Nintendo Downloads - August 2013

That's one recommendation off the list already :(

I think my favourite eShop game is Crimson Shroud but it isn't an easy recommendation. It's basically a tabletop RPG with lots of dice rolling, great visuals and a story by Yasumi Matsuno.

and it's totally awesome if you're into this type of game.
This game sounds interesting in concept, but I tried it on a friend's 3DS and was bored to tears. For several minutes I was just pressing A to get to the next screen of text (without reading anything), and after quite some time I could finally roll the dice. What happened next? More text. That's when I called it quits.

It may be a good game, but it certainly doesn't feel like one. Maybe because I was just checking it out, but right now I don't want to touch it ever again. And I love the Ace Attorney series, so it's not a bias against text-heavy games.

You're doing it wrong, that's all. Not reading text, lol.

Crash City Mayhem (Ghostlight) - €9.99/£8.99 (Ends August 22, normally €19.99/£17.99)

Oh neat, might grab it now. Still pissed at how Ghostlight couldn't even be bothered to tell people they'd cancelled the retail release of this game until a week before it was supposed to launch. =\

Yeah I know, but I just wanted to get a taste of it, see what it was like. My opinion may change if I sit down and play it properly, but it didn't grab me. Of course, I would have probably thought the same if I had done that with Phoenix Wright too. But I still don't feel like paying $7 or so just to find it out, not after that experience.

And I started playing Code of Princess, which I got on an eShop sale last month. The beginning has a loooong cutscene, which bored me, but the 2 following missions didn't have many of them. I'm not sure if I like the gameplay much, it feels a bit slow and clunky.

Got a bit of a noob question, and I can't really think of a better place to ask it:

If I upgrade my SD card for my 3DS, is there a way to easily transfer over whatever data I might need, such as DLC, etc.?

So curiously, SteamWorld Dig is coming to the EU eShop tomorrow as opposed to Thursday as it is in NA. An hour after the Nintendo Direct startts... hmm.

That's clever from Nintendo if it means it will get a spotlight in tomorrow's Direct. Better "buy this cool looking game starting now" than "here's this cool looking game, buy it in two days if you remember!"

Bah. I want Mario Golf for Europe.

Seriously, why the f**k do we not have it?

I know it goes both ways and America randomly don't get some things for years either but this shit just makes no sense when NINTENDO GAMES have such BS different release times.

Etrian Odyssey is coming to the European eShop on September 5th (retail on August 30th).

And a demo with two dungeons on August 15th.

Get an xbox And play some halo

Mario Golf Gameboy Color...ah memories. Hoping Mario Tennis GBC also shows up.

The GBA versions for these games are really good. I missed these back in the day. I hope Nintendo starts the GBA vc soon because there are so many great gems for the GBA.

Welp, I'm strongly opposed to buying retail (and retail-priced) games on the eShop, but I'm making an exception for Senran Kagura Burst. I don't really even want it that much, but it's one of those games I begged to be localized, so I'm gonna have to man up.

Hoping for $20, but expecting $30.

Hopefully ROTK4 comes out in the NA next week as well. Been meaning to try that series out. Hoping Mario Golf means Mario Tennis will soon follow too.

Huh. I never really checked it out too thoroughly, but I always tended to believe that this is one of those series that keeps getting new entries made even though the games are fairly medicore.

Haven't played very much at all, but my understanding is this: the games are very detailed and have a lot to them but are incredibly slow. You can't just go from attacking one enemy to the next. Mind, this being a SNES game, it's not mind blowing.

Hulu 3DS is available in Japan now. Nothing listed for next week in the eShop at all:/ Holiday time? Nintendo Direct announcements? Just a delay?

I bet we'll get a Nintendo Direct announcement of some big VC title(s) later tonight. Last time they did this they announced the Zelda Oracle GBC games on the Direct.

Exciting! Conception II demo available now too. Nothing at retail next week too.

EU list is full, US isn't.

The text is well written and well integrated into the atmosphere generated by the game. If you refuse to immerse yourself in it, don't bother with the game. It is absolutely not for you.

yeah it's meant to feel similar to a DM-like person narrating the game to you

definitely would've been amazing if they found an actual narrator to voice it over, but it works as text too. you have to read that stuff, it's a biiiig part of why the game exists.

shooting endangered animals and even T-rex arcade style non stop

I keep meaning to specify as it irks me every time somebody doesn't but it's Japan!

Thought as much, don't sweat it.

I can't imagine it'll be a VC release, unless they decide to announce SNES/Mega Drive/GBA support out of nowhere. Pretty much all the big NES/GB games are already out, aside from SMB3 (?) and Pokemon (which I really don't expect them to release on VC). Maybe I'm forgetting/overlooking something obvious...

SMB3 is out in Japan. I cannot think of a major outstanding Famicom/NES Mario title so all I can think of is Pokémon, Mother or Squaresoft. Or another system.
