The game went to a black screen for me before instead of a cutscene and the audio kept looping. I had to quit game to change it

I saw the auto saving thing earlier and thought it was odd. I'm now 2 hours in and saw this news story and SURE ENOUGH, it's there. C'mon now. Sony is going literally the opposite route of M$.

Seemed to be happening before the patch as well.
Looks like it's a fix for now. Maybe wait for Naughty Dog to confirm that it avoid the issue if you're apprehensive. But it looks like it's the fix.

I know, i did the same, but people seem to be saying they'll wait til Naughty Dog says something, so...
Ours did exactly the same thing.
Went offline from PSN and rebooted the game and all is good so far.
Naughty Dog must be so upset about this, it's a game-breaking bug. The game is phenomenal though, hats off to them.
My boyfriend's theory of the problem:
You select "Save Game" and you'll be prompted with a new menu displaying "Autosave in progress, please wait". After it has autosaved, another menu is prompted in which you choose your save slot (e.g. Save 1, Save 2, etc.). He thinks anyone who has experienced the glitch simply canceled out of the menu before the save slot menu had time to appear.
A few pages back someone said that they were instructed to not play the game online. I don't know if that is true or not maybe someone else can clear that up.
Because it's a server load problem.

Well I knew I'd have to bite the bullet sooner or later if the game isn't saving post credits.
I thought I'd be better off sooner rather than later but this is fucking tough to take. The Ellie Edition, a hard back strategy guide on launch day and this is what I get in return?

Would it be easier for ND to patch out the ability to autosave, with a menu notice and clear patch note informing people of the change, while they go about developing a proper patch?

Patch is fine, just make sure after downloading that you quit and sign out before launching the game again.
Just avoid the patch, the patch doesn't seem to make much/any difference to the glitch.

If it's a server side connection issue that for some obscure reason is interfering with the saving process, then a patch is probably not even needed. They just need to fix their damn servers or get Guerilla to do it for them.

Alright, so I took off automatic sign in, and disabled internet connection...I should be good?
.And there's nothing stopping you, just log out off PSN before you start your game.
I think so...I asked this 2 times and got no answer but from what I read so far,this should work...I will patch,enter the season pass code and Gamestop code,quit the game,turn off the PS3 and turn it back on...I dont have auto logging to PSN so then I will just start the game,offline from PSN.
