This I'd agree with--the mind-blowing part of the whole thing is that there's zero question that Zimmerman killed a kid, and zero question that he essentially started the sequence of events by chasing him down. But, legally, the prosecution had to prove the unprovable beyond a reasonable doubt, because just proving that he did it and he started it wasn't enough.
The news commentator on the livestream I watched mentioned that he thought the defense had the argument won on the legal side of things, but that the prosecution had it on the moral side of things. And it's frustrating that there's such a wide gulf between the two in this case.

Fro a common sense standpoint he's in jail right now, going off of the letter of the law? They made the right decision.
