Is melee brokenly good or people just don't get how to counter it yet? I've been able to swipe shank my way to victory and gather intel like crazy and I'm usually pretty ass at these things for a few weeks so something must be wrong. I did have one standoff with someone who kept countering it and backing up to shoot me and I kept going back at him until I was successful.
I think thats the point though, if you were armored up and carrying a knife, in the real world, in close proximity to an enemy, youd win if they didnt go for a headshot - as such whoever it was clearly was emptying his clip into your torso and not your head.
This is more of an issue when youre using a low-repeating fire gun such as one with a silencer that isnt fully automatic.
The same is true for singleplayer all the way through the game on easy, you can practically kill everyone and they wont counter except for one particular instance (no spoilers here) but doing the same on hard will see you dying, often.
Once people get to grips with multiplayer and you start coming across better players rather than "everyones first day in vidya land", the frequency of how often you can get away with knifing everyone will drop off significantly.
a multiplayer game should never be judged for its gameplay mechanic until its matured enough for a decent amount of people to get good.
I believe myself and a couple others in this thread have access to the review copy, and today the online portion of said version is active, so if theres anything anyone would like confirmation on with regards to beta and final retail let me know, and ill do my best to answer without breaking nda
