Good shit. I was hoping that Melee's appearance would open some people's eyes that this is another valid way to play this game.

Now, let's keep pressing for dat region free, too!

Not true. TP ran on fan wishes. No other recent one has.

Twilight Princess was a response to fan reaction that they wanted another OoT. Skyward Sword was a response to fans saying that the overworlds didn't have enough to do. For Wii U Zelda they said they want to address fan wishes for non-linearity.

There aren't after the 100k hardcore market, they are after the 5 million casual market.

The sooner people start to realise this, the easier it is to understand all this.

The "5 million" has to be segmented and each need to have a market campaign targeted towards their sensibilities. That "100K hardcore" are one of those target markets within that 5 million, and they aren't all hardcore Smash players, let alone hardcore fighting game players. It's like assuming only people watching football or buying football jerseys are hardcore football fans.

And that 100K is wrong. EVO had 1 million unique viewers one year and in like 50+ countries or something IIRC. It is incredibly dumb to not want to take advantage of a chance to market your product in some way with that kind of audience. You get that massive international audience and a ton of buzz generated. Why else do you think MS/Double Helix is there and got a Sunday demo on the mainstage? That 100K won't make KI break even lol.

It's good this had such a quick turnaround, but it's pretty frightening just how completely clueless NoA (NoJ?) had to be for this thing to happen in the ifrst place. Complete PR disaster if it happened (rather than just the current embarrassment), even ignoring the breast cancer angle.

EVO is saved!

Thanks to everybody in the gaming industry, IGN, GAF, and even Kotaku for blowing up Nintendo and making them realize how much of an idiot they are.

I think you're massively blowing this out of proportion
