Vita PSN Game & Service Thread | August 2013 | Divekicks & Dragons

Ok guys, should I trade my Ridge Racer for Unit 13

OR

Give my RR plus $10 for Sly Cooper?

OR

$20 in store credits?

Considering quality and chances of going IGC soon.

a) Unit 13 was already a EU PS+ freebie so it probably won't be again for Europeans. Quite possible it will bei in the IGC for Americans. Sub $20 sale of this game is also very probable.
Personally I only played the demo and didn't like it, haven't had time to play my IGC version.

b) Sly is a good game. It will be a IGC contender for sure, but it just released this February, so I guess it will take some time. I can see sub $20 discounts happening soon.

c) Would go with this alternative.

Man I just realize, I'm getting close to filling up my 32gb card. Has there been any hint of bigger memory cards in the future?

Did I misunderstand the psn blog regarding Project Diva coming out today?

Famousmortimer hinted at bigger memory cards. He leaked some other Playstation stuff before.

Shocking day at work. Granddad has been rushed to hospital.

I need some cheering up. I have to wait til tomorrow for cunting spelunky as well.

Did a search for spelunky on the store via my vita, and it is there along with a demo (US). Not seeing the plus discount though.

i see it too, gonna have to wait for my discount :(
edit: gonna download the demo chances are the full version is an unlock key as the demo is the same size as the full game

has that happened on Vita before? i'll do that if so... gotta wait for dat discount

It's a great game, but it suffers from slowdown in a lot of places. I never played the PS3 version, so I don't know how the loading times are there, but on the Vita you basically see a loading screening every time something new happens. I'd still (at the risk of doing a little self-promotion) recommend it, though.
Thanks, performance on the ps3 was pretty bad and I was curious if they somehow made it better on the vita. I'll probably still check it out as it would be pretty cool to have for a portable system.

Figured I'd let you guys know in case anyone was interested, Spelunky is up on the web store. Unfortunately it doesn't show the PS+ discount.

Machinarium is also up.

Just picked up Walking Dead and started a new game... but one of the options is to use traditional controls vs. touch screen.

Anyone know which one will give the better experience?

So, my Vita plan:
From tomorrow (EU) to the beginning of 2014: Spelunky
Then Binding Of Isaac until I guess forever. I'm set!

j/k, so many other interesting games coming out!

I was really on the fence with you on NLKS. I was thinking between that or ACoH, as the latter features a crazy soundtrack and also might be technically better. I know both has it's issues, and I'm not the largest "Pikmin" style fan, but I might end up with ACoH if I ever do bite on one..unless NLKS gets a crazy stupid lower price than what just happened.

This.
Using touch gets you the same weird display borders like the iOS versions.

Edit: You can't mix both controls unfortunately.

I would say the touch screen as long as you can still control lee with the analog sticks. I played the pc version using the xbox controller and was able to pick my options with a button press (X,B,Y) but i would bet the touch screen just adds to it.

I recommend trying both though since I haven't actually played on the vita yet.

Spelunky bought. Queued it up from the web store, now to hope everything works the way it should so it's waiting for me when I leave this accursed work place that keeps me from my Vita!
But yet, 'tis a wonderous place as it fuels my ability to impulse purchase too many games support the Vita as I do!

crossposted because I am that damn happy:

Now I just need the time to play them! :D

Tried buying games, it let me buy them. Then I say it's okay to add the purchase to my activity and I go to download them, and it gets frozen on the "Preparing to download... Please wait." screen. It did this with Limbo, and the two HD PS Mini updates. Every time. And I cannot get them to download, even when I retry. Lost progress in P4G because of this. :(((

Today is a crappy day for the Vita. Project Diva F was released in NA today for PS3, and Sega still maintains that they have no plans for the Vita version, even though it's the same fucking game.

It's just so frustrating to see even low risk releases get the shaft. The cost in getting a digital-only release would have been very small, and even then they are still not willing to support the Vita.

My first run was shaping up to be beautiful! 34 bombs and 40k+ before entering the jungle with the eye.

only to have a dumb mistake take away my 5 hearts in less than 5 seconds. this game is so amazing.

im actually used to playing this game on a DS3. getting used to the vita shouldn't be hard but it is a little different

Ughguhghghguh today's not my day. After having my DOA download deleted 3/4th of the way through it, I just accidentally turned off my Vita, in the middle of a 7 dungeon crawl in Dragon's Crown....I mean, I turned it off on purpose...but I forgot I was in the game..

I was trying to start up the Spelunky download. Vita kept giving connection errors, so I thought, "Oh, a simple restart will fix this! Hurr de hurr!"

Near instantly, I knew what I had done. I'm thankful the game is fun, but I was hoping to finish out the run and then start in Spelunky. Now I almost feel obligated to go back and do the whole run again...

:waahhh.gif

I got some major slow down in Spelunky on world 2, in one of the hidden levels that I won't spoil here, which got me killed. Never experienced any slowdown in the XBLA version.

Edit: VitaGAF should I get Dragon's Crown or Muramasa Rebirth if I can only get one? Price doesn't really factor for me, just want the better experience.
