Just had the auto save lock up. Also my PS3 (PHAT) started overheating. I've never heard its fans go this loud before. Sounded just like my vacuum cleaner.

1) so I just need to sign out of PSN, I can still be online?

2) so the correct process would be to insert disc, launch TLoU and get patch, quit game back to home screen, sign out of PSN, relaunch TLoU?

3) if i stayed online if I just keep saving manually will that be fine or does that break with the auto save also? Or just better to just play signed out?

Number two if you want to dl the patch, doesn't matter. Just log out.

Officially it contains "some minor launch tweaks". No idea what it means or whether it's SP or MP related.

I got screwed this way, manual save gets glitched too (you'll be unable to save the game, save is greyed out after glitch)

Yes, Christophe Balestra confirming on twitter that the issue is fixed. It was server side.

Didn't a handful of people get the game about a week early? It worked okay for them too. I guess it's a launch day server issue that they couldn't predict.
