I think PS4 and Xbone have bar none the shittiest launch lineups in the history of gaming (where's the Japanese support?) but people in glass houses shouldn't throw stones, Reggie

They're excited about both.

PS4 launch lineup is better than Wii U's entire first year lineup plus announced lineup.

Watch Dogs, Battlefield 4, Call of Duty, Assassin's Creed 4, Killzone: Shadow Fall, Drive Club.

Tons of indies.

Even if some of those games are coming to the Wii U, gamers want to play them on a next-gen system.
 
Well, considering I'm not rushing out to get PS4 yet, I'm not really disagreeing with him. I can still make do with PC for now for Watchdog.

Well I thought Wii U. Had a cool launch. COD, ME3, and Ac3, plus whatever Nintendo exclusives. So those who bought the system, bought some really ok games at bst. Fuck it, I am giving you too much credit.
 
Goddam Nintendo is hilarious. This, along with the 2DS announcement, reminded me of when GAF wanted Iwata to step down and then he made himself CEO of NoA. Pure gold.

Well the WiiU better atleast have more than 20 or so games by now else it would be dead but its getting there, slowly still.

Truth of the matter and this is cold hard facts, PS4 (and XB1) long term are gonna have so much more software than Nintendo could wish for. Everything from new IPs, returning franchises, indie support, F2P games. This is what sells me on those consoles. Nintendo as long as it lacks solid 3rd party support, I aint buying their shit. Again. These are facts, you cant spin this. So dont take this post as being biased or trying to attack you.

Your second point is incorrect. Yea we the hardcore love specs and fancy graphics. But that doesnt mean shit if you have no software. Software is king. So we love games, games and more games. What does Nintendo bring to the table? Nintendo 1st party games and.... thats all. What does Sony/MS bring? New IPs, old IPs, new content, new experiences, great indie support and F2P games ala Planetside 2. When Nintendo does all that with great hardware, come back to me.
 
There is def some arrogance in his comment. you think he be a little more humble when he just drop a price in a system not even a year old due to pathetic sales.

that being said PR guy is just doing his job.
 
and in early 2014, when the Wii U has another drought of titles and PS4/XB1 have a surplus of third-party devs releasing games for their systems...
 
Can't say I disagree with him.

Hell, even if I'm 100% sure to get a PS4, I'm not getting one at launch especially because there's no game that reaches me at launch, I'll wait a couple of months.

Why? I've been able to play it for free on Steam for months now and haven't really cared. I installed it and played it for a few hours, it was okay.

Not really sure why people should care all that much on consoles, either. It's okay, but nothing to be excited about, I don't think.

What I think is more prominent is the exclusives. Multi-platform games make up a large number of Sony and Microsoft's launch software library, and I don't think their exclusive lineups are the strongest on either side.
 
Certainly "meh" when they're mostly third party games on both platforms and most of them aren't coming to your platform. You know, the problem you have had since the N64.

So that's the defense? "Sony also did it"? Ok, I'll bite: "Yeah, Sony's rep shouldn't have said that either.".

But wait, this doesnt' fit. Even if the "another Mario" comment was distasteful, they were attacking a rival company, they were attacking such rival company's very own IP.

But in this case, Reggie's comment is a middle finger not only to Sony and Microsoft, but to other companies that make MOST of a console's catalog.

Perfect response. That's all Nintendo really has these days. Can't rely on nostalgia forever. A lot of gamers growing up these days don't even care/have played games like Zelda, Final Fantasy, Donkey Kong etc.

And I'm tired of fanboys saying gameplay is unparalleled. A game like Assassins Creed 2 moves the industry forward than another Mario sidescroller etc.

Think about it, I use my young cousins to base opinions since they're typical American middle class kids. They don't know who Kirby is, they've never played a Zelda game, they don't even really care about Mario. They play Minecraft, Black Ops II, FIFA/Madden, etc.

Let's be conservative and say Nintendo is at 5 million units by Q1 2014. You honestly think Sony is going to sell 5 million PS4s in 4 months? I seriously doubt it.

Well I must have a far different perspective than you when it comes to sales. I can ask 9-10 of my other "gamer" friends what Pyschonauts is and they would not have a clue what I am talking about. 9 out of 10 people that I know buy consoles to play GTA, COD, BF, Fifa, Halo, Madden, or a combination of those games. They don't buy consoles to play games like W101, Pikmin, Puppeteer, or Vanquish.
