Nice OT, but title should be changed, not feeling the "Apocalypse Never"
"We're cancelling the box-office bomba" or something similar could be a better title and actually help this movie given how many people read GAF :)
 
To those who have seen the movie: are there enough twists to warrant a spoiler thread? I'm on the cusp of creating one just because, but I don't want it to be a waste of space.

Gypsy Danger is inspired by american cowboys and walks with a certain swagger. Also it's neck plate is inspired by dracula's neck cape where it protects the head from damage.

Cherno Alpha was inspired by heavy russian design and everything about it is custom and unique from other jaegars and feels more industrial.

Crimson Typhoon is the only jaegar that can kick and fights with it's three arms. They envisioned it's styled of fighting to using one heavily armored shoulder to block damage and the other two smaller arms to attack.

I'm not well acquainted with the lore (if there even is one) but as a Canadian I am hoping our model will do us proud.

The question what silhouette and ratings would embody the spirit of Canada...

btw, Gypsy Danger is now an honorary Canadian.

this will score less than mos on rotten tomatoes.
 
Fantastic OP.

But am I the only one who hates Elba's "cancelling apocalypse" speech? It's so corny and as awful as Bill Pullman's speech in ID4. Maybe I just don't have tolerance for that kind of shit. It's the one thing that bothers me in the otherwise fine trailer.

I think this movie has more of a chance at being the best movie ever than for that to be possible.

Fuck humans, I want my robots to have endearing personalities. I hope Gypsy Danger and Striker Eureka are like those redneck robots from Transformers. You know, characters I can relate to!
 
I'm so hyped for this movie. I stood in Barnes & Nobles for a 45 minutes and read the Year one book cover to cover. I wonder if this movie does really well if there will be a sequel.
 
Has to be the one movie I want to do well this year.
I love Del Toro.
