Lawd look at Felicity's fine ass.

Marry me, girl.

She grew up with one of my best friends.

I haven't watch Arrow outside of a few episodes, so I can't really comment on her character. I'm also just joking! There are plenty of good actors in bad roles :p

Dude, watch Arrow! It's fantastic. Plus, plenty of hot guys for you.

There's nothing wrong with Katie Cassidy, but I believe it is the writers' mission in life to make Laurel a genuinely terrible character. It's a shame, she was fantastic on Supernatural. Laurel is just infected with Lana Lang syndrome.

She is truly terrible. Occasionally you see moments where it's like "Hey, maybe Laurel isn't so bad, maybe there's hope for her..." but then you get kicked in the balls by the Joker's knife shoe thing.

Cause, seriously... Laurel is terrible. Avert your eyes, Ivy!

"It should have been Laurel..."

This needs to happen in season 2 or else! And I just learned how to make GIFs so you guys are in for a treat!

Jesus Christ, he works 14 hour days, and he's the star of the show, so he's probably working forward to five days a week. How did you say in such good shape? When does he have time? What am I doing with my life?

Is the first season on Netflix yet?

He gets paid hundreds of thousands (millions) to stay in good shape. I think you would too if someone offered you a million dollar recurring gig under the condition that you maintain your physique to the highest level possible. Also not to say that Stephen uses HGH, but many actors do, sometimes gaining 40+ pounds of muscle in months. And why not, it's your job.

He doesn't even make a million dollars a season :p

Not even close. This is the CW, not an actual real channel.

Real channel actors (and even side characters) can demand 300k+ an episode. Though we never know exact numbers, I'm pretty damn sure he'll command 100k an episode as the lead, especially now that Arrow is pretty much a guaranteed success for the network.

No. No. No. No. No.

He does not make close to 100k an episode. Less than half of that.

I think he means more time/fatigue wise than simply effort. There's a point where you either don't have the time or energy to do those things. Or a point where it seems like you shouldn't have either for those.

IIRC there was an interview with Alcide from True Blood a while back and he said whenever he's not working on the show, he's working out to keep his figure. That guy's not the star of his show like Amell is, who's in 90% of the scenes, and True Blood only has 12 or 13 eps compared to Arrow's 22.

So yeah, Amell may not be a great actor, maybe not even a good one, but I can appreciate his work ethic.

That's more what I meant. I get why he does it and the incentive to do so. But the time and effort and general fatigue to keep that shape for nine months is brutal and absolutely stunning.

Still, that's good money.

I wanna hang out with Amell. He seems like a fun guy.

I guess I should explain fully. First of all, you are WILDLY overestimating how much most series regulars make an episode on broadcast TV. Most series regulars make under 100k. Even most stars of shows will probably "only" make somewhere around 100k under their contracts are renegotiated.

Almost all actors on scripted television are locked into their contracts through their third season. Then all bets are off towards renegotiating money. There is a set bump that all actors receive from seasons 1 to 2, and 2 to 3, though it's fairly minor. He was making 30,000 an episode his first season, he's "only" making around 35,000 an episode this season.

If they do 22 episodes, he'll "only" make 770,000 for his season season. Not bad. But Mark Harmon makes that in one episode and a repeat on NCIS, for perspective.

They also publish everyone's salaries in TVGuide every season :p

Welp I guess I was completely wrong then, I assumed most leads would easily command 100k. Still not bad $$$, but yeah much lower than I believed. I guess after season 3 they can command a lot more for obvious reasons.
