Vita PSN Game & Service Thread | June 2013 | Late Ports and Late Threads

I hope rayman origins comes to plus at some point before legends comes out. *crosses fingers*

You don't sound like you're going to like it, but IMO Uncharted on Vita just about requires the gyro aiming. Once it clicks it's an awesome way to play. But at first it's not going to feel right. You basically just aim like you normally would with the sticks and then put a little ending touch in with the gyro to finesse the headshot. It works surprisingly well.

Sorry but waggle aiming shouldn't have to fix the sticks "stiff" aiming. That's a hardware issue that Sony really should firmware update.

I'm fairly sure you said that last year, and look what happened.

very pathetic lineup is what happened.

Y NO Indie love? Or Rayman love?

No one care about indie games, and No one care about late indie ports. (or inferior ports of indie minis)

Rayman is on bazillion other system that I have and most likely will be better on HDTV again like origin.

It's just sad the game presents itself in a way that makes it near impossible to localize, ha. I feel no sadness towards it; The very things that keep it from the West are probably the very things that made it a bigger hit than expected in the East, so it evens out.

Fans will just have to spend their Life looking for a new Hometown, or... something... though, the Vita's lack of big media attention probably gives the game a greater chance of seeing release, than if the system was always in the public eye...

didn't Xseed said they want to release Burst in the west?

When I get FFX-2 for Vita I don't care what else releases. Can't stand waiting.

dat 10 years old port of below mediocre game, yeah that what Vita need.

dat 10 years old port of below mediocre game, yeah that what Vita need.

I'm pretty much past wanting games that will make Vita sell and just care about what I want to play. It will never get the support it deserves so I could give a shit less if it gets FPS that will sell Vita's, sports games, whatever the hell else the masses cry for. We are in PSP territory here so I agree with that poster, bring on the FF remasters. Niche and I love it.

Even if they're ports of old Final Fantasy games, the FF name is a big seller.

Although, FF X and X-2 on Vita would probably be a bigger draw if they weren't also coming to PS3...

I don't care about what can sell Vitas (like MonHun.. hi Takao), I just want good and new games and I don't see much of them (FFX-2 is crap and old as dirt) only good stuff coming are Teraway,KZM and DC and 3 games are just not enough for me to keep the system.

Isn't Burst "Safer" than Shinovi VS, though? VS has full-on Nudity with floating-head censorship, is Burst as bad?

No Burst is like a PG13 film in comparison :p, but they can remove and change stuff for the western release (aka censorship)

PSP territory? The PSP sold like 70-80 million. The Vita will be lucky to get to 17-18 million. I don't want to put a damper on this thread, so I'll stop. But needless to say I'm a little dissapointed with the way things have been looking for the Vita since P4G.

Have you played other shooters on Vita yet? They play fine. Uncharted doesn't play well with the sticks and it's probably the reason they implemented the gyro aiming, but the gyro aiming also happens to work very well. It's not the fault of the sticks but the fault of the single game.

When is part 2 of Toto sells his Vita to rebuy it a month later drama scheduled ?

jk ;)

said it in my E3 post, will get rid of Vita "for good" after Tearaway, and I wont be buying any future PlayStation handheld because I learned my lessons.

first time I was just impatient (selling it before SS was really stupid and I admit it),rebought it because I thought there is hope(and Shahid empty promises pushed me) this time Sony completely dropped the ball for their last chance and failed to prove that Vita has a future.

It wasn't the PSP games that sold all those psp systems...there were other *coughhackingcough* factors that contributed. With a nice tail end.

Being both a PSP and Vita launch owner I feel the support is on par, I would even dare say better on the Vita at this point then the PSP. It's just, how to put this, different support. Missing the big publisher names in development.

I'm starting to feel your pain Toto. My Vita was a gift so Ill never get rid of it but it is downright upsetting to care about the product more than the manufacturer does. Yeah we have a decent list of titles to go off of but where is the 1st party support?

The Vita is a great piece of hardware and its such a damn shame Sony is okay with relegating it as a port/remote play/indie machine. I expected more...

I don't even know what to think anymore, but whatever... I wont sell my Vita, Ill just take what I get

There's always next year... >_>

No Burst is like a PG13 film in comparison :p, but they can remove and change stuff for the western release (aka censorship)

I imagine censhorship might be a pain for the game in general; Since it already offers SO MANY levels of objectification, any type of censorship would just be like turning one into the other (a "nude scene" becomes a "stripped to unmentionables" scene... which was already done originally 2 min earlier...) and that might be a pretty big hassle overall.

