Ok, this seems weird. I can create a new character using my 1.0 characters look , but can't carry the actual character over? The beta info seems to suggest that you can.

Just did Toto-rak with the Duty Finder, not sure if it was just my group (They were standing in poison quite a bit...) or what, but that last boss was probably the most tense fight I've healed out of all 7 Beta instances.

No, you should be able to play your 1.0 character. Make sure you are looking at the legacy server you were on.

I think they changed it from PUG to MRD recently.

That's because how was in 1.0, they changed class requeriments in ARR.

Alright, thanks. Get up to speed internets.

I think I asked this question before but didn't really get the answer I wanted. So right now I'm a Lancer and in the lancer guild. So I want to become a marauder and join that guild. If I want to go back to doing lancer guild stuff do you have to rejoin the guild?

No, you're permanently apart of any guilds you join, just switch to that class (equip the weapon) and talk to whatever guild quest giver to continue where you left off with them.

Thank you.

More questions someone said you have to unlock the ability to dye things. So how do I do about doing that?

Go to a crafting guild and unlock a crafting class.
Equip the crafting class.
Select a dye from the inventory.
Choose "dye".

Game has been running without any issues after updating to newest nvidia beta drivers - sweet. A quick question: Where can i buy level 5 mage headgear in Gridana? None to be found in Ebony/Rosewood Stalls.

There's a Lv15 quest you must complete before you can dye stuff (I think?). You'll need to trade a single Orange Juice to an NPC, so grab one now if you can and hold on to it (pretty sure you can grab from the market areas in the city). In Ul'dah region the NPC is situated in Vesper Bay to the North-West of Western Thanalan.

Is cross-skilling useful for DOH/DOL classes?
Pretty darn useful for DoH and not at all that useful for DoL.

Should be an Armorer or other shop NPC at the Bannock or Bentbranch that sells them.

Another quick question: Is there any way to get aliasing under control in this game? In some scene the whole damn screen just seems to be a jaggied mess. Using the ig anti aliasing doesn't seem to change anything.

Just wondering how many people are currently in the GAF LS on Ultros?

Also is the plan to have LS events and raids or is it going to be pretty casual?

So after having an invite apparenntly since early march, I decided to give this a try since I'm burned out on WoW. So far it seems pretty interesting but I'm worried that this will go the way of the original Final Fantasy XIV Online.

Also that combat, at least from Guild Wars 2 (which I regret buying) and WoW the combat is a tad slower.

But so far, so good.

I think the game has SSAA support if you force it with your graphics company's utility, but no native MSAA. That will come whenever the game gets the dx11 update.

probably the last person on the planet to ask this but lol

the beta only works during the weekend right?

and when is the phase over?

Where can I find Minfilia for the mainquest? Says meet her in West Thanalan but its not on the map.

She's in Vesper Bay (I think the quickest route is from Camp Horizon) -- you have to go down the steps and into the building to the right. There are some steps inside of there that take you down to the "Waking Sands" where she should be. :)

You can get some decent AA going if you have an Nvidia card and using Nvidia Inspector to turn on SSGAA. The performance penalty is pretty rough though.

will try that later. hopefully it isn't too tedious.

Remember that you just need to get to 26... once you do that, talk to one of the Minstrel of Fate NPCs in towns (I think they're near the Grand Company locations) who can boost you from 26 to 29 for the beta.

god dammit! Why did this game have to turn out well? Now, I'm itching to buy it.

At least the initial purchase is very cheap! $22 for the PC download on greenmangaming.com, if you're going the PC route.

That, plus a free month, plus a cheap basic subscription option ($12.99) makes it pretty damn cheap considering how much content there appears to be.

So I'm doing the quest that's asking me to go to Vesper Bay, so I went to the ferry docks at Limsa Lominsa to get to Western Thanalan but the guy who sells the tickets says I don't have enough funds. I got 22K. Is it that expensive or is there some sort of requirement I have to fullfill? Or is there a better way to get to Vesper Bay?

Airship to Ul'dah if that's an option for you (not sure what level you're at). The run to Vesper Bay probably isn't more than 10 minutes from there.

Whoops, I'm a dumb dumb. Didn't realize Thanalan region was part of Ul'dah, thought I was going to some new area.

Pretty sure that has been mentioned as a bug. Like it costs around 50k for a trip for no reason.

Yeah I found her after searching for some mins. Next time I will read the full quest text :S
Thanks anyway.
