Racism is a big part of this case because if Martin was a white kid, this entire incident would have been treated differently. There wouldn't have been an attempted cover up by the cops, and people wouldn't be acting like Trayvon Martin is some 17 year old super soldier.

He referred to him as Nigga, not "the N word" and he said it to a friend on the phone. Zimmerman, or as an esteemed Neogaffer put it, the Zeems never stated that he was called anything remotely close to that when he confronted Trayvon. I suspect his story may change now, but I was referring to people in this thread using it as proof that Trayvon was a thug.
Who cares? You know what that tells me? It wasn't as dark outside as the defense is trying to say it was. That or Zimmerman was way closer to Trayvon than the defense says he was.

When Trayvon told Rachel on the phone "this nigga", was following him George shouldn't have been close enough to hear I don't get what your saying. During the confrontation that slang was never used according to this girl it was a one or two sentence exchange then the fight.
Yeah, she's pretty awful. I think she just lied again under oath.
So, instead of arguing the merits of the case, you are calling anyone that disagrees with you a racist.

From cursory reading of the DOMA case, Scalia's dissent said that what Anthony Kennedy's opinion says is very similar to what Apoc87 said.
Not calling anyone here a racist, but these zimmerman threads have seen a few racist users defending zimmerman in the past who have been, sooner or later, banned.
Personally I think she is definitely being honest about her thoughts, but whether she is helping the case is less clear

I think the line was crossed when a guy got out of his truck and chased down a teenager with a loaded weapon.
He is trying to figure out why she has changed her story they need more proof she isn't credible if they are going to impeach her. So now she has lied on 2 counts, left out information on two different depositions and at trial has decided to really tell what happened because it's deemed important by her. Ridiculous

Her testimony was crucial to the accusation that Zimmerman started the confrontation instead of Trayvon ambushing him; her testimony probably could have survived her lying about not attending the wake, but now the defense is poking huge holes about the really important part of her testimony.
I guess the other witnesses saying that Zimmerman was on top help, but it's probably not as important as this and the defense will have to argue that, however the fight started, Zimmerman had the upper hand, which does not carry the same weight as saying that Zimmerman started the fight.

If one witness is unreliable, it can foster doubt in the jury whether the other witnesses' recollections were accurate.

The way people are treating her is horrendous. I feel tremendously bad for her.
She was in a babbling state yesterday when she was called to the stand to start with, she can barely read so yeah it's not the questions, maybe she is thinking about her "court nails" again.

Why does it take so long to examine this witness? All they really need to know is what their conversation was before his death, done. I don't see how anything outside of that matters at all.

No he didn't talk to the police till they arrived after the shooting, only the dispatcher spoke with Zimmerman.
She is bringing a lot of this on her self. If she was acting respectful people wouldn't be all over her like they are even if she was still a low mumbler.
I think she is revealing herself to be exactly what she is. The stuff she posted on FB/Twitter pretty much confirms it all, so it isn't just her being in the stand. It's just who she is and how she is.
I'm guessing this lawyer knows the damage she's doing and keeping her up there as long as he can.

Exactly. Having seen this the last two days on CNN she's lied, she's admitted she intentionally withheld information from people, etc. She has not helped anyone's perception of her one bit. In fact she's probably done a lot of harm to the prosecutions case.