XSEED doesn't seem to like to censor either, so they might be trying very hard to think about how to get around such issues, and they probably don't want to flat out remove anything. It really sounds like a messy game for localization.

I never regretted the PSP when I finally got one; nor the Vita now. No matter how a system starts, there's always some great, exclusive experiences made at some point in it's lifetime.

I kinda understand how Sony can look at Vita as a system early in it's life; while it might be the "expensive handheld" to develop for now, it'll still end up as one of the cheaper consoles to develop for, as we go deeper into the oncoming generation. And "DAT OLED" will always be a draw. Series that prove to be OK sellers, but not enough for Next-Gen ballooning cost could be shifted to Vita, without a large a loss in quality. Whatever turns out to be this gen's "Folklore", "Blue Dragon" or "Valkyria Chronicles", would most likely jump to Vita.

Sound shapes is fun. Beat it in the car ride today and chasing the rest of the trophies. Wish the framerate was as good as the game. =(

Tearaway can't come soon enough.

For someone who doesn't care for their vita, you sure seem to spend a ton of time in the Vita thread.....

Thank god for that - the sooner I can come into this thread without seeing your miserable posts every time, the better.

dat 10 years old port of below mediocre game, yeah that what Vita need.

Pfft, I don't care. The Vita is worth the money if I get the experience I want from it. More games that make other people buy it isn't important to me.

Anyway, iyo it is. To me, FFX-2 has some of the best Turn-based gameplay of any RPG. It is pretty much FFV (or FFIII DS) mixed with... You know what? Forget it.

Amazon.ca sucks so much. Muramasa Rebirth is due for next week, and it is still incorrectly filed as "out of stock" instead of "not released yet" in their system. No indication of a pre-order bonus either. They also still don't have an entry for Rayman Legends on Vita (and the PS3 and 360 versions are still dummy entries not entered correctly).

I fucking hate indie quirky 2d platformer puzzley bullshit...let's make the fucking game as difficult as possible for no reason..that's not fun to me...the only thing preventing me from selling my psv (which was saved by p4g) is remote play. Some games are just better on dat vita oled...wish pfa supported it...

toto still being brutally honest with the vita... if last year's e3 and tgs didn't have you feeling depressed for the vita.. then this year's e3 should have... right now it's somewhere in my room waiting to be a glorified PS4 controller... ffxiv will be looking nice on dat oled...

though hopefully tearaway will be boss!

The second Toukiden demo should be out on June 18 on Japanese PSN and will let you carry over your data to the full game. Now, do I want to restore my Vita for it again?

Soul Sacrifice has been relatively successful and Kenji Inafune has already shown interest in doing a sequel. I predict we'll see either Soul Sacrifice 2 or another new Sony-published IP by Inafune announced at either Gamescom or TGS.

Thank god for that - the sooner I can come into this thread without seeing your miserable posts every time, the better.

Why don't you just use the ignore list and super-ignore for him?

Grinchy said:

Resistance and Call of Duty are the only two shooters besides it I have played, so: No. I disagree strongly that they "play fine" with the sticks. They don't. They're either too much or too little in aiming. It's a stick acceleration issue with the hardware that could easily be fixed if Sony actually gave a damn in fixing it.

I doubt that Zipper game fixes the issue either.

Super Stardust is the only "Shooter" that plays fine with the sticks but that's because twin-sticks in general are going to be at the edges of the joysticks anyway so they don't have the acceleration issues that the titles above have.

Yeah. I'll be curious how they handle the Vita at the Gamescom conference. Last year they announced Tearaway and Killzone Mercenary.

A lot of people care about indie games, but they're generally not huge, AAA system sellers. That's Vita's main problem, it had a great launch and has had some big games here and in between but it hasn't gotten enough to push more people to buy one. It's slowed down to a slow trickle of games throughout the weeks.

Rayman looks best on Vita IMO, and it's the kind of game I like to play in spurts, which is perfect for a handheld. I'm sure other people will prefer to play it on a giant HDTV but I know a lot of people prefer it on Vita as well.

XSEED said they were "terrified at the thought of localizing Senran Kagura" because of it's content, but that they're still looking into it. They didn't specify which game.

FF X is beloved in a lot of FF fans hearts, so I'm sure lots of them will jump on the HD re-release. The problem is that it's on PS3 as well, and that X and X-2 are separate on Vita.

Idk man, I still have a lot of hope and love for the Vita, even after I was mad at their small bit about it during their presser.

