42 games in the released part, 44 games in the future part. Last months thread saw the most post and views of any Indie thread so far and we saw our small community grow by a few people that share their experiences and game finds with us. Really awesome to see this thing growing bit by bit. Agains thanks to everyone participating! Also while you are here, grab some awesome electronica/videogamey music while you are here: Pyramid - Lost in Space
We will also have a vote on the best games of the month in the last week of the thread. The results for june can be seen below. For some first time readers that wonder about my definition of "recent": We didnt have any major Indie thread in 2012 on GAF, so we are also catching all the titles that slipped through our net last year. Anyway, have fun with the games from this month!

Hey! I assume you are new in this thread series and want to see what we were up to? Or you didnt have enough time to play through all of the games from the last month but still want to catch up with the best ones? Then this list is for YOU! These were the games we enjoyed the most in the previous thread, voted on by the community (More thorough descriptions and impressions in the previous thread, especially the last few pages with the voting):

I noticed there are a few noteworthy, and relatively unknown, projects that deserve a shoutout here because I feel that they share a common interest with the people in this thread. I talked to the guy from Pixabyte and MetaVendetta and both are very enthusiastic about the things they love and figured you might appreciate the shoutout as well. If you enjoy anything here or want to give feedback, let these guys know via their websites or also here in this thread. If you appreciate something, let people know. A heads up can sometimes very valuable.
This is a monthly podcast series that presents notable Indie Game soundtracks. A likeable host and guests, a fantastic track selection, interesting discussions and a focus for Indies will make this one a mainstay in my monthly threads.
These guys worked on a weekly YT video series that will present the newest Indie Game releases with small gameplay clips, impressions and anything important you might need to know. Definitely a great way to get an overview of recent releases and hopefully another mainstay for this Media Corner.

1. Gods Will Be Watching (12 votes) - Free (PC, Browser)

Simple, yet very cool and engaging survival management game with that distinctive tall 2D model aesthetic (Sword and Sworcery, Riot). Disturbing yet addictive (the can't stop until you succeed type), it draws you into its world in which you are tasked to help a small group to survive. The announced remake/sequel looks VERY ambitious and definitely deserves a spot on our most anticipated Indie games list.

2. Defenders Quest (6 votes) - Free Demo/ $14,99 (PC, Mac, Linux)

DQ is probably the best, straight-up Tower Defense game I've played in a while. Seems like this past year or so, having your game be "tower defense" like is the new, hip thing (that and rogue-likes.) DQ is the developer's love letter to the old-fashioned, restart-until-you-perfect-the-stage, TD goodness.

2. A Dark Room (6 votes) - Free (PC, Browser)

This is a surprisingly deep game in the same vein like Candy Box, particularly once you open up the Nethack-ish map stuff. Yes it's a grinder, but it lends itself well to the pick-up-and-play style. In fact, I forgot I had the game running in a tab -- I kept coming back to the game for a couple of days in short bursts of gameplay. Highly addictive.

4. Magrunner (5 votes) - $19,99 (PC)

Fantastic Portal-style 3D puzzle game with an interesting story and an evolving world that builds up to the supernatural Lovecraftian stuff rather than blow its wad early like most games.

A beautiful flash game that you can fall in a trance with. The music is incredible, there's a bunch of content and the gameplay is hypnotizing.
