Chief Thunder revealed (Killer Instinct)

i think its kind of sad that people want to hold onto the giant lizard dino thing. i get its part of all of our childhoods, but new discoveries are cool. team feathered riptor.

Is it honestly racist if I think his skin should be slightly darker?

Riptor is bio-engineered right? Double Helix could do whatever the fuck they want at the end of the day design wise. So much potential . . .

If that means he will look like the Raptors of my childhood

Rather than this hot turd.

Then I'm all for it.

Why would anyone want to play a giant bird? I'm not attached to really any of the old designs in KI, but playing as Big Bird sounds dumb to me.

Sure, if you're speaking about reality, but dinos with feathers just don't look as cool. Simple as that.

Damnit, guys...

Riptor is NOT a Dinosaur.

Riptor should NOT have Feathers.

Another of Ultratech's miraculously realized concepts: a crossbreed of human and reptilian DNA...

^^^ Note the forked tongue. If it's generally accepted that dinosaurs are part of avian evolution, it's also generally accepted that they did not have forked tongues.

Therefore, it can be assumed that Ultratech used the DNA of a modern-day reptile and not some mosquito-in-amber, deus ex machina bullsh*t.

I'm not over-thinking this, right? Right?!

So Riptor is a giant monitor lizardman?

Lol, they could still make it work.

ok then.

but still, feathered dinos >>>> childhood lies. such is the power of science.

That would be very upsetting. I am hoping all from the past games plus one or two new fighters at a minimum.

The roster will be filled out a lot more via DLC

I'm going to assume we are going to see everyone (or mostly everyone) plus a good chunk of new characters, probably more than the original cast (Depending on how many seasons the game will have)

I would think that a KI season would have far more content than any other fighters season... And this game will have a lot more changing as time went on, so it evolves over time and gives you more reason to go back than any other fighter.

This is where people are confusing this with a retail product, its not just going to be entirely 100% complete in the sense of a retail game... It's a lot more broken down

So we may not have a filled out story mode (ala MK9) now, but we will probably get one later...

We won't have no mercy moves to start... But we will probably get them later.

We won't have a big roster now... But we will get them later.

We may not have all the characters from KI1/2 but we likely will later.

We may get different ultras, different announcers, different things to mess around with as time goes on.

This is DH first really big project since essentially Earthworm Jim 2... As long as its profitable they will be pouring a lot of work into it. If they have multiple season passes to cover all the added content (imagine $20 base and $10-15 a season) would that be a big issue if they deliver 8-10 characters a season with additional content woven inbetween?

Personally I think it is a great idea, considering a lot of what they will be doing post release will be directed by fan feedback. We get to make and mold the game as players, while DH carves out their take on KI after the returning rosters become filled out.

So will this game likely stack up against others to start? No. But over time it has the potential to be one of the most content filled game out there. I will throw my money at the screen every time I need to in order to make this game a long term success.

I agree but I wouldn't be surprised if it was 8 at launch and then a new dlc character 1 a month for a whole year totaling 20 when it's all said and done. Unless they are holding on to a whole bunch of course.

I hope Riptor has some extravagant plumage. They should turn him into a Vega-like character. Make him into a flamboyant eagle looking dinosaur.
