Nintendo Direct WiiU/3DS @ 8/7 - NA: 7am PT, EU: 4pm CEST

There is a new "what the gamepad does" video on Nintendos UK youtube site with comedian Rufus Hound
http://youtu.be/_wNrmEyjUOM
Man Rufus Hound looks weird without facial hair.
Also I love that at the end of the video they still need to convince people it's a new console.

Why is everyone assuming we're going to see new games?

"Watch a new #NintendoDirectNA on 8/7 at 7am PT for updates on #WiiU and Nintendo #3DS games launching this year."

I expect:

-Gameplay footage and hype for W101
-Footage and specifix release dates for Wind Waker, Mario 3D World, DKC, Lttp 2, Wii Party U
-Footage/tease of Mario Kart 8 and Smash
-Price Cut/New Bundle for Wii U
-Black 3DS
-1 or at most 2 new game announcements.

This is still more than enough to get me on the hype train.

For Europe I expect:

Brain Training release date.
The SEGA 3D classics dated.
Scribblenauts Unlimited to be bundled with Scribblenauts Unmasked

Because GAF can't shit on Nintendo for under delivering tomorrow if we don't over hype today.

This is so glorious, it needs quoting.

Also, come on Nintendo, perfect time to announce a price drop, Wii U Ambassadors Program (early and free trial access to the Netflix-like Virtual Console Subscriber service they are starting), 3DS Miiverse, and a united account system that lets you play all N64 and earlier systems' games you've purchased on your WiiU or 3DS, and ONE MORE THING Everything they've announced so far is actually releasing this holiday by Black Friday.

But maybe we'll just get an all black 3ds xl.

Flaming Bacon Cherry!!!!

That UK ad was what they should have done in the first place...

Well, to be on topic...

This is what have been waiting for since effing E3!!!!

When does Coro Coro come out officially?

12th (normally it's 15th but this month's issue is 12th). Of course Pokemon news probably won't appear here. But then we were blindsided by Fairy type/Noivern/Vivillon announcement in their Nintendo E3 Direct.

Welcome to Nintendo Direct hype where it's nothing BUT hype all day and all the time. Please enjoy your stay.

But seriously, what they say there doesn't necessarily mean there won't be any surprise announcements. There was one 3DS focused Direct where all they talked about were already announced games and at the end of it, Reggie popped on and announced Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D; trailer and all.

So again... a new game can be announced if you just believe hard enough, it'll come true!

-WiiU price drop
-New bundles (Pokemon 3DS, Wind Waker WiiU, White Deluxe)
-"Summer" update (FOLDERS!!!1!)
-GBA Virtual Console (Mother 3 announced)
-Release dates
-Phoenix Wright going physical in Europe
-North America:

-New Smash character (potentially Pilotwings related, Sakurai announced a Pilotwings stage today)
-W101 Direct mentioned

and that's it

Probably? Almost certainly will not.

Though that doesn't mean there will be nothing Pokémon. I'm expecting at least Rumble U to get a mention.

Plus there is the question of XY 3DS XL bundles.

On that note a Wii Sports U announcement would not be surprising

Yeah, I wouldn't be shocked by a Wii Sports U announcement with a hardware bundle. $300 32GB system with gamepad, remote, and Wii Sports U (plus Nintendoland download code). Do it.
It'll be $350, and not include Nintendoland or a Wii remote

But I'm not really EXPECTING any of that. We'll probably just get some bits of info and a few release dates.

A bit curious to see Wii Fit U. It got MASSIVELY delayed followed by almost total radio silence for over a year..
It's probably the same as when we last saw it.

According to Target:

Wii U
The Wind Waker HD — October 4th
Wii Party U — October 25th
Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze — November 15th
Super Mario 3D World — December 6th

3DS
The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds — November 22nd

I think this is what they're going to show tomorrow; I would like to be surprised with some announcements but my expectations as for that are low.

Why do people keep saying this? Aren't the Nintendo Directs scheduled bimonthly? Don't expect another one until October.

Not necessarily. It's been following last year's schedule pretty closely in which we got a ND on August 29th and a Wii U focused ND on September 13th. The next one after that wasn't until October.

Sucks that Zelda is the only major 3DS game I'm personally looking forward to from now until the end of the year (zero interest in Pokemon), but it at least gives me a chance to pick up some 3DS games I already missed out on.

Guys don't get excited.

It will be about Wii U Fit and Wii U Party. They will announce the release dates for these games along with new system bundles.

Finally some more direct goodness.

Please sakurai San...throw some smash bros...heck a reveal would be hype inducing :D

Since a ton of places are selling some Basic WiiU's all the way down to 149 bucks I am guessing they will announce a price cut tomorrow...at 199 for the black WiiU,I would probably get one...I figure it might be a good idea to lower the price now instead of around the same time as the PS4/180 come out in November and get buried. ;)

There has been chatter about this ND for a while, none of which indicated anything significant is happening.

It is a house cleaning ND.

I would not be surprised if they skip October and just do one in November.

"Watch a new #NintendoDirectNA on 8/7 at 7am PT for updates on #WiiU and Nintendo #3DS games launching this year."

because new games have been shown at previous ND's that were not expected. Like X earlier in the year.
