Vita PSN Game & Service Thread | July 2013 | Slow Month, Fast Games

And yet TGC's games are not just about gameplay right? They are more about blending subtle gameplay and stories to create great experiences, which is exactly what video games are about if you think of it.

It is not a coincidence that both Journey and TWD (two games that don't offer much "gameplay-wise") got top sales and awards almost everywhere last year.

also Heavy Rain, there is a market and fans for these sort of things, interactive comic like TWD or non game experience like TGC output, sure I can't deny that and I also don't care about them.

I might be old fashioned here but for me video game is something that require skills and offer challenge when gameplay should be the main focus, just look at SMB on nes it's all about skills and challenge, to me that what video games should be.

Whats some good import games for the Vita? I hear its Region Free so whats something worth buying?

Hatsune Miku Project Diva f is a very good game and also is import friendly since the menus are quite simple.

Also Senran Kagura Shinovi Versus is good, I was gladly surprised that under all those boobs and asses there is a very fun game. And there are guides that translate everything from the menus till the story.

wait there are vitabros who don't have toto on ignore?

I've never blocked Toto. I don't think I've ever blocked any user on GAF.

Idk, Don't feel the need to... His posts aren't reaching through the screen to strangle me I guess lol

Sooo Im really debating about this MK Vita for $5. I already have MK Komplete for PS3... What's the point :/

Idk I plan to get my girlfriend a Vita, maybe around Xmas time and game share my purchases with her so maybe I could grab it now to give her later .. Doesn't sound like a bad idea actually since she likes playing MK with me at home.

X__X just realized she couldn't have her own profile name If I game share with her :P

I know this game has some online components, does it require a JP PSN account? I don't want to go through the hassle of account switching on my Vita. I enjoyed the anime quite a bit and am curious about this game.

If you can read basic Japanese, Demon Gaze is a great dungeon crawler.

It has an online pass which requires access to the JP PSN to download. There is a CPU match option though, and you can earn trophies via that mode.

Yes, it has an online pass code that can only be redeemed on a JP PSN account.

I'm usually the first person to claim that portability always trumps over non-portability, but in the case of Project Diva f/F, I now recommend the PS3 version over the Vita version. The enhanced graphics are really worth it. After playing the PS3 version I have never went back to the Vita version.

(The star notes on Vita are still better than the hamfisted analog stick implementation on the PS3, but I got used to it quick.)

Thanks for the responses. I will think on Senran Kagura for a bit. I will be in Japan in a few months so maybe will just pick up copy there rather than importing and save a few bucks.

The SP part of the game is completely fine, you are not missing anything not using the online pass.

The PS3 version also has a few more songs, but I prefer to have rhythm games on a portable system. Those awful analog-stick star notes alone would be reason enough for me to just stick with the Vita version if I didn't want to support the Hatsune Miku localization.

Edit: Dokuro and Metal Slug XX will be free on NA PS+ next month.

I'll be buying the PS3 version when it comes out in August, just to show there is a demand for these games in the US, but wish they were localizing a Vita version for all the folks who haven't imported yet.

I imported Senran Kagura and I regretted it. Way too text heavy. Yes I'm aware of online guides but I have very little interest in playing a game that way.

Furthermore most of the menus in SK are straight up kanji, as opposed to many other Japanese games where a lot of the UI is just English written phonetically in katakana. For instance in Project Diva f, simply knowing katakana means you can already read about half of the interface without actually knowing a word of Japanese.

wasn't the "localization" pretty bad based on the demo?

This is a weak Plus update for me since I already have most of the games, but Dokuro is great. Everyone try it out!

If you want to sell it, send me an PM.

Very tempted to buy MK9 on both PS3/Vita.

Dang, EU PS+ wins again. NGS+ and Unit 13 this month (although the former was on NA PS+ a while ago).

Ya Unit 13 + NGS+ would've been nice. Oh well. between the NA PSN sale and a couple of games I want to pick up on the side I'm going to have so many PS3/Vita games to play. Doesn't look like I'll be getting into the Steam sale much this year.

Annoyed that Futurehop still hasn't shipped my copy of Muramasa, must the E3 preorder overload.

Senran Kagura Shinovi Versus, it is the best game the genre since Chaos Legion.

LOL what? Is there an obscure sub-genre of action-adventure I'm not aware of? Because I recall Chaos Legion leaving a bad taste in my mouth.

