Still just messing around on a few different servers, lol. Trying out the PS3 controller on the PC - getting a bit more used to it.
 
Only played a tiny bit, but it's crazy to see how much they've changed. Game also seems to run much better than the original, which kind of seemed to run like shit to me.

Will it still be considered Phase 3? So, it was a bad idea to remake the character/use the name I wanted to use for that character?

So got both pc and ps3 beta key. Didnt have much time to play today, so only have a brief comment so far:

Visually it looks really nice on the pc, and really hideous os PS3. I hope the visuals get an overhaul for the consol, because right now its downright ugly.

The early quests seemed slow and the lack of voice in the dialog scenes really feels bad.

The character customiser is quiet nice though and I like the variations in the races.

Looking forward to digging deep tomorrow. If the combat is fun I might buy this.
 
I just started up launcher and put my log in info. It's now downloading 6GB through the client . Am I going to be able to log on? I been in every single beta. Ill just cancel if I'm waisting my time.

Yes, Phase 3 Test 2.

Not to worry though as Phase3 data will be wiped.

Am I the only one who finds the map incredibly confusing? Especially when you click on "map" in your quest log to let it point you towards the general area where you're supposed to do it.
 
Well, as a veteran FFXI player, I think I'm out. I'm not liking this...the game looks like a solo fest for most of the time, partys aren't encouraged at all...just do some quests, spam your best skills over and over and that's it. And since you get 1.000tp from the beginning and you are spamming them, the skills lose all value. It's not like in FFXI, where getting your 100tp and unleashing your weaponskill (even better, skillchaining with someone else!) was fucking satysfing.

I'll keep an eye out for Beta 4, but this doesn't seem for me at all. Solo options are great and I welcome them, but with MMOs I'm looking for a social experience.

Maybe I'm just not with the times.

Nothing will ever be like FFXI, it was for a hardcore audience, and will never be recreated.

FFXIV is focusing more of the current MMo styles. Remember FFXIV before, they made it kinda slow and FFXI-esk, and what happened? everybody got fired
 
So i got the beta for PS3 and I'm downloading a +4 GB file, is it posible to quit and resume the dowbload later or do I have to wait until it finishes?
 
If anyone happens to have PC beta key that isn't in use - i would gladly take it. Will name my first son/daughter after you!
 
this is a joke, checked the official squeenix forums and it seems like im not the only one that are having a problem trying to log in to my account.
 
Level 10, time for a break.

Enjoy it so far I guess, though I must say I'm jealous of people who are in the more metropolis looking city area and near water. The forest is kind of ugly, imo.
 
I'm going to eat crow over this. I said there was no way in hell that SE could turn this game around, and they seemingly have. I haven't been this engaged in an MMO since WotLK.
 
This game seriously needs some SGSSAA love. Hopefully someone will find compatibility bits for it for use in Nvidia Inspector. The game looks great on max settings but it could look even better.
 
If I was in the PC beta test phase 2, is there any way for me to get the PS3 client? (I didn't receive a new invite for PS3)

(If not, count me in the SHAMELESSLY begging for PS3 code camp =D)
 
I am making a Square Enix account on the PS3. I have a Canadian PSN so I downloaded the client with a U.S. PSN.

They are now asking me to enter a 20 digit registration code that was appperantly emailed to me. I only got 2 emails, one for the account activation code and an account created email. What do I do to get that 20 digit code?

I went through the same ordeal. I just used my other email and created another account. No problem.

It should be in the email with PSN code.

i did, i created a new account and then registered my beta number to that account, then i downloaded the 4gb file..

asked to log in

..invalid fucking password...


seems like im not the only one though, squre enix forums is filled with this problem
