I find it pathetic that people protect a man who isn't a person of authority who was told by someone of authority to stay in his car and not pursue this kid he assumed was a criminal with absolutely no basis other than skin color, and because he ignored an order given to him they even had that confrontation in the first place.

Its the definition of self defense being used. Profiling and stalking a teenager after being specifically told not to while having a firearm is not what i would associate the term self defense with.

It's pretty hard to provide that evidence when Dirty Harry fucking blew away his "assailant."

I didn't think they'd be able to get a guilty verdict on murder (despite my personal opinion that it was murder), but I am shocked they didn't find him guilty of manslaughter. Whether or not Zimmerman killed Trayvon was never in doubt. There was certainly enough evidence to convict him of that but I'm not all that surprised they didn't.
 
All this attention for this case but what about all the other innocent black kids killed everyday? Not saying this wasnt sad or outrageous. there's just a huge difference in coverage for the everyday murder/shooting in America.

He was walking home unarmed and was talking on the phone about how he was being creeped out by someone following him, and there was no evidence that he was "MMA punching" anybody or trying to grab Zimmerman's gun.

Now tell me why a 17-year-old unarmed child being shot and killed has to prove his innocence during his own killer's trial.

I guess this post is showing the emotions that are running high alongside this case. I can appreciate the passion, but all we have are the facts as presented by the case. That's it. We can't let every judgement be dictated by emotion as we'll be making irrational decisions all the time. GZ poor emotional prejudice led him to making a poor decision, TM's response led to his death. It's a shitty situation all around, one dumb decisions just escalates a situation and a kid dies.

As much as I get that, if people are giving him a pass then those who go the other extreme should get a pass too.

There's not free pass for me if someone calls me a fucking idiot.

I'm observing and understand the situation but it doesn't make conversation any easier to go off and insult people here.

But I disagree. I'm deeply, deeply saddened at the loss of Trayvon and at this whole tragedy, but if you really feel that angry at the Trayvon ruling, it's best to just leave GAF and take a break and cool down.

Emotions are indeed running high, but we still need to show restraint and etiquette. That's what makes us and this entire forum better.

Hopefully his ban is a very short one.
