Aeana plz help me lol you said you're always a healer, but so am I. I'm lvl 6 and i dont know how to beat that lvl 5 tree boss thing. ;______; I only have earth spell and cure as well as cleric stance.

Stay in cleric stance, do two stones cure two stones cure if your cure between the two isnt good enough drop cleric stance for the cure then jump back in it.

Is it a bug that I can't click accept on any of my quests? I've completed all the stuff in the quests but when I go to the person to turn it in I can't accept anymore. Is this a bug or am I doing something wrong? I can't complete 3 quests because of this.

EDIT: Also could someone invite me to the LS, I would do it myself, but I don't know how. Could someone explain to me or something how to do that.

I'm on the Ultros server is someone wants to invite me to the LS.

Pick an item you want in those cases.

You're right-clicking, right? Or is it a quest where you have to select a reward?

I will just assume these two quests and those after it will require a group. Sending lvl 20 mobs out on a lvl 14 quest tells me this. Lol

Good place for a break. Game is a fuckton of fun.

I am playing Thaumaturge right now which is pretty fun, but I am pretty sure I am gonna go Conjurer for launch, but I haven't tried CNJ since the 2nd beta phase so I wanna see the changes they made. Plus I love that white mage armor!

Is very classic FF, with the crystal stuff and all. But definetly way better written than the mess that is XIII. Story is handled through dialogues and simple cutscenes.

How does it compare to XI?

I thought the vanilla XIV script was kinda confusing and just a big uninteresting mess all around =/

This is my first MMORPG ever and it's really fun so far. Great music and great world. Basically seems like a huge collection of sidequests in a regular RPG.

I'm also playing on PS3. Anyone know what the best way to find your quests on the map is? I've been using a combination of the mini map and pressing select and selecting the quests on screen. Is there a way to set a waypoint directly to where you need to go?

waaaaaaait had to procrastinate on gaf for a sec. Will do now!

Please add me im Lady Yunalesca :D

I'd also like map tips specifically on PS3 if anyone has them. I feel like I'm spending the majority of my time fucking with maps and controls. There doesn't seem to be any good way to navigate maps from area to area, and it seems like I only get quest objectives on the map if I access them through the main map option, accessing the map any other way thorough either the quest or other shortcuts seems to either just bring up the region map, or it it brings up the local map like the main map option does but it doesn't show the quest icons this way. I can't tell if I'm just an idiot, some of this stuff is slightly glitchy right now on PS3, or if it's just super clunky on PS3. Probably a combination of all 3, but it's far and away the most annoying thing for me right now.

No one answered this so I'll tell ya.

You open with Thunder, then you spam fire until you are low on mana, refresh thunder when needed, when low on mana use your Transpose skill and spam blizzard until you mana is full again aplying thunder right before it ends, then when your mana is full swap back to firestance with Transpose.

for me, thunder > ice > transpose > 3-4 casts of fire > transpose > ice until MP is full > transpose > fire
thunder's DoT is so low i think it's not worth the time spent casting it too many times

once we go into PT/dungeons i guess i'll change though, this gets too much hate

Hmm...I didn't played enough of XI plots to make a proper comparisson but I would say fairly well.

Definetly it feels more focused than 1.0, the game quickly sets the main history and follows it without fault. The first version had quite a messy plot that never actually go anywhere (until Yoshida took the reigns), is clearly not the case here.

The game has been so much fun, but I must say the UI takes time to get used to it, I will totally pick this game on ps4 since the touchpad could be a great addition.

I was moreso saying for a big target :P Yeah you wont use thunder often on weak stuff.

I was given a code to DL the PS3 client by a Gaffer (ReaperXLO7) thanks btw. It came with 2 codes one to get the ps3 beta and i think the other one to register.

Since i already had an account does that mean the other code can be used by someone else to register and get the PC version?

I got in the beta!!! So happy! Downloading it right now! I have never played any version of it. What should I expect Gaf?

expect a very decent MMO
it's not groundbreaking or anything
it's still somewhat a spam fest, but once you go higher level this won't work because either you'll run out of TP/MP or you get so much hate that you die since the tank can't keep aggro
great BGM all around

I've been in the Beta since Phase 1. I'm forced to download an update, which seems to be going very slowly. What is this 5+ GB download?

It should, yes.

No, you'll need the registration code after you install the beta on your PS3.

So I just figured out with the quests here is the best way I have managed.
1. Press Start, press right on the dpad and go to Duty, then Journal.
2. Find the quest you want to go to, press X until you get to the right pane and select map.
3. Zoom out on the map with L1 + R-stick until you see your own Blue location dot and the quest dot and plot a path.
4. Alternatively, press R1 over the nearest major are (old gridania, new gridania, etc.) and then find the closest warp point.

I don't know, I'm still experimenting.

By the way, my name is Shadell Jabazz and I'm on Gilgamesh in case anyone else is.

Jesus. I can't believe how well this game performs now. I only played for an hour, but it seems like they made a properly good MMORPG at first glance. I couldn't even approach the last version of the game because of the awful performance and confusing mess of interface and mechanics. Very impressed so far.

If someone could just invite me, if anyone reads this thread and can, kindly do so. My character is Maple Inne.

Interestingly enough, the graphics don't seem as good as I remembered. Perhaps they have this one scaled down to the PS3 already. I'm a bit surprised they didn't just pour the graphics on and make it only for PS4. The lighting and shadowing is as wacky as I remember though, hah.

It runs great though. Granted, my video card is now a GTX 680 but it's pretty much locked at 60 fps for me in 1080p res with all settings maxed, though AA doesn't seem to be working yet.

Thanks a ton. I've been really messing around with it.

Is this game any better than the first version? I never played it and only played a little bit in the beta, but I have no idea what I'm doing and I can't find anything but tutorials.

Is anyone playing on PS3 having a problem with part of the screen cut off? The gil coin is cut off and so is part of the left side, the "P" is cut off as well. I can't seem to find the option to adjust the screen if there is one...any help?

Writing at least for the introduction stuff is significantly better than FFXIV 1.0 and a general improvement over XI IMO. The characters actually doing stuff helps a lot too.

Just played for like 4 hours straight, I like it a lot, not sure if its got its claws in me yet, but I'm enjoying it a lot so far.
