VitaGAF! Has this happened to you?

Its still charging but Im afraid one day it'll stop. I take good care of my cables, I dont know how it just frayed like that....

Im thinking about taping it up some but should I be buying another cable just in case??

Don't panic.
It's just the plastic protector part that got damaged - cables are still intact.

Just glue it with insulating tape

P4G Spoilers

The boss in
Nanako's dungeon
is kicking my ass. Its really pissing me off on how cheap he is. -__-

I didn't have problems with that one... then again, I had 2 healers in my party. Who are you using? How is he killing you?

I had problems with the next one.

Dragon's Crown & Atelier...making public Vita time as a grown male awkward since 2013 ;D

The Classic Game Review of Atelier kinda cooled my jets though.

That makes me want to play and not want to play Totori at the same time. :lol

Do Bosses get harder later ?

So far i only felt a challange against third one
Yukiko
shadow next three were quite easy.

I made the very last boss cry like a bitch.
I recall the fight Sol1dus is at and thought it was ... slightly difficult, but I didn't die and it wasn't white knuckle intense. The final story boss managed to kill me, so I went and over leveled to compensate. When I went back, he went down like a little bitch too. ^_^

I was playing the Michael Jackson game yesterday on the train, and the guy next to me happened to turn around just at the point in Black & White where it moves from you controlling MJ dancing to a short video of three kids dancing. I got quite a filthy look - not quite as bad as when someone on the train saw me find the shower scene in the 3rd Birthday but almost.

I stand corrected!

I haven't bought either yet, but it's coming...That $20 I was saving in my PSN wallet for Spelunky never had a chance once I saw the words "Japanese Games Sale". The Classic Game Review of Atelier kinda cooled my jets though.
Thanks for that, was on the edge about Totori but just going to skip it.

Well, I think it's one of those games, that you either like or you think it's a jRPG with tedious grinding, boring combat and plot that goes no where (as described in the video).

I like these guys for RPG reviews, because they are generally fair. Their review of Totori is maybe worth a read.

Their summary aligns with my thoughts:

"It's difficult to find fault in Atelier Totori, but I recognize that it is not a game for everyone. The characters are mostly unique and interesting, but their roots in anime archetypes are obvious. Synthesizing items can get repetitive, and the main story is underdeveloped until near the end of the game, but these are fairly negligible issues. Fans of previous games in the series will find a lot to love here, and the modern conveniences are attractive enough to lure in hesitant newcomers. Players looking for a colorful world, a lighthearted story, and deep gameplay need look no further than Atelier Totori."

Basically every spell becoming multi-target instead of single-target decreases the game difficulty by a significant margin in my opinion.

Bosses can still catch you off guard especially if you haven't been grinding on purpose or were just running ignoring the shadows. Then again I played Golden on Hard, because I heard the complains about it being easier beforehand.

Persona's combat system is different from most jRPG's in the fact that if you play it right then you can decimate the enemies pretty fast.

However this woks vice versa as well. If you set up wrong even normal enemies can wipe you out very fast.

So lvl up correctly and make sure you have no weaknesses to the current monsters and are able to exploit their weaknesses and its an easy fight.

I actually find it all pretty interesting and more relaxing in a strange way. More strategy than the classic 2 people always attack and one person always heal till you win technique (although you still do that to an extent here).

#teambrokencord

I got a back from monoprice just in case. I leave one at home, and carry the other with me to pair with my portable charger.

My statement was more directed at buffs/debuffs, as well as healing spells.

ah gotcha, yeah gotta agree in that regard, but i guess this is true for a lot of RPGs! I guess they COULD withhold those multi target heals etc. for a while longer/make em available towards the end of the game to make it more challening or something

Not necessarily, what when they throw a bunch of different enemies with different weaknesses/repels etc. at you?

Still piece of cake - you have 3 out of 4 elements in your party members + your character who cover remaing element + hama/mudo.

And since two hits into weakness usually kill any enemy you can just surgically remove them one by one.

I find that biggest challenge is killing enemies while minimazing SP usage.

What's the story with changing accounts on the Vita these days, is it still a fairly annoying process? Not a case of just changing out the memory card?

Anyone expecting parity between the console and handheld versions of Lego games any time soon, I wouldn't hold your breath: starting with Marvel, the portable SKUs are getting their own subtitle. 'Universe in Peril' for Marvel.

That is fine, so long as the handheld versions are good games.

Having the option to turn wifi and airplane mode on by pressing the PS button is real nice, except my Vita never actually connects back to my wifi after turning airplane mode off and I have to do it manually anyway.

Played on hard also. Golden is pretty easy especially against the original release. Golden hands and starting on same floor after death help a ton. Just waiting for final boss sitting on lvl 93 at 75 hours played.

Persona 3 finished lvl 88 at 122 hours played for hard run. Personally I think hard is the way to go playing P4G. Otherwise game is a breeze.

Just cause a game runs in native resolution doesn't mean it looks good. And just cause a game isn't native res doesn't mean it looks bad. o_O
Yes, but most native res games are usually much more impressive than non-native res games to me. Besides, PDf is pretty much made up of music videos, P4G is a PS2 port, and DoA5+ is full of jaggles. Hardly anything to talk about.

Is it? I think the gameplay part of PDf (the "videos") are rendered in real-time. If you mean the content isn't interesting to you personally, that's fine but I think what they pull off graphically is worth noting.

DoA5+ is a port of a PS3 fighting game running at constant 60fps with a lot of impressive effects and miles more impressive than most portable 3D fighting games..

started playing knytt underground again. i'm trying very hard not to regret the purchase. the collectables seems so pointless.

oh, i got a sunflower. o....k....

Kataramari is as amazing as I remember it was when playing kataramari damacy. Missed that series.

Already up on the webstore:

Open Me!: trial version available, 7,99€ for the full thing
Ms.Germinator: 7,99€, Beware! It's supposed to have a -20% saving for PS+ users but I don't see it for the moment.

Edit: Ms. Germinator is not cross-buy apparently

i'm pretty happy that vita sales have been consistently better than last years sales.

17k for the past two weeks. way better than what it had been doing.... 9k....woof!

do the dungeons get harder or better in P4G? - the first one is pretty straight with a few small offshoot rooms. plus its pretty empty and ugly.

also how can i get some SP regen items... thats what makes me have to return to town - running out of SP. such bs. maybe i'm not strong enough for this dungeon? i think im level 11-12 or something??

edit: and yeah, i'm probably going to tacking on a P4G question everytime i post now. hah! games pretty fun so far, i havent really gotten into a rhythm or structure of my days yet, i just randomly do shit.

Despite knowing better, and taking the 2 star rating for what it is worth, I decided to purchase Ridge Racer since it was on sale this week. I knew there may be a whole lot of regret associated with this decision, I just did not realize how much there would be.

The game is awful. Is there even really any type of career mode at all? Or is it all just racing against ghosts? The lack of explanation on everything is just awful. The lack of any type of real SP career mode that I can see is awful. The fact there are only 3 tracks and other tracks are DLC is awful. Everything about the damn game is awful.

Even though it was only $6.75, I truly feel violated. And I have made some really dumb purchases over the years. This takes the cake for sure. Only person to blame is myself.

I've had the same thing happened to me.

If you're going to use tape be sure to use the black electrical tape, I tried some scotch tape and yeah that was dumb as hell after it gave me a little shock.

Would just replace it honestly. Also don't use the 3rd party Vita cables, I had one of those and it completely broke within 6 months.

my vita 3rd party is still mint after 6 months.

my official one is frayed on both ends worse than that. I used electrical tape but it still works.
