Adam Sessler"Titan Fall one of the Most Enjoyable things I've played at a Convention"

If MS were smart, this already would be locked as a console exclusive.
If this were X1 only I'd seriously consider buying one. It already has a fairly appetizing selection of games, this would just be the one to make me jump.
But its on PC too hahahah suck it MSFT.

8 + AI(x) vs 8 + AI(x) where x is unknown

I imagine the number of AI will be in the double digits for each side. You often see entire cargo boxes of them just fall in the map filled with like 5 or 6 of them.

Who knows if AI ships can attack you from above too.

Thanks Sub.

What about those people who played it at gamescom and seemed to love it?

It does feel like you write off the hype as generated just because you don't happen to be hyped.

I'm not not hyped, I just don't see why it's getting the response it's getting. Ever since E3 it seems like the game has been shoved down our throats non stop.

Does it look good? Yes. Does it look amazing? No.

I get the feeling if this game was multiplatform at its launch it wouldn't be getting this push. I will most likely play the game, but I wish the hype would cool down a bit.

Still need to see actual unscripted gameplay.

Nah it's the same people that keep buying COD and giving it great reviews. It's not new, it's not very special but the people who like it want nothing else. Well maybe titans haha.

Gotcha. So when a Mariokart U thread pops up we can say the same thing about driving on walls.

I agree with this, in terms of the media push. The media push for this game has been insane. You can't go a couple days without 90% of the major gaming sites talking about how it's the best thing ever. That does seem a bit unnatural and forced.

On the other hand, maybe they just REALLY like this game that much?

The only game that is making me hesitate ever so slightly on that PS4 preorder. I know I can get it on PC but I'm willing to bet the community won't be as big.

I don't know guys, this looks like a bit of Doom mixed in with King of Fighters kung-fu, plus Tetris if it only gave you L shaped blocks. Pass.

I think people are upset this is only coming to One plus PC to be honest. Why is no one saying KZ looks like a lame arena shooter mixed with a novice After Effects user who just got access to a ton of plug-ins?

How well did the Mass Effect games sell on the PS3?

I'm curious if people (PS4 owners) will still be interested in Titanfall a year later.

It's not a story driven game. I'm pretty sure Titanfall 2 would sell really well on PS4 if Titanfall is as good as it looks.

Getting kinda hyped for this game. I really love games with a great sense of movement and this game seems to open up closed enviroments in an awesome way.

I think you're grossly underestimating the pc community here. It will most likely be just as big, will have mods, and will last longer than on XB1.

Sounds too risky, complete exclusively would mean having to pay EA a lot more money than they already have and that's on an untested new IP.

Maybe, but right now MS are in a bad position, with a inferior but $100 more expensive hardware. They need to take risks, they need ASAP a differential selling point (other than Kinect). Titanfall looks like it, the Halo 3 of this gen, a game able to sell a lot of SKUs.

Yeah, I don't think these year late ports end up working out too well in most cases. It's not if PS4 is going to have a shortage of first person shooters for owners to play. Titanfall 2 day and date with the other versions will be a different story.

Not even sessler can escape gafs purposeful discarding of titanfall. If you seriously have no interest in the game then great. The posts about how unappealing and generic it looks is getting old. It is a shooter yes. The gun is in front of you and you shoot things yes, so in that sense it is not a departure from norms I guess. The jet pack parkour, fast and agile mechs, mixed with fast paced cod style shooting is in no way generic. There is an obvious reason for the downplaying of this game. Just know you probably get a late release of this game or titanfall 2 on ps4 so get over it.

its call of duty with mechs, zero hype for this.

to me its the press trying to shove it up our throats, they want to create another call of duty.

i think destiny will be a much bigger complete game, awsome single/co op / mmo game, and will have multyplayer too.

They have said nothing about Mod support as far as I am aware. How long it lasts is dependent on how well Xbox One sells but the 360 Community + PC should keep the game massively popular...hopefully. :D

I'm interested in TF, it looks cool. But after the Bioshock Infinite thing I've tuned out Sessler. He's like Cannata: They see a new shiny and they just go batshit crazy with the hyperbole and platitudes until the next shiny comes along.

This is how I feel about not just Sessler, but most big sites and people who work for them. I'll judge whether the game is good when there is a ton of footage and info available and I can play it (demo/friend's copy)

The problem with titanfall is that it's on the 360 and the PC aswell. I think having it on the 360 is a huge mistake since why spend 500 dollars to get a game they can already play on their 360. It should be a PC and Xb1 only game if they want to move units.

It may be fun so I may pick it up when it comes to PS4 or get it on PC. I'm in general agreement with other people though, the gaming press is largely about over hyping stuff, particularly during launches, so I rarely take any kind of preview coverage seriously. Much of the stuff written about BioShock Infinite was beyond ridiculous.

I really hope it comes to PS4 (which I'm sure it will). Right now I'll probably go for the PC version. It really does look like an awesome FPS.

Welcome to neogaf. Home of double standards, jealousy, and resentment.

The game looks absolutely amazing. It doesnt even resemble cod at all with the way pilots move and titans too. The only thing is looks like it has in common with cod is the controls and that's a good thing. Cod is all about low latency, smooth controls and titanfall has that, naturally because its from the creators of cod. Other than that, it doesn't look like it plays like cod thanks to the crazy wall running and verticality of the maps

All the "let the hype grow organically" posts are funny. First of all, that's exactly what's happening. How many Titanfall trailers have you seen? How many CG teaser trailers have they released? Not many especially for a AAA game. The reason this seems more hyped than Destiny (which is arguable) or most other next gen games is because people can actually play it. Just because you don't see what's so good about it doesn't mean it's being pushed any harder than any other game.

I would imagine the 360 version won't look so hot also iirc Respawn aren't actually doing the 360 version so already even the person who doesn't follow gaming news will probably pick that bit of info up.

I'm also betting that MS do a beta for TF on X1 they already know they have a winner here what better way to get us locked in than offering a beta for a few weeks. It already seems to be in pretty good shape.

A sterling beta ala CoD4:MW would certainly get people to upgrade to a new console a lot quicker.

Then you haven't been paying attention.

Attention to what?

As someone said being able to play this is a lot different to just watching bullshot gameplay and CG videos of things And that's where a lot of it's good word has come from people actually playing it. Getting it and enjoying it.

You say that like Sesslers['s opinion on MS specific matters has been taken without a grain of salt..Where have you been? He clearly has his biases, for better or worst, but at the very least he's the better of his contemporaries.

It looks pretty nice, but it's not "buy an Xbox One nice", not when I have a more capable PC that'll play it just fine. I think that's probably why some are backlashing against it, because they feel it's being intertwined with the marketing push for that platform, and it's just making some roll their eyes.

I-it's just Call of Duty with mechs, you guys.

ibivpAamQRicma.gif

that reminds me of a next gen version of bunny hopping, only actually built into the game, and not an exploit. very cool. surprised I havent seen this more often.

Titanfall will be out before we know it. Just a few short months after a launch window where we will be plenty distracted and then the titanfall addiction will kick in

selling lots of Xbones

but you are you.. and the masses are many. That is who the marketing push is for.
