Xbox One will include TWO AA batteries

You realize you have to pay extra for the play and charge kit, right? It doesn't come with the console or the standard controller.

If that's a pro for MS, then the fact you can buy a long cable that will recharge your PS4 controller for much less money should be a Pro for Sony.
Can you even read? I put "not in the box" as a con.

Seriously? Still no rechargable controller in the box?

Don't tell me it wont have WiFi either.

Again, Microsoft?

**Ok it has WiFi this time. SHEESH.

I think it's pretty ridiculous that they couldn't put a rechargeable battery into the thing. I stopped using batteries like a decade ago when I got my first iPod. Next gen indeed.

Sweet, that'll make Browsing the Sony Pictures app on 360 all the more Sony.

Now all I need is an app that hurls misinformed babble at everyone on my friends list because they own a 360 and I'll be almost converted!

If they aren't Golden Power batteries, I'll be extremely disappointed.

Don't stand in the stream of Golden Power...you'll get shocked.

iPod vs Joystick. Lol. Guess what the Apple Magic Mouse use as energy source. Shocking.

So what's wrong with them giving us the most options?

You can keep using cheap AA's and replace every few days
You can use decent AA's and replace every week or 2
Use rechargeable AA's and and just keep on charging
Use a cable so there's no need for batteries
Use the Play and Charge..

Some will cost more then other so you do what suits your bugdet..

Compare to an enclosed non-changable battery!!

I still dont see what the problem is.

Really? So Microsoft is now giving us options?
I have never had a problem with the rechargeable batteries in the DS3 and never heard of anyone having a problem with it.

That's irrelevant. A long charge cable is a Pro for Sony just as much as it is for Microsoft because in both cases you have to buy them separately.

It seems Kazuma Kiryu was 100% right about you.

You dont have to buy the cable separately on the XB1. It comes with the Play'n Charge kit. Because it makes sense. You buy a rechargeable battery, so you need a long cable to play and charge. Something that Sony didn't figured out.

Its a pro in the Play&Charge kit. How can I give a pro for Sony if they provide a short cable?

Btw, I dont know how long is the PS4 cable yet.

No lol. You still have to buy a play and charge kit, and no, simply buying rechargeable batteries is not enough, because it only recharges a proprietary Microsoft battery pack (not AA's, despite AA's being cheaply moulded in to the pack).

You still need this pack. Which is only sold with the cable.

So you either have to cough up for rechargeable AA batteries and a wall charger, or you have to shell out for the play and charge kit. Either way, Sony's solution is more affordable, better value for money (lithium-ion batteries are more costly and advanced), charge quicker, degrade at a much slower rate, are smaller, lighter, more refined, modern and convenient.

The PS3 controller still works when plugged in.

You can get a 12-foot long mini-USB to USB cable from Monoprice for like $2.

You can buy a pack of eneloops cheap and have no wire at all, and also not be fucked when the battery dies completely. Xbox option is superior for long term.

Do you know how cheap rechargeable batteries (and a charger) are? Much cheaper than buying a sealed controller. I'm buying a PS4 for other reasons, but MS still beats Sony no contest when it comes to how user friendly their controller is.

$20 for something that should be free. As most people have mentioned, controllers rarely die and when they do it's nothing to do with the battery the vast majority of the time. The battery dying excuse is silly. As others have mentioned, SIXAXIS controllers from launch still work fine and with decent battery.

Good god no. By this logic the 3DS and Vita should have been powered by AA batteries. When they stop holding charge you have to buy a whole new system! No. Just no. Absolutely ridiculous argument. You've got more of a chance of the whole console breaking than the controller not charging any more. I have never heard of anybody having a situation where they had to by a new PS3 controller because it stopped charging. Ever. The chances of it happening are slim to none. The entire console will break down before that happens.

Both of my DS3 controllers only keep a charge for about an hour now. I didn't bother buying new ones though, I just use the charging cable to use it as a wired controller (which sucks since it's so short).

It started by the controllers losing battery life just when not in use. If I had a full charged controller and didn't play the system for weeks at a time then the battery would be drained or close to it. Then it got to the point where I would charge it as I played after those long droughts and after it said the battery is full I'd disconnect the cable, play for 45min-1hr and it would give me a heads up that the battery needed to be charged again. Weak.

Wait a minute...

They're giving you AA batteries

There's a big company that goes by AA: American Airlines

American Airlines owns a huge fleet of planes

Plains are massive fields far away from cities

Cities are densely populate areas with building above ground and sewers underground

To reach those sewers, you need to go thru manholes

Manholes are covered by heavy metal plates

To lift the manhole covers, you need a crowbar

Gordan Freeman uses a crowbar as a weapon

Half-Life 3 for Xbone confirmed!

They thought they were too smart for us, but we got 'em.

The problem is that people are not saying "the recharge kit should be in the box". They are saying "AA batteries lol".

Every other device that give you an option to use AA batteries or rechargeable ones would count as a positive. And built-in as negative.

But ironically in the "gaming world" its inverted.

No. I don't want AA batteries in my phone or my iPad. That would just be a cumbersome mess.

My Dual Shock is dead. Wont hold a charge for 30 minutes. When my PS3 battery lost charge i stopped playing my PS3 until the battery recharged. When the rechargeable batteries in my 360 controller lost charge i just took some out of a drawer, plugged the spent batteries into the wall, and kept playing.