I'm sure this is just pushing goalposts further but I have hopes that Gamescom and TGS will bring us more games, hopefully more BIG new games. From what I saw/heard even Nintendo didn't really bring much with their direct thing aside from the new for 3DS SSB info, so whatevs (I just got one, so I'm catching up on games for it).

Sony has a huge global presence so they usually save stuff for their other conferences. I just hope that they don't go all in for PS4 and completely ignore the Vita the closer we get to the PS4's launch.

It's funny though, my wife and I are addicted to Animal Crossing and I REALLY just wish there was something similar on Vita because she's been holding my 3DS hostage to play it. I prefer the Vita hardware anyway (way better hardware and OS), so having a similar game in that genre would be awesome. Farming Simulator should be hitting SCEA soon so hopefully that will scratch my sim itch.

Except Farming Simulator is terrible since it isn't the PC version where you can fling a tractor into a lake. :(

I visit this threads so infrequently but they almost always revolve around posts made specifically to get a reaction out of people. The only interesting thing about it is how the same shtick has continued to work for so many months.

I get why people are mad here, we are passionate gamers and some might don't like to read bad thing about their favorite console, if they want to insult or ignore me it's completely fine and I understand the anger here, but the thing is the situation as of now -lack of first and third party support and new announcements - is bad for everyone who own the device in the long run.

Tearaway gameplay video look absolutely fantastic, one of the best Sony games in E3 (next to Infamous 2nd SS and GT6) I t was a huge surprise for me.

.

I thought we are in the same team Seks-chan :(

the "no1curr about indies" alliance is no more.

.

The problems with the indie strategy on Vita is that (1)they are not the high quality indies games (2)they late ports (3) with high prices, if Sony can get the indie people talking about faster to Vita this strategy might actually work.

XSEED said they were "terrified at the thought of localizing Senran Kagura" because of it's content, but that they're still looking into it. They didn't specify which game.

yeah XSEED is in tough situation here, they can bring it to the west easily by heavy censorship job but doing this they might upset the fans and since it's a niche game already then they the risk of doing this is way too high.

FF X is beloved in a lot of FF fans hearts, so I'm sure lots of them will jump on the HD re-release. The problem is that it's on PS3 as well, and that X and X-2 are separate on Vita.

I only like FFVI (dat game) and FF IV.

isn't the separated games because of Sony(Vita game card limit)?

Idk man, I still have a lot of hope and love for the Vita, even after I was mad at their small bit about it during their presser.

It's not like I torture my Vita right now, It's just you know to see this happen to a system with huge potential just because Sony don't want to even try, I wish I can get some hope like you guys but this E3 and Sony ignoring Vita completely was too much for my poor spirit and soul, it almost broke me.

Yeah. I'll be curious how they handle the Vita at the Gamescom conference. Last year they announced Tearaway and Killzone Mercenary.

well technically Killzone Vita got announced way before that.

There's no such thing as "indie strategy on Vita". There's an indie strategy on "Playstation", with people at that company trying to make all Playstation platforms attractive to indie developers.

That the market doesn't support spin-offs of triple A games made by B-teams anymore is not something Sony has the resources to change.

The reason people want to put you on ignore is not because you're telling something they don't want to hear, it's because you're the top poster in this thread and every other post you make is the same thing over and over again. We get it.

does god eater have online multi?

looks like a pretty fun game. maybe can get a group together when it hits PS+.
Only through ad-hoc, although I have no clue how that works on the Vita. The sequel won't officially support online at launch either, but there is a small chance that it could be patched in later.

the Drop for this week has quite a few Vita releases

Jak and Dexter HD for Vita
Epic Mickey 2 for Vita

-crossing my fingers for cross-buy and hoping they are goood ports-

well yeah but he/she can use adhoc party via ps3 (need wired internet for PS3) and have fun with other online I guess.

I think that's questionable, though. AC:L sold something like 600,000 units. That should be more enough to be viable.

Not to mention, Gameloft on mobile has made quite a living making knock-offs of AAA games by C grade teams.

Why can't the Vita even get those? They have a GTA clone set in Vegas that just came out. It might not be great, but I'd rather rather play it (or their CoD clone or their Halo clone) than stuff like Men's Room Mayhem...

So! I have gotten conflicting answers whether playing Vita while it's charging is harmful or not. So... harmful or not?

I'd say not harmful.

The guy at phones stores told me over charging the tablet is the only way that can damage the battery(let it charge for hours after it's %100) but using it while charging is fine since the battery will be in-use and will not be overcharged.(then again the dude might be just bullshiting me and wanted me to break my tablet)
