I have no idea what this is, but I would pay large quantities of cash monies to see this style realised on the Vita screen.
But I don't like Kickstarter. Conflict!
Well Sony are looking into supporting Kickstarter so you never know!

honest question here... why are all indie games 2d and rely on artsy/whimsical style?
In the past i have probably seemed against indie games but the truth is im not... i just need more diversity
how many fully 3d indie games are on the vita? almost all are 2d and incorporate some style of platforming / adventuring
why hasnt someone made an indie FPS? doesnt even have to be true 3d it could be a doom/duke 3d style game for all i care
why has no one made a 3d racing game? i dont expect Forza 5 graphics here, im sure on a reasonable budget 3d is not very expensive... it can look like Daytona usa for all i care, as a matter of fact, that would be awesome!

I'll try and address this sort of thing in a second post about games for the Vita - but you're wrong - those games have been made, and are being made.
Also google Project Cars
project cars is coming to vita?
Short answer: 2D graphics are easier than 3D graphics. A competent indie programmer can make a full game from start to finish using "programmer art" and then outsource the sprites to an artist to fix them up at a reasonable cost.
When you enter 3D into the equation that process becomes a lot more time consuming and expensive.
really? i was under the impression it was the opposite... i know a 3d space makes mechanics more complicated but in terms of assets. 2d stuff every single frame has to be drawn by hand...
No - but you asked why people aren't making 3D indie games. But as Interfectum said, 2D is easier and a lot cheaper.
i guess i expected it to be understood i was referring to the Vita exclusively
I can go on steam and get all kinds of crazy indie games of EVERY genre. FPS, Racing, strategy, fighting, etc
Apparently Shahid helped give Liege the nod to add the PS4 and Vita as target platforms on their Kickstarter campaign. I'm not usually into Kickstarter but this game is ringing all the right bells for me. Gameplay looks good, great artwork, mature story and the guys behind it are fans of FF Tactics and Suikoden.

They already have $31,000 out of $51,000 with 12 days to go. I already backed. Needless to say, I'm pretty excited about this one and I hope it meets its goal.
If you like it, spread the love!

But another aspect of this is that indie developers are free to make the type of games they want to make. Most of these developers are about the same age and definitely seem to have been raised on the NES. So they, typically, want to make something like they experienced when they were kids.
I got mine too...
twice.
it's strange. they gave me my first one at the end of the referral thingum... then last week out of the blue, they gave another
$20? now get Gurumin: A Monstrous Adventure so you win for real.
It looks like Spelunky isn't going to make July/early August. Over on the US PSBlog a user asked why it wasn't part of the 'Play 4' promotion. A mod answered him saying: "Spelunky will be available on PSN a bit later this year. Stay tuned for more news on Selunky soon."
Play 4 runs until August 13. Too bad, really wanted to play Spelunky all summer long on Vita.
Most 3D indie games use Unity, which doesn't have official Vita support... yet. It is on the way though, so I would expect we'll see more diversity once it's officially released. That said, there have been a few 3D indie games already announced for the Vita, like Forgotten Memories (survival horror) and Dying: Sinner Escape (adventure/puzzle).honest question here... why are all indie games 2d and rely on artsy/whimsical style?
I definitively get the impression that Nintendo's indie team is seeking out Kickstarters and offering them Wii U devkits, though how this works out for them in the end remains to be seen. And many of the more promising Kickstarter games with Wii U versions seem to end up on PlayStation platforms eventually, like Cloudberry Kingdom and Two Brothers for example. I think Sony just prefers to have a working game to evaluate before approaching a dev.I've noticed that many indie dev on Kickstarter aside of PC usually aim for Wii U (or have Wii U as a stretch goal) over another systems, there is lack of Vita KS projects and only few indie put Vita as a stretch goal if they get more money. I'm not sure if Nintendo is doing something good here or have better policies or if eShop is that good (doubt it) but there is must be something here make these people prefer Wii U keeping in mind that both Vita and Wii U are in the same position (as in don't sell well and have tiny userbase)
Is Unity supported on Wii U? Might be the reason for so many Wii U stretch goals.
They suggested on the last Playstation blogcast that a long-awaited PS1 classic is finally coming. I'm hoping it's Suikoden II.what's new/free today on PSN?

yepNew deployment add-ons for Nintendo Wii U and Sony PlayStation will soon bring the Unity advantages of development speed, flexibility and creative freedom to console developers. Certified Nintendo or Sony Computer Entertainment (SCE) developers will be able to create games with the powerfully intuitive Unity development environment and tools, and then smoothly port their games to their chosen console without the need to rewrite the code from scratch.
For PlayStation games, a Unity for PlayStation® deployment add-on will be available with optimized deployment for PlayStation®4 (PS4), PlayStation®3 (PS3®), PlayStation®Vita (PS Vita) and PlayStation®Mobile (PSM).
Sometimes it's a mystery, sometimes word gets out early.really? so it's a mystery until the store update?

Catching up on the past couple of pages - this looks pretty nice actually! Surprised no-one else responded to you - probably because you didn't include screenshots![]()

Consider this post extreme port begging. We all do it; it seems like being a Vita owner (plus Sonys recent approach) a free pass to hope, discuss and wish for titles to come to our beleaguered handheld.

Liege
I know this was posted earlier - but here it is again in case some of you missed it. This has already been approved by Sony and has added a PS4/Vita stretch goal already.

Gorgeous art, wonderful animation and it scratches that genre itch.
It feels like were constantly discussing two genres in this thread; roguelikes and metroidvanias. We have Spelunky coming shortly, with one or two others to satisfy the first, but Ive been dying to play a good Metroidvania since, well, Metroid Prime. (Hyperbole Guacamelee was pretty good too.)
An epic metroidvania adventure built of beautiful pixels.

WTF @ Virtue's Last Reward ending.
Spoilers, obviously:Sigma/"Kevin" is sent into the past to take 22 year old Sigma to the future to train him into trying to stop Radical-6/deadly virus from spreading and killing/self-inflicted deathing the entire world at the hands of Dio/Left's "Free the Soul" cult's wanting.
Anyway, after a bunch of time jumping and LET'S DO THE TIME WARP AGAIN~~~~~~o/`'s he finally returns to Kevin's body/Sigma-as-a-22-year-old-clone's body. But the whole: "What body did Kevin jump into to support Phi and Sigma/Zero Sr/not-Kevin's mission to stop the virus from spreading this time!" isn't ever answered.
So WTF.
