Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn - Beta Phase 3 Impression: Phase 4 August

People who bought PC version didn't get a discount on PS3 version and people who start out with PS3 version aren't going to get a discount on the PC version. Why in the world would they give a discount for the PS4 version?

It could be argued that there's a PC version and a "console" version, without differentiating the PS3/4 at all. Buying on the PS3 could easily just unlock access to it on PSN for your account, access which could carry over to the PS4.

And has it been confirmed buying the PS3 version doesn't give you access to the game on the PC? It seemed to me it would work like beta, there would be a single code giving access (beta/registration), and then a code that unlocked the download on PSN. Meaning you didn't get access to it on console just by virtue of having it on PC, but buying the PS3 copy did give you access to the game on the PC.

Granted, I don't know how the release version will differ from the beta, but I definitely only got beta access for a single account on the PS3. And I definitely logged into XIV on at least 3 different PC accounts, not just the one which received the code.

Also, would take a while to dig up the quote since my attention on XIV has been pretty casual for a while, but I'm pretty sure Yoshida implied that the PS3 version would carry over and that's why people keep mentioning it everywhere.

If anyone has confirmation they can quote that specifically says PS3 access does not carry over to PS4, or that buying the PS3 version does not give you access to the game on PC, I'd love to see it.

Just reinstalled windows 8, haven't had to time to oc yet.

So stock i7 4770k, GTX 770, 16gb ram

Surprised how much better optimized this benchmark is than the old one. Running on Maximum and got almost exactly the same framerate (~59fps) and score (~7000) this time as last time, except I'm running at 2560x1440 instead of 1920x1200.Stock i5 750, 670 OC, 16gb RAM.

Looks like I can put off that CPU upgrade for a few more months.

This is still running entirely in DX9 right? DX11 enhancements coming at or after launch?

Presumably, the DirectX 11 upgrade is coming after launch. We don't know when after launch exactly, but it probably isn't coming any later than the PS4 release.

I got the new nVidia 326.41 drivers; that combined with the new optimized benchmark has taken my Titan system from ~8,800 to over 13,000. The Benchmark was butter smooth the whole way through.

Oh! And this is without any OC on the processor or GPU. I look forward to seeing what happens when I push my i5-2500k a bit.

As there are likely separate licensing fees for publishing a PS3 and PS4 title, I would not expect any version to give you access to any other version. The only potential exception would be to get PC access if you buy any version, as the issue doesn't apply there. (I wouldn't count on it tho)

Yes, and vise versa.

I can't remake Jinko as there is no option for sideburns for Lalafell, had the same issue with phase 3, however I got them on my legacy character data (is this legacy bonus :P ?).

Hope we can alter our 1.0 data, ie as a template as they got my voice wrong when it was copied over :(

Edit ok nevermind I found em :O