Was going to suggest... read below.
That and for $5, having that much game available to go with you wherever, if you can spare the 3gb for it, is awesome. Especially the cool Vita only challenge tower.

1. Create a new account for her
2. Buy MK and a few other titles on sale tomorrow on her account
3. Profit.

nothing for me, i already own all those games except for Munch...

Munch will be good since I never played it, and Metal Slug will be good, I guess. Can't believe Dokuro is already free. Another fuck you from SCEA, I suppose. Should've expected it. Kinda did, but that doesn't take away the disappointment.

Yeah, it is. They didn't bother translating the lyrics, they just romanized them which is mostly pointless. The official trailer also shows the same thing, with two other songs not in the demo.

Maybe the final game will also provide translated lyrics but for now it's looking like I will be sticking to my Japanese copy, not much point in buying it twice (well, 3 times actually if you count Vita).

But of course anyone who's looking into buying the game now should definitely wait for the "localization" in August. Well unless they want the Vita version of course, which will most likely never be happening (fuck you again Sega).

I don't think MK9 on PS3 is the Komplete version, is it?
So you'd still need to shell out for the 4 DLC characters if that's the case.
I was thinking about it, since I could sell my physical disc, but it's releasing on PC at the end of the month and I'll just put my $5 toward that (and sell my PS3 copy) then.

Guys, seriously, if MK is only $5 just get it. It's my favourite fighter on the Vita for all the singleplayer content. Make sure to play Test Your Slice!

Is it $5 on PS3, too? Fuck, buy it twice! It doesn't have cross-save or anything but it's still awesome. Might not be Komplete though; the version of MK9 on PS3 I got on PS+ wasn't.

Already? Dokuro's been out for close to a year (only 4 days off if we're talking JPN release). I bought it at launch and I still feel it's fair game.

Speaking of Project DIVA f/F, someone from Sega piped up earlier today in the announcement thread:

Hi everyone,

Just want to say a very big THANK YOU to everyone who helped us make this game a reality. Everyone's support earlier in the year during the Facebook campaign really did make a huge difference.

There's a lot more to come as we approach the release in August, so we're glad to see so many people just as excited as some of us at SEGA are. :)

I'm also seeing a lot of comments about questions regarding the calibration system, which is good feedback. May see if we can do a little guide video at some point to help easily explain it, along with some tips and tricks for improving score.

Questions about PSO2 and Yakuza 5 that he couldn't answer immediately followed.

wasn't the "localization" pretty bad based on the demo?

I don't think it's wise to consider the localization to be complete based on a demo released two months before the game comes out.

That's such a good price, I'd buy it again if I could and I got it on PS+.

The game is a lot of fun. And I'm annoyed I didn't give it a chance earlier on.

Same with CoD actually. Even Sly Cooper - people complained about graphics on that, gtfo.

First time PS+ has a title that I own... Ah well, will be good for my backlog. So sorry I can't buy MK Vita; was eyeing it for a while. I have too many fighters though (BlazBlu through Plus, SF X T as a gift with the system, plus the PSP fighters from Plus and Guilty Gear that I bought...well...cause it's Guilty Gear). Metal Slug is always good for a shout, so all in all, a decent month.

Ya thats true but I don't think I really need all of the DLC unless they were going to give it to me (I'm also not a big fan of fighters on PC. Thats the main reason I rebought STxT on Vita).

Dude, it is just $5 for an amazing game. Chances are that you'll want to play on a later date and the sale price is no more.

8 months.

Don't get me wrong, it's a great title for anyone who doesn't own it.
But I'm willing to be a lot of people who were interested in Dokuro already bought it, especially since it's been on sale a couple times previously.

Don't mind me, I'm just pissed off that the PS+ content is severely lacking (again), especially when compared to EU.

Forget-Me-Not coming to Vita! That was the discussion on the TxK2000 topic.

Looks awesome. Are you Nyarla of Nyarla labs creator of my favorite iOS game of all time?

If so, thank you for making Forget-me-Not and I'm not surprised you're a Minter fan.

If its not you then just ignore me.
:)

Yep, that's me.. Thanks very much! :O
Glad you like it :)

I love Forget-me-Not. Any chance of a Vita version?

Shinriji - yeah! I'm working on it... No real news yet. (so excited)

Incredible little game. An IOS favourite.
