Nintendo Downloads - August 2013

Are you from 1998, cacildo? Just wondering because your posts remind me a lot of the "why would you want that icky old sidescroller stuff now, 3D is the wave of the future!" that permeated that era.

That's what was going thru my head. I've heard this before. Psshh, the N64 is for kids.. it doesn't have CDs and can't do realistic movies like the PSX!

I won't be buying any platformers myself but I don't give 2D games any sort of perception of being of lesser value somehow.

Then again, I don't think Wii U games should ever be priced over $39.99 but I won't complain much since I doubt that will change any time soon.

Nice to finally see Zelda on VC! Too bad it's the original NES game.

I doubt they want to release ALttP so close to the 3DS release seeing how it still looks like the superior game. Ugh, Between Worlds looks nowhere near as nice a the SNES game -- I feel like they butchered the look of the game.

But if you don't like 2D platformers in general, why would you even buy them for $20 or $5 or anything?

You're being trolled by a guy who doesn't like "plataformers," whatever those are.

Splinter Cell is 16 gigs! I wish I could make the purchase from mobile and have the download commence while I'm at work.

eShop page for SC also has a DLC tab. Nothing out for the game yet right?

Wii U VC
The Legend of Zelda (NES) €4.99 (£3.49) - US Version
I'll be interested to see if it is GANNON or GANON (the former is the original, rather Engerish script while the latter is fixed in a number of places, including the villains name). Wii was GANON (I think Zelda CE or the NES Classics were the debut), but I hear 3DS was GANNON.

Yeah, to be precise, the VC Wii version uses the NES Classics GBA port of Zelda 1, yet the VC 3DS version uses the original NES ROM. Weird they did it this way, with the console VC using a handheld port, and the handheld VC using the original console version.

Bought Mega Man 1,2 on Wii U. Nintendo should do the cross buy thing that Sony uses for PS3, Vita... I want them on 3DS too, but I'm not paying 10€ again.

I really dont think much of 2d plataformers, im sorry. I could buy one, NewMarioWiiU or Luigi Bros or Donkey Kong for $20. But really, no more than that.

I don't like FPS games and I think they are often mass created with the same template. Yet I still don't expect them to sell the latest Call of Duty for peanuts.

Will be getting Zelda again because AH WHY THE HECK NOT? :P

One of the two forever legendary games (with Mario) that shaped me as a gamer in my first playing days and it has a very special place in my heart as the game that started it all for my favorite series of all time.

I still remember all the hidden things, they are just imprinted in my brain. I remember making actual drawn maps with my Dad and sister for the game. Sooo good.

I own it so many times already and I don't even care.

Release BS Zelda and I'll pay you again this same gen Nintendo!

Wouldn't it be cool if they were amping up and planning Zelda VC game releases in the weeks leading up to the 2 new (sorta) games! A discount deal would be nice, I would buy them all... again.

I still hope that one day they will relase the Zelda and F-Zero Satellaview games on VC.

F-Zero X Expansion Kit has priority :p

From wikipedia
all of F-Zero X's regular features are accessible plus twelve new tracks, a car editor and a track creator. Since the Expansion Kit has a larger amount of storage than the original cartridge, it includes new soundtracks in stereophonic sound as well as the entire collection of monaural audio tracks from the original game. In addition to the two new cups, it is also possible to create custom cups.
You're right. Screw Satellaview. I want F-Zero X including the N64DD expansion kit for the launch of the N64 VC on Wii U.

I'm still pissed that they actually included the Satellaview Fire Emblem maps in the second DS Fire Emblem game... and then proceeded not to localize it.

Just got Nano Assualt Neo for $2 because it was on sale + digital deluxe promotion $5 credit.

Next week on the Japanese 3DS will be The Adventure of Valkyrie, Little Doll Princess With DISH, SIMPLE DL Series Vol.16 and five more manga eBook collections.

Still anxiously awaiting Mario Bros 3 on the eshop. I have the NES game but would love a portable version. I am definitely not a fan of the All Stars version controls and physics (visuals are great though).

Incorrect; the Wii Virtual Console release of The Legend of Zelda is based off of the Collector's Edition version, which was available in a GameCube bundle that was released in North America on November 17th, 2003, and as, I believe (I'm not sure), a Club Nintendo reward in Japan. The Wii U version will be based off this very same version, as the updated copyright notice found in this version on the official Japanese page for the game shows:

For reference, here are the Wii Virtual Console pages for The Legend of Zelda for Japan, North America (the thumbnail is inaccurate; click on the video and look at the copyright date there), and the UK (once again, the thumbnail is inaccurate; click on the video and see the updated copyright notice). The UK page is for all three Virtual Console releases of the game.

So yes. we'll be getting the updated translation (which was introduced in the Collector's Edition and then included in the GBA NES Classics series version).

Bought Mega Man 1,2 on Wii U. Nintendo should do the cross buy thing that Sony uses for PS3, Vita... I want them on 3DS too, but I'm not paying 10€ again.

Sometimes I end up not buying any version of a game available on both platforms because I can't decide which to get, and don't want to purchase it twice.

Maybe counter-intuitive but it's possible Nintendo's actually leaving money on the table by not offering cross-buy. The are with me, at least.

Same here. I ain't double dipping for no Mega Men;)

I haven't double dipped on Wii U and 3DS VC (aside of Ambassador and 30c games). I'm still holding out hope that when 3ds Miiverse and eShop unification comes, there will be some form of cross-buy.

Ah, thanks. I forgot about that version.

Best we can hope for are reduced prices when buying across systems, like the Wii -> WiiU VC transfer stuff.

I wonder if that's a Nintendo rule - the upper limit is $30 for an eShop game on 3DS *unless* there's a retail release.

Ninja Gaiden II, come to WIi U. The tiny 3DS screen does not suit you.

Am I right in thinking Japan does not have this or Kirby's Adventure (not that either are at all necessary due to the 3D classics versions)?
I heard it was Mario is Missing to round off year of Luigi...

I think Urban Champion's one of the more complete 3DS Classics, too. They slapped in achievements and stuff to disguise how bad the game is.

I don't think they have any set in stone pricing guidelines except maybe a rule that everything that's not DLC on the 3DS eshop has to end in .99.

I didn't want to make a new topic about this but I'm having an issue with playing Splinter Cell online.... I can only hear other players in multiplayer coming from the tv and not through my headphones. I had this same issue with Black Ops 2. I read that iPhone and inline mics headphones should work so what's the issue?

I don't have Splinter Cell but in Black Ops 2 you have to switch the audio output to TV+GamePad or GamePad under Options/Audio Settings. If that's not the problem then I don't know what it could be.

I never played the 3DS game, how does Pokemon Rumble U compare to the Wii version?

It sounds the same in the press release, but I've heard people say it might have less content than that one?

Man Bit Trip Saga for this price is such a steal....Bit Trip Runner alone is worth 10 bucks in my opinion.

Oh damn, forgot about Bit.Trip Saga being that insanely good deal. But I wanna save the $10 I have left from the FM:A + SMT4 promo for AA5 now that I know the price....Plus I have all 6 games on WiiWare.

Man, this trend of dripping out NES games we've gotten ten times over is just salt in the wound for us Wii U owners. I'd be more than willing to bite on a few lesser released NES games but I'm more interested in SNES/N64 at this point. I really wonder what is the hold up on their release schedule?

Is the Bit.Trip Saga deal coming to the UK eshop anytime soon?
