoft wants to IMPROVE their relationship with PC Gamers!

I'll be getting this on PS4 of course, but sure would love a PC version as well.
