Yes, because clearly, the game not existing at all was the better option.
Soon Sony will backtrack from something we all love about PS4
We can only hope.

So are the people who defended this on Miiverse before going to magically change their tune again too because Nintendo did?

Internet vs Nintendo , 1-0.
i honestly to god thought my original joke post here was maybe being a bit over the top but piracy is literally Nintendo's thought process behind banning this stream my godI was told by a former PR person for Nintendo that they viewed YouTube as a giant pirate site, and wanted everything related to Nintendo pulled off of it. Not only did they think this was a good idea, but that this was actually possible, too. So that's the mindset we're dealing with here.
They just don't seem to get this whole internet thing. It's like they are more interested in the tiny amount of revenue people may be generating off of their content than the millions' worth of free advertising their users generate for them.
And I do think that's what it comes down to for them, like with the Let's Play thing. They see a quantifiable amount of money being made off of their products compared to an unquantifiable marketing benefit.
I don't think it takes much thinking to realize that millions of positive impressions of your game is worth more than the pennies of YouTube revenue, but this is old-world thinking we're dealing with here.
